    why did Anubhav belittle ISI involvement?
    What is agenda of Netflix and Anubhuv Sinha to not credit ISI and their hardwork and planning, take away their successful Hijack?
    Why left leaning journos, like others not taking about this cheating of credit from Pakistan?

      It was a total failure of Vajpayee govt.. then the attack on parliament followed by army build up and doing nothing, eventually we lost many soldiers in mining and demining. However I feel the makers of thiscweb series should have shown the Real face of terrorists and pak involvement

      @@sammishak4035they did show ISI and Pak involvement at the beginning they also hinted at Taliban involvement when Manoj pahwa says sab hi ek chatte bhatte hai. You have to understand the series only spans over the 6 days hijacking. They wouldn't have had all the information in that 6 days.

      See any movie on 9/11 and they will show you first half on how it was planned by attackers. But this series just shows in 30 seconds and never touchbase directly on ISI involvement except the “hints”. Makers ended up pointing it happened due to “intelligence failure “ and not due to ones who planned it

    • @hfmcdocs4541
      @hfmcdocs4541 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    • @User98052
      @User98052 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hfmcdocs4541 That was shown as speculation. Then why its shown in the entire series that Indian officials are making “ISI” as scapegoat only to share with media as they had to share a name? Even the mastermind is shown to work closely with Laden and the direct involvement is highlighted than showing any characters or showing atleast for few mins how iSI planned it.
      Ofcourse it was govt and intelligence failure but it was “planned” by ISI and they are the primary accused and not indian agencies

He has retired during ic814, he volunteered to talk to the terrorist in amritsar but wasnt given permission, he had foiled two similar hijacking in amritsar which didnt make news and very few people know. Fascinating conversation. I liked the fact that Barkha was measured in her analysis, isn't looking at 1999 from the lens of 2024. Mistakes were made by stakeholders but such was the era of the 90s, we were still pretty much in a learning phase in each facet of our country's growth. Such a hijack was unprecedented, and we were not prepared to take quick action in a matter of minutes. We forget that the world had decided to stand against us in that time.
    Perspective matters.

In credits, and I think last 2 episodes - the real names of hijackers were revealed. Barkha, since you covered this event, you should watch the show before conducting or giving the interviews, so that it would make the conversations richer. Furthermore, what as a viewer I gathered from the show, that AQ was the mastermind in this hijack and ISI was a smaller player. I agree, I think Musharraf was trying to save his face from the Kargil debacle through this.

    When Bharkha talks about 26/11 and IC814 she mentions that the government should communicate and it is not right to put the blame on media, "she was reporting what she saw". However when it comes to movie making story telling or series making which is based on books written and of course so imagination of the storyteller, somehow they are asked questions on whether it was right. It feels like hypocrisy when people from one profession question someone but when it comes to their profession they don't want to take the accountability.

Easy for me to say it today but still it is very childish immature (and unpatriotic) behavior by family members. IF family members had not made the scene outside the PM office or news reporters had not televised it live... The Indian government would not have been under such pressure to save passengers at "ANY COST".

    As a viewer, I did not see the whitewashing of the ISI & that’s something I’m happy to debate this with Vir Sanghvi and Barkha too, the latter anyways hasn’t watched the show. Secondly, I’m a little shocked to see such senior journalists have such poor knowledge about how biopics / autobiographical works are made. The filmmaker has got the rights to the captain’s book and the rest is a recreation basis research. If you are expecting that those negotiating etc should have been shown as per their real names, are you aware that that would require taking rights from each person? Are you aware of the cost implications of that? The same would be true of the passengers, hence no real names used there either. I would urge senior journalists such as Rahul ji and Barkha to better inform themselves of how films are made before making such statements that can blind side the audience. I found similar things happening during the death of Sushant Rajput when basis a report that he was to do a film with Vashu Bhagnani for 10 crores, ppl started demanding where that money had gone and that Rhea Chakravarty ought to be investigated for that. Are we truly in a world where we believe that a producer hands this sum to any actor as a lumpsum without a contract? A mere dialogue with anyone in the film industry would tell you that actors only receive a signing amount that doesn’t exceed 15% and then the payment is given at various stages of completion of the film going up to a similar amount right until the release of the film! So if a film doesn’t release or has a delayed release, the actor won’t get paid until that. Anyways I digress to prove a point that in the absence of true critics such as Masand etc, it is now up to journalists and social media influencers to critique these things when they truly aren’t aware of the process of film making.

    Just to give their own sorry careers importance they keep saying it was a seminal, significance, important event in the history of India based on a series that they didn't care enough to watch. How hard are these two folks working to become painfully incoherent. The country dismantled the plain, people had moved on. This Anubhav Sinha character is someone who has learnt to milk from forgotten or difficult to forget moments of our collective memory. if the country wants to forget you want them to remember, why?

    I think it is dishonest as a journalist of this caliber to not watch a show and still continue to comment about show’s representation and motivations. It can only happen in India.
    In the series, from the very first episode it is shown that hijack was a ISI plot. It shows a brave R&AW officer trying to unmask the plot before it unfolds. ‘Bhola’ and ‘Shankar’ has been used a handful time in the series only.
    The series is based on a book and if director of this series did not do justice to the novel it should be brought out as a misrepresentation and not a crime
