I commend Miss Kenya's answer. Although she got the most difficult question among them six but she didn't failed to answer it with grace and intelligence.
Kenya got the toughest question, and if she didn't handle it well enough, it would backfire on her. She did answer the question articulately and eloquently.
Kenya tho. Her question was the hardest, shes not even american citizen but her answer makes sense. Shes really witty. She managed to answer that.

The way Miss Colombia answered her final question gave me chills. She faced the audience like she was already Miss Universe, with an aura of certainty but a basic, down to earth humility. And she looked utterly beautiful. What a fine group of finalists!

Haiti deserve it more than Kenya.
Kenya is smart and eloquent. But got an unfair question. A Kenyan answering a political question about another country’s politics. There should be a committee that reviews these questions if they are fair and appropriate to each contestant. How do you think Colombia or Haiti would answer a political question about the presidential politics in China or Germany?
Despite the question, I think Kenya delivered a good answer. She should have been in top 3 in my opinion.

American bias showed with that question. It's an American production and organization, but they forgot that the event and purpose is international and therefore neutral. But Miss Kenya did a fine job. Very real and respectful. She is also very beautiful.

Imagine the pressure Maxine had during this time. People were expecting a back-to-back after 43 years and also, Miss Universe 2016 happened to Philippines. We have to look on her efforts to get through all of these, the expectations and the bashing.

Personally, I think she handled the pressure better than Gazini did following Catriona 🤷 she had to deal with following Pia AND being the host delegate. It was simply not her destiny. She nonetheless did her best and that is all that can be asked of her 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Philippines sent wrong representative, if Catriona Gray i believe can back to back like Venezuela in 2008-2009!
@@bayuadrian1638 You can put Catriona Gray, Maxine Medina, Kylie Verzosa, Nicole Cordoves, or even the disqualified contestants before Bb. Pilipinas 2016 coronation night in Kim Ross Williams and Janelle Olafson, and it still won't make a difference.
No country other than the United States and Puerto Rico has ever won Miss Universe on home soil with Brazil being the closest when Priscilla Machado finished as second runner-up in 2011.

Philippines 🇵🇭 she wasn't able to deliver her answer well but did a great job.
Kenya 🇰🇪 she was killing the game until the question ruined her chance to advance in the next round. She is kenyan not american.(robbed)
Thailand 🇹🇭 Ms. Thailand her answer was lack of expand has something lacking. But she did very well. Could be a great miss universe
France 🇫🇷 Gave a great answer no doubt.
Haiti 🇭🇹 Her answer was going far from the question but what makes her question shine was her confidence.
Colombia 🇨🇴 she gave a great answer as well.
Either one of them would be a great Miss universe sad that it will be only one of them🇵🇭🇰🇪🇹🇭🇫🇷🇭🇹🇨🇴
So disappointing to see that even after 5 years, toxic pinoy fans are still bashing Maxine up to this very day. Leave the girl alone, she did her best that night and with all that added pressure, she didn't have it easy at all.
Maxine did her best to be on the top 6. She is one of the best as well.

Here , Miss Kenya Mary Esthere got the Hardest question (imo) even though she is not of American nationality also she didn't have much idea about American politics, she was able to answer it . Which is why i think she deserves to be in the top 3.... 👍😊

For the 1st time in History we used an interpreter.. but its ok we should be proud of our language
-ish, di naman nagamit talaga eh. Maxine should've took the chance to use an interpreter, since she was more comfortable in expressing herself in Filipino. Naka trigger lang talaga nun Yung mga criticism na na recieve Niya before the competition na Hindi daw siya magaling mag english, and I think, that pressured her, and didn't took the chance to use an interpreter to deliver her answer which is sad Kasi di nadeliver ng maayos answer niya :(

Her answer is so flimsy. There are so many significant changes in the last decade: social media, communication, information overload, mental depression, going green initiatives, people’s diet, dating, apps, cosmetic beautification and aging, celebrity culture, influencers, technology, medicine, LGBTQ+ movement, pollution, etc. THERE ARE SO MANY. Just pick one.
And she picks “Miss Universe” as the MOST significant change she’s seen in her life past 10 years. Wow. Good thing she’s pretty.

