❤watching your episodes each week Sarah is like stepping into a tranquil garden sipping tea with a friend. So peaceful. Filled with so much love ❤️ and peace. So grateful ☺️ for your channel. Gods blessings in abundance in this transitional empty nesting season. It’s truly bitter sweet. ❤.
Your videos always bring me peace. I am learning to adjust to our empty nest after homeschooling all 4 of our children k-12. Our life has not gone as planned but watching your videos helps me remember God is in control. You have a beautiful ministry.
I really enjoyed your reflective musings on how life changes as we age, and your emphasis on embracing the changes. Every stage of life has joys and blessings and we just need to be open to them. After my children were grown I went back to school and became a teacher of young children. Now I am retired, and I'm a busy grandmother with lots of littles in my life again! I love your emphasis on nurturing, whether it be creating a beautiful home, tending a garden, or caring for the people in our lives. It's all wonderful!
Beautiful dress!! Since you asked, the dark lamp shades look much better. I also love the brown transfer platter and I think you should hang it where the flag picture was. Then you can see it. Your videos are so relaxing to watch! ❤
I'm moving into this exact season of life. I'm learning to be content in this new slower stage of life. It resonated with me. Even the small tasks of maintaining a home 😊 and still remaining creative.
Oh boy you sounded so much like me and I so relate. When my boys left home I couldn’t believe the emptiness I felt. I went from a house full of boys my two sons and all their friends to silence. Now they are in their 30s and I still miss my little boys. My youngest has a dog I helped raise and I pick her up everyday except weekends and pour all my nurturing on her and it’s wonderful she’s my buddy. The minute you put those lamp shades on I loved them. I think they look perfect with your bedding. I also changed my bedding for the cooler months this week. I live on the southern coast of Maine and leaves are turning already and it’s been getting a bit cooler. The kids went back to school this week and the tourists are finally thinning out . Iam surrounded by the ocean and walking Molly every morning at one of our parks on the harbor is a constant joy we both love. I never get tired of the stunning beauty and smell of sea roses and salty ocean air. When we go home I have coffee call my friend in Connecticut, and we read the Bible togeather and pray. Then I pick something Iam going to work on either in the house or outside Whether it’s organizing , cleaning , or decorating , baking ,going to library or thrifting . When I was younger I felt like I had to tackle everything all at once but I’ve learned to slow down and nurture myself by just doing what I feel like doing instead of feeling like I have to do it all in a day. I find just making even little changes makes a great impact and is so satisfying. Your pie filling looks so delicious. I go to a local farm for my apples how blessed you are to have your own. I love your dress! You look just beautiful in it. Thankyou for sharing have a beautiful blessed day 🙏🕊💕🌹
I enjoyed reading your comment. Empty nest syndrome sure affected us for a good year after our last left home. Gods grace is good through all of our changes in life.
I always look at your videos as a treat. All other videos I just came by and watch as needed. But your videos I make sure I take time to be able to sit quietly and watch the whole thing. I also like to make them bigger and I enjoy just getting a cup of tea or a cup of coffee while I'm watching... It's like a little treat for me. Thank you!
I loved your video! The 1% change in the house and garden every day was so inspirational. I try to look at one beautiful thing every day as well as make something beautiful in my home every day. As a homeschool Mom of 5 who are all grown and gone as well, I love to create and nurture and I'm never going to stop! ❤️
I absolutely agree with you dear! I am a homeschooling Mom to 5 as well! Only 2 younger daughters are at home during the day and I love to show them all the love and work on beautiful things together. I became a grandma last week …oldest daughter got married last year and now it’s another chapter/season in life. God is good!
Thanks for the message at the end of your video - Stay nurturing. My kids are grown and gone and live a distance. Admittedly, I've gotten away from nurturing my home like I used to when they all lived at home. Thanks for the reminder! I will dig out some of my favorite fall recipes and make them for my hubby!
I love your sweetness, you are adorable!! I think the lighter shades blend in well and they let your eyes flow around the room, and it soften your space. Yes, I have garden and took care of flower beds for 40 plus years, I am tired. This year I am reducing and removing landscape, no more gardens. I want to read, practice my art, decorate my home , focus on being healthy and fit I hope we are snowed in this winter, I would loved to have no place to go, just being home.
