Yes it was. A brtilliant aircraft in its day, and would have been bought by the U.S. Navy if politics hadn't got in the way... here is a great documentary about the 'Bucc'; th-cam.com/video/-8XqHBMU67k/w-d-xo.html

F-111 regularly flew lower than 100 ft. Used to collect bushes etc in parts of the airframe.

On Holiday in the Scotish Highlands back in 1990 used to, mostly, hear these going past on low level training missions in the mountains. They were so fast, by the time you heard them they were gone. Did see one or two though. Another reason you'd seldom see them was because when you hear one the instinct is to look up when you should have looked down into the valleys.

Gotta thank the tornados for our new roof, they made (relatively) low level passes over our house, back in the 90s (we live not far from a large military training facility) and the apparently shook the roof of our house a bit so they had to pay us a new one. Still standing strong. Plus: Much better than the original from the 60s. Thanks.

Don't blame you, its a bit of a... harsh edit of the original music that's been taken out to avoid Content ID. These Castle Vision documentaries tended to have 3 or 4 music interlude sections to footage, that have mostly been cut out here for the same reason (The original run time was closer to 55 minutes).
The documentary would originally open with Red Rocks and an extended section on the F3/ADV would play out to Don't Look back, both from CHAPAV81_Alternative Rock, which was a stock music collection.

Tornado is still a very efficient airplane, that is obedient to its rules in air warfare!

@@militaryaviationtv Thank you for the reply. I must have been in one of my philosophical moods. However, when you think about it, every piece of military hardware, from a spear to an aircraft carrier, is built to kill or destroy and, in so doing, run the risk of suffering the same fate. One day, perhaps, if our species can make it that far, we will realise that such things are abominations.

Should have been retained and modernised as it proved beyond all doubt, it was recognised as one of the best all round planes produced. Not like the USA, Britain seem to have a habit of mothballing planes stating upgrades are not viable, what a load of BS. Anyway, it was rewarding to see Germany retain their Tornados and should be commended for their decision recognising the greatness of the Tornado.
