btw this is perfectly playable in drop B or even drop C since he never uses anything lower than the 2nd fret and doesn't play any open strings in drop A#
unless I missed something lol

ah yes i thought of this,
the reason why its not like that is because it would have a lot of uncomfortable (in my opinion) open strings.
Also, the song as it is now does contain a few open strings.