I Love the new lampshades in the space. I think the dark shades are too distracting from the overall cozy look and feel of the room. I really enjoy your channel!
Another beautiful video Sarah, would love more videos on empty nesting, coping and celebrating this new season I just don’t think there is enough content out there on this subject
This video really spoke to me. I didn't homeschool, but I did raise four kids, all of whom are in college or grad school now, and one that is about to get married! I can relate to what you have referred to as what you value now as these things are the same focuses of my life- pets, garden, home, simplicity, and quality. This was a joy to watch.
I also like the dark shades better. If you want to use the lighter shades, what about painting the lamps to match the bed frame or thrift some lamps that are dark or that you wouldn't mind painting for your seasonal "stash".
I like the lampshades, they do coordinate with the throw. Apple pie filling looks yummy. Good tips and idea. You are so right with the Goodwill and thrift stores, not good and expensive. Blessings.
Sarah, I think I prefer the black lampshades. They connect so well to your bed frame. Since I have reduced the number of days I work per week, I have taken advantage of spending more time in my garden taking care of all the odd projects and sorting through unfinished projects. It's very relaxing and satisfying to get these things done. Sarah, what is the name of the paint colour on the mantle in your bedroom? I think it's what I need for my dining room redo.❤ I love all your videos!
I understand exactly how you feel. I was recently asked, by my significant other, what I want for this part of my life and I answered with "simplicity and peace". And it's very true. My children are grown and making their own lives, and even though I miss their chaos, I'm also really enjoying the quiet.
Just got the teething 11 month old down for a nap after an unusual 5am start to the day. Your videos are always so encouraging to romanticize the seasons and slow down the busyness of motherhood. Thank you for sharing everything you do with us.
Love this video… I always held to all the little tips you gave… But I started to fall away from them sadly …so this video has given me the motivation to keep the little traditions and tweaks going🌻
Oh my Sarah, this video resignated with me! I am in a New Season and honestly have been struggling! But this video brought about New Creative ideas of Creating New Rythmns that i never thought of. As ive gotten older, i Crave the Simple Things in Life. Today, i ordered a New Rug for my Living room and im SO excited to Refresh Our Space!! The Autumn 🍁🍂🍁🍂 Season truly is a Time of "Letting Go of the things that dont Give you Joy". Its a beautiful Season to Reflect on. I hope you have a lovely weekend! 🍁🍂🎃🍁🍂🎃🍁🍂
Oh my goodness, your dress is so gorgeous! 😳 Keeping my eyes peeled for one of those! You’ve really inspired me with the pie filling, too. Our apples are almost ripe. I usually make a pie, but it would be great to have homemade filling on hand. Thanks!
I always learn something from your videos !!!! Layering whites is something I have not done but I’m going to try !!!!! 4 kids out of the house what a change !!!!! But quiet mornings are the best !!!!!!
Thank you for a wonderful video once again dear Sarah! I totally enjoy watching these…with a hot cup of tea and my family knows that it’s “Mamma’s time”. Usually it’s on Saturday early evenings when all the chores are done for the week. I resonate SO much with your video. We are homeschooling the last 2 daughters, still at home but 3 older children are all grown up and I just now became a grandma to sweet grandson! Life is so busy and I miss our times as a family but I also understand that life comes in seasons and this video was a great reminder.❤❤❤
I love the new shades! Very peaceful - very lovely and a more pleasing feel than the black ones in my opinion - but most people seem to like the black ones.
Sarah, I just love the way you share your home and your thoughts. I hope that you and your husband can make some new and fun memories together in these empty nest years. My husband and I have been empty nesters since our two children went away to a private boarding school for their high school years. Then college and marriage came along. We recently started to travel more. Our trip to Ireland in May and into the beginning of June was in celebration of our 40th anniversary. I love that platter and the dark lamp shades in the bedroom. You have such a lovely home.
My brother had a R ridgeback many years ago. I've shown him yours in the past. Today I got to show him the newbie. So cute. Did you have your canned apple pie filling recipe on last year? I did get one somewhere last year, but I made sure to sign up to get yours in case its different. My daughter and son in love are huge apple crisp fans. So easy to make it with canned apple pie filling. Love all your videos and I agree, dresses are not only easy, but they just make you feel nicer and more ladylike, especially in summer. Have a blessed Labour day weekend. Fall decorating starts after Labour Day weekend for me.
