Acht Pendragon one of my friends made a custom 1/100 astaroth but he kinda.......he basically scanned the runners somehow and upscaled them the mad lad he even did it so the plastic was solid so it cost him about £700
Gundam Dantalion. Hands down the t booster is one of the best accessories to come out of ibo. It can go from sleek to monstrous with those arms attached and i just love that gunsword.
Honestly I just wish they'd release a perfect cowl version, with the shield and B-booster so you can have the Perfect Cowl version, I'd buy the shit out of that lol
In my experience, the HG Gundam F91 and Crossbone Gundam are pretty amazing kits. The HG Wing Gundam and Wing Zero are proof that Bandai needs to continue with the Wing line in HGAC form.
I love the Astaroth origin, great pick! In my opinion the HG Man Rodi is one of the underrated kits ever. Sure, the design isn't for everybody, but the engineering is almost flawless and articulation is great!
My favourite build was definitely the MG Sazabi Ver Ka. The hand parts may not have held anything well, but hell that kit was a beast. The build was never boring with all the frame parts and awesome colour separation and the end product looks spectacular, even as a straight build.
The Hg Zudah please for this series. Mainly because it has a really unique design and for those who like big weapons, it comes with a Sniper thats the height up to the waist of the PG Banshee Norn and its a great kit with a straight simple build
Ummmm...the gray part on the tail fin isnt the cockpit Mecha Gaikotsu lol. The cockpits on all gundam frame are next to the reactors at the front. Regardless nice to see you review this kit and lookin forward to the next!
The HG Age 2 Normal was one of the best HG that I've built. It is sturdy, super well articulated and requires minimal stickers to look great. Most if not all AGE kits were fantastic and people really need to give HG AGE the credit it deserves.
I adore my HG 1/144 G-Bouncer kit from Gundam Age. It's a solid build with good weapons. The only thing is he has the pink beam effects for the sabers that have to be stored separately when you have the handles in his side skirts.
The reason for why I like most of the kits I have listed below, have to do with how sturdy they are, and how poseable they are. 1/144 HG & RG: HG Barbatos Lupus HG Barbatos 5th form HG Grimgerde HG Astaroth Origin HG Shiden - despite the crappy ankles it's a good grunt kit. HG Try Burning Gundam - the effect parts are just beautiful. I still have the fire parts on the body of mine. HG Kamiki Burning Gundam - same as the Try Burning, along with how poseable it is, and the part separation is pretty amazing for an HG. The only negative thing about the kit is the sword and sheath. You'll have to put in the extra effort if you want to display it with the Gundam. HG RX-78 Gundam Revive HG Crossbone Gundam Maoh - you get a good number of accessories with the kit, and let's face it, this is the most badass version of the Crossbone appearance wise. RG Exia RG 00 Raiser RG Quanta RG Gundam MK II AEUG - I just like the color scheme more than the Titan version. It's also my second (not first) RG. The kit is stable for the most part. I had to super glue the lower arm armor on, but it's one of the few older kits that have stood the test of time. RG Aile Strike - same as the MK II. This is my first RG kit. RG Astray Red Frame 1/100 MG: MG RX-78-2 Origin I only have three MGs so that's the only one I could pick from. I do have the Wing and Deathscythe Gundam Ver. Ka. Wing Would have been on that list if it could hold the buster rifle without modification. The Deathscythe Ver Ka has to be the worst kit that I own. I had to superglue just about everything together on that kit.
Usually I'll keep posing them until I find a pose that I like, and leave them in the pose for awhile till I get bored with it. My Aile Strike and MK II are my older RGs and I haven't had issues with the frame. Mind you I have owned them since their release. I know RGs are infamous for having fragile frames. My RG Destiny isn't doing well when it's not on a stand. The legs on it can't hold the weight anymore. It seems to be the kits without much back weight last longer than the ones with the heavy backpacks which makes sense.
Altron Gundam! The best kit i've ever build is the HG Gundam Kimaris, I love the color, the weapons, specially the lance and the shoulders are awesome.
For me the best HG I built was the ReZel Type-C due to its shelf presence, its articulation is great despite the old shoulder joints the kit uses, and its backpack and shield can make use of the extra beam effects you get by connecting them into the barrels. The Type-C is certainly the best in the ReZel line despite having some trouble standing straight due to its backpack.
