PUSHED TO THE LIMIT in the South West - Granite Skywalk Porongurup (CARAVAN COUPLE)

- Welcome back to another video! This week we are making a mile to head down south, after leaving Geraldton and stopping off in Dongara for a last ocean swim we head inland with our Next Gen Ford Ranger and Network RV caravan. Cruising through the wheatbelt stop in at mingenew bakery and check out a few spots in town before heading to three springs free camp.
While heading south we stop off at Carnamah and look at one of the coolest BIG things a huge tractor and this is actually big.
Jingemia caves was a cool but very hot spot to look at a cavern in the ground while fighting the flies at the same time.
We make a mile and arrive at the Porongurup region to explore a few huge walks and an iconic lookout. Chelsea struggles on the walk up to the Granite Skywalk but it is worth the walk for some incredible views.
To reward a hectic walk we stop in at the Woodlands distillery where we find some very cool gins to taste leaving with a bottle.
The last walk in the area is Nancy's Peak a tough walk but pays off with some incredible views.

Car Nar Mar and Min ee new , spring is a nice time for the WA wheatbelt 😊
Hey thanks for clearing that up 😃😃
As Tony613 mentioned, flowers are Patterson's curse, a declared noxious weed. The seed survives in the soil for 7 years. Check shoes, etc to avoid transporting weed seeds around the country. Luv your vids, watch every week
@@allank6406 hey thanks for letting us know. Was that the purple flour ?
Yes purple flower also known as salvation jayne in some parts of south Australia
That episode was very interesting. You two must be very fit so keep it up. Even though I don’t have a caravan I would still like to get one of your t shirts. I also mentioned your videos to a lot of people in they also really like them
Hey thanks so much Glen! Appreciate you telling your friends about us 😃
You can puchase a tshirt from our website at caravanadventureaus.com
Oh Chelsie, I’d power a smoothie maker so I could stay healthy enough to be able to do some of those amazing walks you and Bryce showed us in This episode 🏃🏻♀️➡️🏃🏽➡️
At least you're pronouncing Albany correctly, most people from eastern states get it wrong.
Great video, I live in Albany and have never done Casle Rock! I really should......
Great video.
OMG hate all the flies, puts me in a bad mood too! 🤔😂
@@lorrainewood2405 thanks for watching! 😃🪰
Great vid guys! Chelsea I’ve been known to have a full blown tantrum over flies, girl you are not alone!
@@sarahmac27 hahaha I can relate
Chelsea IS a gem. You’ve done a great job with Juice too, well behaved for a youngster
Thanks so much 😃😃
I’m exhausted watching you two climbing those cliffs. I through enjoy your episodes.
@@diannetroeth-telfer1148 thanks so much for watching Dianne
Hey guys
Long time follow
First time commenter
We have been within kms of you for the last few weeks/month. We are currently in Margret river and about to head to Albany/Esperance. Was just about to book somewhere in Denmark but saw your comments so think I’ll give it a skip
Hey,
Thanks for following, denmark is a beautiful town, we just happened to stay at a pretty poor place, there are some other hip camps around and nice caravan parks in the area 👍
You talc the talc but didn't walc the walc!! 😂😂😂 🤪
Great vid as per usual guys.
Cheers, dd
😂😂😂
Thanks for watching mate! 👍
Flies change my whole outlook on exploring any place in the open.
Agreed haha
Great episode guys, the walks are hard but the view's are amazing ❤
@@annapietroniro-widdeson4973 very true 😃
Totally agree about the flies.
@@johnclarke8282 😃 glad I’m not alone haha
Some great spots on the wheatbelt way south. Thanks for the info, and the pronunciation guide for Mingenew (will be there in a few days, so will avoid embarrassment). That was a great guide on the Sky Walk. Looking forward to doing that!
Thanks for watching! Definitely a cool drive through there 👍
Well worth the walk up to the sky walk, so nice!
Those walks look so hard but what a view at the end. Makes it all worthwhile even if there are a few little mumblings along the way.🥰 Thank you so much for sharing another great video. Stay safe, healthy and enjoy.😀
Yes for sure 🤩
Thanks for watching Debra!