You look beautiful in your lovely dress! It's so much fun to freshen things and change them up. I love the gray lampshades, and how they anchor in your new wool blanket. Great video, as always! 😉😄
Apple everything is my favorite. Homemade oatmeal cooked with fresh apples. Apple gallette Apple pie Apple butter Apple cider Apples with peanut butter Apple cider spiced baked donuts too. I make those about once a year and share them. Very popular. The list goes on
Loved this season change video. Lampshades are beautiful but the dark ones looked so pretty with pillow for fall and winter. Either way looks pretty! I only had one daughter and oh my did my world change when she left for college....now I have 3 grand kids and 2 great grand children. God has certainly blessed us.
Hi Sarah!- just love the dress! I understand the empty nest feeling- mixed emotions. I liked the very relaxed feel to this video. Learning to live with Simple Abundance is so comforting. I think it has been very therapeutic for me to purge many items from my home. Quality over quantity. Less is more. I, myself, prefer the black lampshades- they ground the corners in my opinion. Wishing you a safe and peaceful holiday weekend.😘❤
I love your channel. It is so inspiring. I have entered that season you are in. I homeschooled all our children and now they are young adults and while I find it bittersweet, I have found I am struggling with my days. Knowing what to do. There is plenty!!! I just need to find a flow. I love the idea of doing something in your yard every day to beautify it. Do you have like a running list of things you want to do or inspiration?
❤❤Thanks for the apple pie recipe. We have lots of apples on our farm, so I'll be making this. My hubby loves apples and anything 🍎. The lamp shades look pretty along with your cozy bed. I really enjoy your channel. 😍🍂🍎🍏🍁
Sweet platter with wheat, so beautiful. I’m really in a Fall mood and finally the weather in San Diego is feeling like it may be here soon. Thank you for the loveliness. Happy Autumn
Everything looks so lovely, including you and your dress! I like the dark shades best, but the new thrifted ones seem like they would give more light going into Fall and Winter. I usually read in bed before going to sleep. We bought handloomed wool blankets at an art festival 40 years ago, and they still look new, and definitely are heirlooms. Thank you for the apple.recipe, that is a good o ne this time of year. We have orchards and farmers markets with apples!
What a beautiful, heart-felt video. Thanks for sharing how our walk through our life journey brings changes and new opportunities to explore growth. Savor, savor...
Sarah, sweet video! I like to refresh with each season too. Your dress looks lovely on you and I really enjoy wearing aprons. They are pretty and practical. Making homemade pie filling is quite the labor of love for your husband and family. Your dogs are living their best live with you. ❣
I so enjoyed watching your lovely video and always enjoy your videos because they are so calm and relaxing. I think if I have to choose between the lampshades I would pick the black. I love touches of black in a room, it’s just rich looking to me but I really like the gray shades too. They reminded me of wool and since winter is coming up they would pair nicely with a plaid throw which I adore. Your beautiful dress is just perfect for fall and looked so nice on you. Thank you for sharing your apple pie filling. What kind of apples do you use? I’ve been canning veggies for the last 3 weeks and would love to do some apples and yours look so yummy! Blessings, Debbie
I appreciate this video so much as I am going through the same stag of life also. Thank you for reminding me to take time to nurture the things I do have at home. Also thank you for the apple recipe. Our trees are loaded and I've just been offering the up to the neighbors. I am going to take the time now and enjoy making your recipe.
I enjoyed this video and especially appreciated your musings on nurturing every day. I too homeschooled and felt the need to find opportunities to nurture after that season ended. Thank you for the affirmation:)
Sarah, my heart skips with joy when I see you have posted. Thankyou so much for your thoughtful content. FYI watching your bedroom over the years, I was encouraged to change my light fixture to a chandelier and wow, it makes the room pop. You are right it’s little things we do that can make a big impact. Thanks again and looking forward to many, many more videos🌷
Love this - can't comment more - just that you spoke to my world right now and I will do better thanks to you and this video. Just what I needed - grateful!
I love your style and you are inspiring me how to decorate my home. I was thinking as I was watching you in your master room that maybe a lace/croshayed (apologies on spelling) doylies underneath the table side lamps would look pretty as an addition to add texture :)
Your dress is beautiful! I like both lampshades but in the Fall and Winter the black shades for moody and cozy vibes. Your apples look so beautiful, definitely going to make the Apple Pie filling! Love the video! ❤🍁☕️🍎🥧🪴
You have said everything perfectly! Even the empty nester season. It is bittersweet.
Thank you, Kim! You're so sweet!