Altron gundam! The best kit I've built so far is the 1:100 Grimgerde, absolutly no stickers, strong and yet very possible inner frame and just an amazing design.
Garazzo-Gaddess-Gadessa. Great articulation, unique weapons, unique builds, unique silhouettes, few stickers. Also, seconding the 1.5 Gundam seen in the comments. Very unique look as well, doesn't have the issues of the Reborns, very few stickers, neat flight pack, everything can be stored on the model, weird little mechanisms like the knee armor, etc.
Altron Gundam! My best gunpla building experience were MG Hi Ni Ver Ka and MG Sazabi Ver Ka. I'm personally a Seed Fan, my favorite Seed kit that I've built would be MG Infinite Justice Gundam and Buster Gundam
The MG RX-78-2 The Origin is a must for me. Easy build for an MG and is a perfect representation of the original Gundam. Most of the RG line is great too, especially for people who don't paint. Also the Ver. Ka Nu Gundam is one of those kits that is actually perfect right out of the box. It's a long and tedious build but totally worth it in the end.
my all time fav for IBO series definitely the gundam Vidar...jus badass look and fantastic other fav also included barbatos lupus rex, Strike Freedom and Over Flag
You haven't got to review HG Hyaku Shiki Revive. It's so good it should be considered as an action figure instead a model kit because its amazing build quality, sturdiness and articulation . The color maybe not for everybody, but color aside it's brilliant. As for kits I consider one of the best I've built so far is, HG Kimaris Trooper. Nuff said. Excellent color separation, great articulation, build quality and accessories. Not to mention the glorious MG-ish panel lines... it's one of my Top 5 IBO HG kits.
RG 00 Raiser, virtually a perfect kit with amazing articulation, a bunch of weapon options, and an overall solid kit which is saying something considering it's an RG
my vote for a BEST gunpla kit would be the RE/100 Gundam MKIII. out of the box and only panel lined and its more than beautiful and solid. Of Course it has the same cursed problems that come with the RE/100 line, loose points on the shoulders and waist etc etc. But past that, stylistically, its a model of a mobile suit we've never seen in model form, and its done well!
I fanboyed when i saw the kamina poster and yoko figure on display. Btw, this year is Gurren Lagann's 10th anniversary and there is a manly kamina figure (probably already sold) that perfectly captures kamina's manlyness for a huge price to celebrate Gurren Lagann.
I recommend the hg Astraea from gundam 00. Its essentially another exia but has less blue and no yellow on it and comes witha ton of left over exia parts which includes the exia's weapons. some of my other faves are like you said the hg Barbatos Lupus (which I kitbashed with the rex, video of that on my channel), Hg Gn-x, Hg Hygogg, and hg Gundam local type.
I think this is a great idea for a series. The best MGs I own are probably the Freedom 2.0 or the Sword Impulse. For HGs I am super pleased with the Zaku II from The Origin, it has so much detail, posability and accessories for a high grade kit. There's also another HG I own which I have no idea of the name or what series it's from but it's black and gold and looks very circular with a pink mono eye, he's pretty great too if you paint the vomit coloured gold it comes with out of the box.
For me it has to be the revive strike freedom, it was my first Gundam seed kit and it was a blast to build~ though that spot might be taken by the age FX but I still have to wait for it to come from the mail XD but until then, revive strike freedom was my favorite kit to build~
The kit I've enjoyed the most, and the best overall package, is the HG RX-78-2 Revive. That kit looks already good out of the box, and is one heck of a gateway drug to Gunplas. It's a very nice interpretation of the RX-78-2, has perfect color AND part separation (except maybe the weapons, but we do get long beam blades and a yellow piece for the rifle's scope), there's just the right amount of lines to panel, the shield mounts very well this time around... And it's dirt cheap! I simply love it. If anything, I wish that Bandai will do a remake with an IBO-style inner frame in the future. The RG version really shows the flaws of the RG line.
The astaroth origin is one of the best looking HG, i agree. But on the playability side, it's pretty hard to pose when extending those wings because they are so awkwardly positioned. Also I vote for the Blanche. And I suggest you check out the HGUC Rx-78-2 revive, hands down my favorite HG kit.