HI Guys Another great episode, yes the two climbs you did are quite a challenge but well worth it the views are magnificent. It's been a while since I have been in that area and I live in Perth. The Wheat Belt is also quite an amazing area. Keep up the great work, your episodes are really down to earth unlike some other travellers on TH-cam. Happy travels and stay safe. Cheers Peter
great vid... One day.
The scenery and the walks were great
@@susanmccusker5931 👌🏾👌🏾
Hey Chelsea, we did NT a few years back with my Hubby Daughter & Son and omg the frigging flies, I was loosing my shit with them. In your mouth nose ears ……nip im with you can’t deal with them that thick.
Love your videos thank you , keep them coming ❤
@@paulinedunlop8426 so glad I’m not the only one who feels that way 🪰🪰
Thanks for watching! 😃😃
Flies ,been there done that !😂😂😂😂😂thanks again for the video guy's 🤙
The worst hey 🪰😂
Very considerate not to scare the snakes. Lol
Love the new van, I'm looking at a 12'-14 ' for Tilly and me. I want something small for me to tow in my 70's. And park at home.
I was thigh skapping as you picked the van up. Lovely van.
Old van chassis break made me think on an Australian steel chassis
I was trying to follow on google maps. Is it difficult to put a map insert with a drop pin. Just a thought. Col.
@@coldouglas1475 hey thanks for watching and commenting 😃😃
Yes a smaller caravan could be a great option for you
Flies and steep walks. Just the best!
Haha Chelsea’s nightmare 😂
Pub in Carnamah does a very good surf & turf :) My brother was one of the local cops there for a few years before moving onto other country locations.
@@greg6229 okay it’s a cute little town 😃😃
Bryce your bribing Chelsea with alcohol on walks I use to bribe her with freddo frogs 😂😂
@@lorrainewood2405 haha both work well 😂
Great show
Keep up the good work
Hi Chelsea. Great vid as always. I have done Granite Skywalk, loved it too, a great walk, highly recommend it, I found it VERY windy at the top but an awesome view.
The first flowers were weeds! Salvation Jane or also known as Patersons Curse. Those in Pongorup Nat Pk were wildflowers.
Hey thanks Peter for watching!
Yes I thought it might have been a weed 😔 shame not many wildflowers around but we were a bit late in the year.
👍🏽
@. We were there and Fitzgerald NationalPark in early October and the flowers were amazing, you are a month too late…..the WA wildflowers in wheatbelt(Mullewa region Aug-Sept) and southern regions(mid Sept -mid Oct) are awesome, a good one to return to sometime in the future.
Great video
Thanks so much for watching and commenting 😃😃
Great episodes guys. Those walks looked amazing. 👍💕
Thanks for watching!
Best walk but very tough 😃
Thanks Guys, for showing us around and another great video ! Love the funny comments !! Hopefully you could do some videos in Victoria . Keep up the great work !! 👍👍🍻🍻
Hey thanks Mark 😃👍🏽 appreciate you watching every week
Fun video guys . Two funny comments. Bryce’s tight fit comment and Chels seeing a winery on ur walk. 🩵💙🩷👍👍👍c u next Sunday
Haha glad you liked it 😃😂
Loving your episodes guys and yes at least the flies are not to bad down south but I would suggest to get some fly nets before summer
Yes we need to upgrade our fly nets for sure
Totally agree with Chelsea about the flies. I'm a West Aussie and I have done loads and loads of bush travel around the wheatbelt and south coast and have to say this year has been the worst by far for flies. I have no idea what's going on and just hope they disappear soon 🪰🪰
Thanks
Thanks so much Craig! Appreciate your support yet again 😃😃
Nancys peak is an easier walk if you went in the opposite direction!! Devils slide is really worth the effort
You need to do it
Hey guys - love the videos I have seen so far. Just wondering where you leave your gorgeous puppy dog when you go on walks? (Tossing up potentially travelling with out dog in the future hence the question). Thanks 😊
Hey! Thanks for watching, we leave juice in the caravan and have a dog camera we use to watch him 👍 he only knows the van so he's comfortable in there ☺️ any more questions flick us a message on instagram or Facebook 👍
Love your videos. How do you go travelling with your dog and the heat ? Do you leave him in the caravan when you go bush walking ? Can you run your AC for him when he is in the caravan. We are going to travel with three small dogs and always curious how people go with their pets. Thanks again and enjoy your travels. 😊
Hey thanks for watching!