You look beautiful in this dress. I like the scale, shape and darkness of the black lampshades.

@@janicel4960 wow ❤️. So beautifully said Janice. And so true. I hear your heart ♥️ and resonate so much. 🤗
Thank you for sharing, Janice!
You were so cute wearing that dress and carrying the basket of apples back to the house. It reminded me of Anne of Green Gables.:)
Oh thank you!
Yes Anne of Green Gables scene!!
Beautiful dress!! Since you asked, the dark lamp shades look much better. I also love the brown transfer platter and I think you should hang it where the flag picture was. Then you can see it. Your videos are so relaxing to watch! ❤

Dark lampshades for Fall! The lampshades and the pillow visually anchor that wall beautifully.
Black lampshades all the way, and that beautiful pillow on the bed just makes it sing!

I prefer the black lamp shades in your bedroom. They add so much more class in my opinion.
I like the light lamp shades as they seem to compliment your new throw. Makes the room tranquil and cozy!
I like the black shades best
I prefer the black lamp shades. The grey just seem too big with no imagination or beauty. Love all your blankets and your bed frame. Lovely.
Love your dress, home, new wool blanket and apple pie filling! What a beautiful life!
I'm liking the dark shades better, I think.

Thanks for the vote!
I like the black shades for Fall. The new ones have a Summer feel. But they both are beautiful in your bedroom.
Beautiful dress. Like darker shades.😊
Thank you so much 😊
Your videos have become a balm to my soul… God’s presence and radiance shines. Thank you Sarah 😊
Thank you Robin! ♥♥♥
Much prefer the black shades.
Your videos are always so nice to watch. I love the older lampshades best. I love how you love your fur babies! Thank you for sharing your recipe
Thank you so much!
I like the dark shades. They anchor and compliment the overall look.
Apple pies are my love language too!!! Love when the Mrs. is in the kitchen, in her apron with apple pie baking. Those are core comfort memories!!!
I like both sets of lampshades. You are right; the gray shades are a bit more modern, but I think they look great.
Lovely video update. The apple pie filling looks great! My family had a Rhodesian Ridgeback when I was 18. Great dog! ❤
Yes, we love both of ours!
I like the lampshades, they do coordinate with the throw. Apple pie filling looks yummy. Good tips and idea. You are so right with the Goodwill and thrift stores, not good and expensive. Blessings.
Thank you, Sharon!

Thank you, Jennifer!
Love the lamp shades. Looking forward to trying the apple pie filling
Love the dresses you wear. You have some pampered pups.💖
I love the new lamp shades!! Your home is beautiful!
What a beautiful, heart-felt video. Thanks for sharing how our walk through our life journey brings changes and new opportunities to explore growth. Savor, savor...
💗💗
Sarah, sweet video! I like to refresh with each season too. Your dress looks lovely on you and I really enjoy wearing aprons. They are pretty and practical. Making homemade pie filling is quite the labor of love for your husband and family. Your dogs are living their best live with you. ❣
Thank you!
Loved the video and embracing life changes. I prefer the darker shades, but as always beautiful style 🧡
Blessings,
Debbie
Lovely video. I really like the lighter lampshades better.
Thank you!
I'm glad this resonated, Julia! I hope you enjoy the apple pie filling!
So enjoy your videos. The dark lampshades are my favorite
Thank you!
I enjoyed this video and especially appreciated your musings on nurturing every day. I too homeschooled and felt the need to find opportunities to nurture after that season ended. Thank you for the affirmation:)
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you, Mona!
Love the lampshades!

Thank you for reminding us to embrace each season year in❣️
We all need the reminder sometimes, don't we!
I like the lighter lamp shades for spring and summer and the black for fall and winter. Love all you’ve done.
I like the lamp shades ! ❤
I’ve requested twice for the canned apple pie recipe but haven’t received it. I did receive the beautiful art prints though. Thank you! ♥️
I like the thrifted gray shades tying in with your Brooklinen blanket ❣️
I love your style and you are inspiring me how to decorate my home. I was thinking as I was watching you in your master room that maybe a lace/croshayed (apologies on spelling) doylies underneath the table side lamps would look pretty as an addition to add texture :)
You make life such a pleasure to live!
What a lovely compliment, thank you!
So Beautiful, your videos are so inspiring and uplifting😊❤
Your dress is beautiful! I like both lampshades but in the Fall and Winter the black shades for moody and cozy vibes. Your apples look so beautiful, definitely going to make the Apple Pie filling! Love the video! ❤🍁☕️🍎🥧🪴
I hope you love it!
