God might not need to use the sign gifts in America since we have full access to the Gospel but Too many times our missionaries at my church have come back with stories that could be straight out of the book of Acts. They stay humble about it. They don’t announce it to the entire church or flaunt it, but being involved on the global mission field I’ve heard them talk about it to our groups. Once they are back in America however the gift ceases. I believe God calls specific people for that kind of work and the Holy Spirit manifests those gifts when needed. Although they get “abused” and many times are fake in America those gifts are very much still active when God needs to use them to spread His word and display His power.

That statement that the only way someone can know the true gospel is if we refute the false gospel is not correct. The true gospel is revealed through grace and faith when preached and leads to life. The false gospel leads to death.

I've been listening to Pastor Voodie for a while, but never knew he didn't believe on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which i do believe they are still in operation individually, because I've seen it an experienced it. And if i wouldn't have made the desition to believe in tongues, receive the gift and speack it, i would be dead or in a mental hospital right now. I do agree that many abuse this gifts, and there's no prosperity gospel in the bible. But prosperity is biblical because you can also read it through the scriptures. The wrong thing is for pastors is to focus on prosperity and greed, and not on the salvation of the person. To focus on Jesus, and everything else will be added on to you. I also don't understand why someone would not believe the gifts of healing and tongues still exist when God is the same yesterday today and forever, and the Holy Spirit exists just the same. To teach the contrary is concidred appostacy. I don't read anywhere that this gifts ended with the apostoles. On the contrary. Jesus commanded the disciples, to go and make more desciples and teach them what He had teach them. Matt. 28 16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. Enticing words of man's wisdom but, no power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost. Acts 1:8 says ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. This man is way to proud allow the Holy Ghost access to his heart. He's read how the Baptism of the Holy Ghost fell on the 120 in the upper room at 9am in the morning . The speaking in tongues boldly as the Holy Spirit gave them the utterance. Everyone who heard and witnessed it said they were drunk. People with a lot of pride will reject this because they will not subject themselves to God to the point of letting God have his way. All this just seems out of order to them. But to those of us who have experienced this WE KNOW it is the power of God unto salvation. This why God can justifiably say in that day, when they say all the things they did in his name , God says I NEVER knew you. Buy the truth and sell it not. Read and study your Bible, take God at HIS word. He will give understanding to a sincere heart. It's always the humble that will get the help.

It could be CLEARLY INTERPRETED by others. Note the importance of that difference! The random tongues people speak no days 90% of the time are NOT from God, especially if no one is there to interpret it. With love and compassion I HIGH ENCOURAGE you to reread Acts chapter 1 and 2, taking in their full context and detail as the same with 1 Corinthians Chapter 14. You will see that Paul's admonishment is not to be chaotic and random with people using tongues, as it is primarily a self edifying act, not a God edifying one. And its also primarily meant for unbelievers and not for believers to utilize and "soak" in corporately in randomness within themselves.