We do leave juice in the caravan when doing day trips, we can't run the aircon off grid but make sure there is plenty of ventilation, don't leave it too late it the day and park in shade 👍we don't leave him if it's too hot in the caravan. It's his home and he doesn't know any different ☺️
The flowers you mentioned are actually the Paterson Curse weed. It was also clevelly marketed as "Riverina Bluebell" and sold at the Sydney markets to unsuspecting city folk lol. If you walk thru a field of it, it will make your legs itch like mad. If you pull the flowers off the plant, you can suck the sweet nectar out. We spent ages doing this as kids :-)
Hey Tony! Thanks so much for that info 😃 very interesting 👍🏽 appreciate the comment
Also called Salvation Jane for some reason
My wife did that castle rock walk at 65 with bad knees but was to short to do the sky walk
Nice work 😃👍🏽
Just nasty the flies in much of WA. we were amazed when we came to our part of Queensland and there were so few, so much so if you get one you name it 😊
@@plasmaDave yep the flys are next level in WA this time of the year
@CaravanAdventureAus we lived in WA for 20 years, almost always flies and then the midgies oh and the mossies, nice otherwise 😁
Wow, I have friends who live in Mingenew, and that bakery is awesome. You didn't visit Coleseam??
@@stephenmurfit800 it’s delish hey!
Hmm we may have but I keep forgetting all the names 😂 we drove through so many little cute towns
💕💕💕
Wouldn’t that Defibrillator be if more use at the top of the walk? 🤷♂️🤷♂️
You would definitely think so 😂😂 gotta run down and then run back up if you need it 🤷♂️
I’ve heard snakes are deaf, but they can feel vibration in the earth, so heavy steps more than noise. (Don’t quote me - it doesn’t hurt to cover off on both!)
🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰triggered yet Chelsea?
I don’t like them either😮
Safe travels.❤
They are the WORST! 😂😂
Another ripper vid!
Random question, several videos ago you showed us how to fix a clothesline to the awning arms, can you remember what video that was in? I am ready to install one on my van but cannot remember what video that was in!
Cheers guys!
Hey!
You'll find the awning clothesline install in the 'RUDE CAMPERS' video. Its from about 5 months ago.
Thanks for watching 😊😊
@CaravanAdventureAus thanks for the reply 👍🏽😎
21deg is shorts weather in Victoria
Just up the dirt road from the talc mine is huge motorbike statues u can sit on. I've done castle rock. I'm very unfit and made it. I just set the goal to do it
Oh really we must have missies that statue 😃 next time
Humidity in the Albany area is very high. It saps the energy from your body
😃😃
Lucky the March flys haven't found ya
Oh no 🥵🪰 haha
those flies are sooo annoying but its seasonal i think
Let's hope so, they're hectic!
Have you been to Tassie
Min in new
The Skywalk is great. We did it last December with our 4yo, he did the whole thing catching pokemon the whole way. It was funny passing people who were struggling with bthe 4yo idiot running around with a pokeball
I need the energy of a 4 year old catching Pokémon haha
Sounds like she was a walking wHinery.😆
Weed Patersons Curse
Yep struggling to make a positive thumbnail
💯 %
Unfortunately people don't watch them 🤷♂️ we have tried. The aim of this game is to get as many views as possible 👍
@CaravanAdventureAus you guys used to be positive, and that's what we loved about you guys. Now, with the negative thumbnails, you're making travelling look bad. If it is that bad to do things stop. I do understand it's for clicks. I click more on positive thumbnails as it is more believable, and it's not click bait. Sorry to say, but I put a thumbs down for the negative ones.
Carn a mah
Maaaate, givin Chels shit for saying talc slightly wrong - then you go and BUTCHER Carnamah.
@@CptnAwsmBalls love that you’ve got my back 😂🤪
thanks, Chels
It’s” min en new”. Essentially a silent g. Also it’s “. Car nar mar ”