The absolute best kit I've ever built is the MG Turn A. That's the perfect kit: stable, wide range of posability, fantastic detail, and a perfect amount of accessories. It's only held back by it's own mechanical design and not having the Moonlight Butterfly.
The MG Nu Gundam ver Ka absolutely blew me away. Everything about it from the actual build to articulation is absolutely amazing, especially the details. Similarly the MG RX-78-2 Origin blew me away for pretty much the same reasons, the build, ESPECIALLY THE ARTICULATION, and the perfect amount of detail made it an amazing experience. The GM Sniper 2 is pretty fantastic kit for the same reasons, but I feel that it could've used a bit more detail.
It doesn't hold up perfectly these days, but back when it was first released, the HG Strike Noir blew me away. An entirely new mold with better proportions than any previous Strike model, added waist, shoulder, and wrist articulation that none of the very homogeneous other SEED and Destiny kits ever had, and actual clear beams for its anti ship swords(there were a few other kits here and there that came with proper beam effect parts, but it was still a time when toothpicks with a hand molded in were unfortunately pretty common). The fact that it was just a really cool Gundam didn't hurt either. The HG Strike Noir was arguably the beginning of a sort of HG Renaissance where most HG kits overall started improving and continually being made with better proportions, articulation, etc. throughout 00, AGE, and evolving all the way up to the much higher grade High Grades we've come to expect today. For the awesome impression it made when it was brand new and for the higher standard it set that future kits would later follow and even surpass, the HG Strike Noir will probably always be one of my personal favorites.
HG is a close call between the HGAC Wing Gundam or the Hyaku Shiki Revive. In terms of price, range of articulation and colors out of the box. I personally go for the Wing Gundam! Has surprising amounts of detail despite its size too. for MG, Proto Zero. RX 78 Origin is close but the Proto Zero was a super fun build.
Am I the only one here that thinks this kinda looks and functions like the Infinite Justice? The Astaroth Origin wing pack DEFINITELY reminds me of it.
Unpopular opinion bit I LOVE the Barbatos Lupus Rex. I know it isn't color accurate out of the box. I know it's unique proportions are a bit off putting for some. But the Barbatos Lupus Rex is my all time favorite Mobile Suit, maybe even my favorite robot!
MG Altron plz? The best MGs I've built so far are the Nu Gundam ver Ka and the Hyaku Shiki 2.0. I think I'm gonna get the Sazabi ver Ka once I come back from Japan. Also, the only HG I've built so far is the Build Burning Gundam. Have I been living under a rock?
HG Qubeley revive is the best in my opinion Very minimum stickers, nice color separation, fun to build, superb articulation, and the only minus is because the funnel effect parts sold separately and p-bandai
I was debating on buying this from my local hobby store yesterday but ended up going with the hg Barbatos instead because it was $5 cheaper. after watching this video I kind of regret doing that
If we're talking about the design, building fun, accesories and overall quality, I think this is the best from IBO line, followed by the Kimaris Trooper. For the cool factor, Vidar is the winner.
You can't be surprised that Bandai's GunPla line are top of the line in terms of out of box building. I mean they've been doing it for over 30 years so you'd expect them to be amazing at what they do. 1:45"It looks good. It feels good." *That's what she said.* ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) The HG IBO line up might be great, but they're great in terms of HGs. I'd like to see the IBO line up getting a Master Grade treatment. I voted for MG XXXG-01S2 Altron Gundam (EW Ver) for the next kit to be reviewed.
seriously, i wanna see a review of that impulse blanche, and one more thing, u kinda forgot about the gunpla showdown series(idk if u rlly forgot about it, thought it was pointless or any other reasons)
You really thought the MG MSN-06S Sinanju (Ver. Ka) was the best? I am not a UC fan but I've heard that more people preferred the MG MSN-06S Sinanju (OVA Ver) since apparently it addressed some issues with the MG MSN-06S Sinanju (Ver. Ka). Perhaps consider purchasing and building the MG MSN-06S Sinanju (OVA Ver) and then seeing if your opinion changes?