Right translation - Ano ang pinakamakabuluhang pagbabago ang nakita mo sa mundo sa nakalipas na sampung taon?
It didn't matter because Maxine speaks English fluently and was only using the interpreter to buy more time, and she still messed it up.

i just realize how they need to rework these questions. kenya's question was COMPLETELY irrelevant to her. WTF!!! she took time to assess so she can clearly give a proper answer. it was unfair!! but the way she answered it was honest.

You can tell she really wanted to win. She was low-key upset when she won 2nd runner up only. I think she was so passionate and determined to win to bring the crown and honor back to Colombia because of what happened in the Miss Universe a year before when Steve Harvey announced Colombia as the wrong winner.

Maxine did a great job, representing a country at miss universe is a huge deal specially representing one of the most powerhouse country at miss universe. We knew that Maxine has a lack of capability to communicate but we're so proud of maxine. Being one of the finalist is already an award.

In this round, France clearly made a relatable statement/answer. Philippines lacked substance and composure. Thailand answered great had she expounded and gave a powerful ending she could have entered Top 3. Kenya's answer was good but the question didn't gave her justice.

Philippines had one of the easiest and most predictable questions in a beauty pageant Q&A and this is her answer?? Thailand is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and the most beautiful of them all but also an uninspiring answer, with a somewhat hesitant reply. They should have spent more time prepping for the Q&A and less time on cat walking.
Kenya had a totally unfair question that’s close to impossible to answer objectively without coming across like a political partisan. These questions should have been banned.
France is so calm and collected and confident with her answer. Not an easy question at all but she managed to pull together a coherent reply while being completely unfazed. And had quite a bit of detail in her answer. Bravo and a deserving winner.
Haiti didn’t really answer the question but her entire demeanor is personable, pleasant and she came across as a smart, empowered and confident person.
Colombia very good answer - also a very difficult question.
France and Colombia did best here. Philippines and Thailand unfortunately the worst. I had v high hopes for Thailand to win.

The current MU from South Africa, Zozi Tunzi is really the standard of How to answer a question on the MU stage. I hope ALL future MU's take note of how beautifully and intelligently Zozi responded to all of her questions.

Miss haiti doesnt need an enterpreter. She nailed it.
Ang sayang ni Miss Philippines dito no, pero syempre hindi naman natin pwedeng ipilit ang kakayahan ng isang tao. But instead of nakapaghihinayang we still have to thank maxine for doing the great job and were still in the top incomes of pageantry.
Miss Philippines should answer in her native language. She is beautiful. Miss Thailand should advance to top 3.

I really love it but when she came out in that dress, i knew she'snot gonna win. That's not a Miss Universe Gown but I have to admit that it's very beautiful.
I saw her wearing an all-red gown before the finals. Yun dapat yung sinuot niya sa dito. This gown she’s wearing is kinda meh to me. Visually parang putol yung style ng damit. Parang two-piece na pinagdikit. natakpan yung magandang figure ni maxine. yung silver upper part ng gown niya parang fancy breastplate that gives her figure an illusion as if meron siyang extra ribs na tumatama sa tagiliran niya. Nababawasan yung appreciation mo sa curves niya because of the abrupt cut between the breastplate (silver) and bottom part of her gown (red).

Ang "most significant change" ay "pinakamabuluhang pagbabago" hindi "pinakamabuluhang pangyayari" and sinagot naman ni Maxine yung sinabi nung interpreter na ang "pinakamabuluhang PANGYAYARI" na nakita niya ay yung mga tao na nagtipon-tipon bilang isang nation at nagka-isa para magbigay ng suporta medj pangit at kualang nga lang yung delivery kaya yeah baka nga mas better parin pag nag tagalog na lng sya.
My 3rd, 4th, and 5th runners up here:
3rd Runner Up - Kenya. That was a great answer. She just got the hardest question amongst the six.
4th Runner Up - Thailand. Maybe not a great answer, but she delivered well.
5th Runner Up - Philippines. She didn't deliver well with her answer.
