    The Napoleon pockets at 6:28 are mot storage compartments, they are double chest armor pockets.

    I own this jacket. It's a really good 3 season option. It's not cool enough for hot temperatures. But it's waterproof and very comfortable.

    Come on Dainese start putting CE level 2 protectors in your equipment, Rev'it is doing it in stuff that is virtually half the price.

    nice review as always but let me give you a friendly advice.I have almost the same body measurements with Bryan and I can say from real life having owned a few dainese jackets that Bryan is at least 54.Especially this jacket as all touring jackets must be a little more "roomy" to invite both chest and back protectors.The same go with the leathers.With 52 suit you cannot even grab the clipons with the extra inner protectors...In alpinestars yes 52 is the right size

    • @flippflopps4026

      john al totally agree. I’m the same size and the 52 was way to small with a back protector in and just a t shirt underneath

      The D-Cyclone is arguably the better jacket, as it uses a laminated Gore shell. -DrewZilla

    How would this jacket perform during the summer compared to the Revit Sand 3? Im less worried about the rain protection and looking for more cooling during the summer. The sand 3 rain liner is fully removable, however the dainese seems to fit better compared to the sand 3. Is this able to stretch to four seasons with 25C to 30C summers or would a sand 3 be much better and eliminate the needd for a mesh jacket entirely?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Sand 3 is way better vented for summertime. Since this Dainese only vents to the waterproof liner, it's a bit hot for summer. If you like the fit of Dainese but want the features of the Sand 3, definitely look at the X-Tourer. -DrewZilla

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Carve Master 2 and Cyclone are around the same length. The main difference is that the Cyclone has a more breathable laminated Gore-Tex membrane compared to the Carve Master 2. -DrewZilla

    What level kind of armour does this jacket have on the shoulders and elbows? Is it worth upgrading and if it is what would you recommend cheers

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It uses Dainese's CE Level 1 composite armor, and due to its shape and how it's attached, it cannot be upgraded easily. The armor is still good, and the jacket's abrasion resistance is really good, so I wouldn't try to change the armor. -DrewZilla

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't had my hands on the Carve Master 2 specifically, but Dainese has been hiding the chest protector pocket in odd places recently. Usually it's at the bottom of the jacket, a zip pocket opens up that allows you to reach up inside. They're notoriously hard to find but if you pop out the liner and throw it on the table, you should be able to get at it eventually. -Kraus-e

      @@RevZilla I have the same problem - I have this jacket in hand and I don't see any pockets large enough to hold the Dianese chest protector. I suspect Dianese website may be wrong and these aren't supported. It can't be in the gore-tex shell, and there just aren't any mesh pockets to hold them.

    how to clean this jacket? If it's all in insects? Can I put it in the washing machine and wash it? Will the washing machine break the gore-tex membrane?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You must first remove the thermal liner and remove all the armor. You can then use a front-loading washing machine on the gentle cycle with cold water. You should also use a cleaner like Nikwax Tech Wash, which does not leave a residue like regular detergent. There are also care instructions on a label in the jacket. -DrewZilla

      I wrote an e-mail to Dainese and wrote back to me:
      ,,We always suggest to our customers to follow the washing instructions written on the internal black label inside the jacket, in order to avoid to damage the jacket. If you put the jacket in the washing machine, you are most likely to damage the internal gore tex membrane. "
      And what you say????

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dainese is certainly right to be cautious in their recommendations. Many other brands allow machine washing on a Gentle Cycle for Gore-Tex, but it seems Dainese prefers to be more careful. To be as careful as possible, you can wash the jacket by hand with Nikwax Tech Wash and drip dry. -DrewZilla

      Like most jackets, this has a pocket for a back protector, but the back protector is not included. For good protection, you would purchase a Manis D1 G Back Protector Insert (G1 or G2 size is based on the jacket size). -DrewZilla

    Just bought one, RST Pro is 30% cheaper and much better. RST has twin front zips, not one zip and press studs. RST better bigger pockets, the Dainese has crap shallow pockets. You can see Dainese chose to use smaller zips and press studs where they can to save money. That collar too just pulls off whenever you pick the jacket up. Don't waste your money on this jacket, you are paying for the name, that's all.

  • @kikoy08
