Of the nine levels of Hell, have you ever wondered what level Henry VIII was assigned to when he arrived for all the damage, murder, and destruction he caused?
The juxtaposition of Romanesque and Gothic architecture is very pronounced in this abbey’s ruins. What a shame that Henry VIII caused such widespread cultural and artistic vandalism just because he’d already blown through his father’s carefully saved royal treasury and needed more money! It was also a way to let the Catholic Church know that he was the boss now and not the Pope. Of course, his son Edward VI was no better when he insisted that rood screens be pulled down, murals be painted over and statues smashed up. The wholesale devastation wreaked over 17 years was just so unfortunate.
GREAT HISTORY BEAUTIFUL WAALS 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓👍💂
I live in South Shropshire, I was born in Shrewsbury Hospital.
It's a 12th century monastery based in Shropshire - but regularly tours the country.

Never really thought about it that way, but I’m sure he would be in for something special for what he did.
Renovation can be done 🙏🙏🙏

Well I think Jehovah is telling him who the boss is now and that he is last, the first shall be last