The ver ka and ova are basically the exact same, ova has SLIGHTLY different colours (never even shows up on camera) and is made with a different kind of plastic
Yeah.. OVA and Ver Ka are almost identical.. Some small color changes.. different kind of plastic (Ver Ka is lighter) and yeah.. both had some issues (waist peg was fragile, mine is still fine) But I found the build really fun! And it's still my fav mobile suit to date. Was really on the fence on buying the Stein also.. but it's not as sexy as the Sinanju
I don't know why, but I think Astaroth deserve at least a 2nd lead gundam in main storyline.
I really wanna get the 1/100 version of it
Same, I just love astaroth origin so much
@@kyumazu1926 he deserve his own anime series..
Acht Pendragon one of my friends made a custom 1/100 astaroth but he kinda.......he basically scanned the runners somehow and upscaled them the mad lad he even did it so the plastic was solid so it cost him about £700
I dont remember seeing this gundam in IBO
@@abrenvillanueva8623 go search the comic man, its gundam tekketsu or something if i m not mistaken
come on gaikotsu you said it yourself the Tristan is a masterpiece
Gundam Dantalion. Hands down the t booster is one of the best accessories to come out of ibo. It can go from sleek to monstrous with those arms attached and i just love that gunsword.
Honestly I just wish they'd release a perfect cowl version, with the shield and B-booster so you can have the Perfect Cowl version, I'd buy the shit out of that lol
HGUC Gyan Revive is one heck of a masterpiece. Articulation is perfected on that kit. I had so much fun posing it.
In my experience, the HG Gundam F91 and Crossbone Gundam are pretty amazing kits. The HG Wing Gundam and Wing Zero are proof that Bandai needs to continue with the Wing line in HGAC form.
Altron! The build burning is probably my favorite gundam. It had so many optional parts, a ton of posability, and minimal sticker usage.
Matthew Lavides just like the Rx 78-2 with posability and stickers
I LOVE IT
Your reviews should be following this format from now on. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it.
I love this kind of format. Please feel free to do more of this style.
I love the Astaroth origin, great pick! In my opinion the HG Man Rodi is one of the underrated kits ever. Sure, the design isn't for everybody, but the engineering is almost flawless and articulation is great!
I ordered this yesterday as my first gunpla kit, now I'm even more excited to build it.
Truly is an awesome kit! One of my favourite 1/144 HG IBO kits! Great review as well!
My favourite build was definitely the MG Sazabi Ver Ka. The hand parts may not have held anything well, but hell that kit was a beast. The build was never boring with all the frame parts and awesome colour separation and the end product looks spectacular, even as a straight build.
Best kit I've built so far is the MG Sazabi Ver. Ka. Amazing build.
Hobby Volt best kit ever
I'm happy now. I ordered this kit without any knowledge on it but it seems to be a winner!
The Hg Zudah please for this series. Mainly because it has a really unique design and for those who like big weapons, it comes with a Sniper thats the height up to the waist of the PG Banshee Norn and its a great kit with a straight simple build
Three of my favorite HG kits to date are the Gouf Custom, the Jesta and the Leo.
Glass Bob Amen
What happened to the Gundam Throwdown Round 2? O3O
P.S. Neat Yoko on the top of your shelves there ;3
So far of the five kits that I've built so far my favorite was the shaldoll custom
3 years later and checking in, do you still think Astaroth is one of the best?
In terms of kits that I've loved, The Sinanju, and the Sinanju Stein are tops on my list.
Here in 2023 because i only got into gunpla last year and discovered your account! I live this kit, is it still available anywhere??
Yeah, I’ve found multiple offers on Amazon and a couple on Gundam and hobby-based sites
Yeah, I’ve found multiple offers on Amazon and a couple on actual hobby-based sites
I adore my HG 1/144 G-Bouncer kit from Gundam Age. It's a solid build with good weapons. The only thing is he has the pink beam effects for the sabers that have to be stored separately when you have the handles in his side skirts.
HG IBO 1/144 Grimgerde & Graze: Looks good, minimum sticker usage, and nice armor separation at the knee (which is rare in High Grade)
RG mk 2 has always stuck with me as one of the best. Solid and fun build. Looks amazing.
What a coincidence just bought mine yesterday, Astaroth Origin is truly one of the best :)
The reason for why I like most of the kits I have listed below, have to do with how sturdy they are, and how poseable they are.
1/144 HG & RG:
HG Barbatos Lupus
HG Barbatos 5th form
HG Grimgerde
HG Astaroth Origin
HG Shiden - despite the crappy ankles it's a good grunt kit.
HG RX-78 Gundam Revive
HG Crossbone Gundam Maoh - you get a good number of accessories with the kit, and let's face it, this is the most badass version of the Crossbone appearance wise.
RG Exia
RG 00 Raiser
RG Quanta
RG Gundam MK II AEUG - I just like the color scheme more than the Titan version. It's also my second (not first) RG. The kit is stable for the most part. I had to super glue the lower arm armor on, but it's one of the few older kits that have stood the test of time.
RG Aile Strike - same as the MK II. This is my first RG kit.
RG Astray Red Frame
1/100 MG:
MG RX-78-2 Origin
I only have three MGs so that's the only one I could pick from. I do have the Wing and Deathscythe Gundam Ver. Ka. Wing Would have been on that list if it could hold the buster rifle without modification. The Deathscythe Ver Ka has to be the worst kit that I own. I had to superglue just about everything together on that kit.
Mr Zark RG and sturdy?! What kind of sorcery is that?!
I haven't had any issues with the RGs listed other than what I said about the MK II.
Mr Zark GunplaS2 said RG are fragile amd thry do seem like that...are you posing them often?
Usually I'll keep posing them until I find a pose that I like, and leave them in the pose for awhile till I get bored with it. My Aile Strike and MK II are my older RGs and I haven't had issues with the frame. Mind you I have owned them since their release. I know RGs are infamous for having fragile frames. My RG Destiny isn't doing well when it's not on a stand. The legs on it can't hold the weight anymore. It seems to be the kits without much back weight last longer than the ones with the heavy backpacks which makes sense.
I painted mine in my favorite colors, Magenta and sky blue replace the red and gray, the upper arms and hips are black.
He looks awesome that way,
Altron Gundam!
This series is gonna be pretty good
HG Reborns Gundam. Really good joints, excellent articulation, and so much more.
Mg full armor gundam from thunderbolt you didn't do a second part.
It's a long and tedious build but totally worth it in the end.
my all time fav for IBO series definitely the gundam Vidar...jus badass look and fantastic
other fav also included barbatos lupus rex, Strike Freedom and Over Flag
You haven't got to review HG Hyaku Shiki Revive. It's so good it should be considered as an action figure instead a model kit because its amazing build quality, sturdiness and articulation . The color maybe not for everybody, but color aside it's brilliant.
As for kits I consider one of the best I've built so far is, HG Kimaris Trooper. Nuff said. Excellent color separation, great articulation, build quality and accessories. Not to mention the glorious MG-ish panel lines... it's one of my Top 5 IBO HG kits.
Blue Desitny Unit 1; fantastic kit, great articulaion, a great modern build
I love Gundam OO and all its variations, especially the High Grade Seven Sword/G and i combine it with O Raiser. MARVELLOUS !
RG 00 Raiser, virtually a perfect kit with amazing articulation, a bunch of weapon options, and an overall solid kit which is saying something considering it's an RG
My personal favourite of them. So much swag.
Hg line will be Astrea type F for me. Never got tired of looking at it eventhough it stands beside my RG's on the shelf.
try/kamiki burning gundam definitely has to be here. they look amazing and have god tier articulation
I was thinking of getting this HG but I was on the fence!
Now I think I will pick it up!
my vote for a BEST gunpla kit would be the RE/100 Gundam MKIII. out of the box and only panel lined and its more than beautiful and solid. Of Course it has the same cursed problems that come with the RE/100 line, loose points on the shoulders and waist etc etc. But past that, stylistically, its a model of a mobile suit we've never seen in model form, and its done well!
You must continue this series dude!
as usual you make great reviews and go into alot of detail thanks for another great vid
Since it's the 'Origin' i kinda wanted it in the classic Gjallerhorn colours of the Barbatos and Bael. But i do adore the kit.
Kimaris Vidar is my all time fave in HGIBO line I got him & I love those drill knee
This is my first gunpla and I love it
I think this is a great idea for a series. The best MGs I own are probably the Freedom 2.0 or the Sword Impulse. For HGs I am super pleased with the Zaku II from The Origin, it has so much detail, posability and accessories for a high grade kit. Impulse Blanche. The MG Impulse kits hold up really well imo, the sword impulse is one of my favorite builds across all grades
The red is beautiful 😍
This looks even cooler than the Astaroth Renasimento!
HG STRIKE NOIR! Or any of the newer Strike kits
MG Blanche would be awesome! I was really surprised in a good way when I built the MG Ball (08th MS Team ver)
The absolute best kit I've ever built is the MG Turn A. That's the perfect kit: stable, wide range of posability, fantastic detail, and a perfect amount of accessories. It's only held back by it's own mechanical design and not having the Moonlight Butterfly.
But it makes it up by having a cow as an accessory
The MG Nu Gundam ver Ka absolutely blew me away. Everything about it from the actual build to articulation is absolutely amazing, especially the details. Similarly the MG RX-78-2 Origin blew me away for pretty much the same reasons, the build, ESPECIALLY THE ARTICULATION, and the perfect amount of detail made it an amazing experience. The GM Sniper 2 is pretty fantastic kit for the same reasons, but I feel that it could've used a bit more detail.
awesome man :D make more video of this series. i'm gonna use this series as a base for my gunpla collection dude :D
Those shield on the shoulder are reminded of EVA's
So great 👍
I have astaroth one and waiting for advance Reginlaze for fight with ^^
Unpopular opinion bit I LOVE the Barbatos Lupus Rex.
Kaido Fuchimoto you're going to love sazabi ver ka the best MG so far imo, also try the rx 78-2 ver3.0 it's pretty awesome imo
reynalda marsetya I'm gonna get the Sazabi ver Ka once I come back from Japan. He would make a superb companion piece with my Nu Gundam ver Ka.
Great review and i want to see mg impulse gundam blanche
HG Qubeley revive is the best in my opinion
Very minimum stickers, nice color separation, fun to build, superb articulation, and the only minus is because the funnel effect parts sold separately and p-bandai
I like alot of the build fighter gundam cuz its like a custom version of past gunplas
HG Reversible Gundam is my favourite one so far.
Interesting choice
This was my first kit. Definitely a good one!
It would be awesome if you did the MG Psycho Zaku from Thunderbolt review, such a huge kit
Awesome review! I just built it
The mg build strike is one of the best kits in my opinion
I have to say the astaroth rinascimento is the best release from the side manga so far
You can't be surprised that Bandai's GunPla line are top of the line in terms of out of box building.
I mean they've been doing it for over 30 years so you'd expect them to be amazing at what they do.
1:45"It looks good. It feels good." *That's what she said.* ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The HG IBO line up might be great, but they're great in terms of HGs.
I'd like to see the IBO line up getting a Master Grade treatment.
I voted for MG XXXG-01S2 Altron Gundam (EW Ver) for the next kit to be reviewed.
I love the dantalion and lupus Rex and grimgerde
It looks very cool but o don’t trust the upper body it’s looks like is going to split
seriously, i wanna see a review of that impulse blanche, and one more thing, u kinda forgot about the gunpla showdown series(idk if u rlly forgot about it, thought it was pointless or any other reasons)
Just made my ez sr love it so much
I hope they make a 1/100 scale of the side-story manga.
Mecha Gaikotsu: showing off astaroth origin
Me: questioning about why he have a bunny girl figure beside it
hi mecha i was wondering what happen on your the gundam throwdown 2016
Known for having a Eva Shoulders XD
Pls review HGBF amazing strike freedom
This kit was my first and am making the vidar
Damnit i can't find this in my country 😔
Best kit I build was MG Sinanju ver Ka.
If you ever get a chance.. get that!
Some small color changes.. different kind of plastic (Ver Ka is lighter) and yeah.. both had some issues (waist peg was fragile, mine is still fine)
But I found the build really fun!
And it's still my fav mobile suit to date.
Was really on the fence on buying the Stein also.. but it's not as sexy as the Sinanju
What about some of the BFT kits? Kamiki Burning Build was a fun one.
How’d you get that left hand for the shotgun? Mine only comes with a right 😩
