The "Uh-oh! Warning! Brent's found a guitar!" bit.. totally killed me
I don't look at what things say
Gervais is a master of creating awkward situations which just make you want to cringe, you forget that it's even acted.
...And then forgetting how to do it.... in a film... which he said he'd never make
Shutuuuup, It's only banter!
But he still needs Merchant.
I'd say he and Steve Carrel both are great at this, but Gervais might be the best
Sasha baron Cohen
From the comments section. Some people believe that his character is real.
Last time I saw that rapper he was selling Jay and Neil spliff puff in a rock club.
That is good weed
Can you roll it for us aswell?
Ah can I have some gum?
And I saw him on Russel Howard's good news
Sort me out geezer
'''Whaddya want? Rum and coke?...Red-stripe?....Lilt??'' haha. That bit cracked me up.
Zack Sleeps Different drinks for different...needs.
Despite Gervais' usual humor, it's actually quite heartbreaking to discover that the blind date didn't work out.
Ryan Cooley what are the odds a blind date leads to a relationship lasting years?
awww they seemed like they really liked each other as well :(
No dog with you today?
@@stevechristie2569 been with my Mrs 10 years. Sometimes it works
Just tell yourself it’s not cannon.
The funniest use of the word 'Lilt' in history
Well noticed
Funny but the finale of The Office (British version) was so perfect and left David on a potentially happy note that I hate to be reminded of what probably happened to him.
Yea, would have liked to think he ended up with that hot blind date. But I guess it is fiction.
@@bansheeofinisheerin the movie is good
@@genderbender6958 The movie is shit.
At least the movie clarified that he did have someone who knew him well and cared for him and he appreciated her

Rum & coke? Red Stripe? Lilt?.......One OJ comin' up baby
Always loved it when he did the accent on the xfm shows, no way babyyyyy

"This can be like Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. Better because you can see what you're doing".
"Lady with the flaming hair - she was ginger" lmao
"Lilt" I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a single one word line before.
That look to camera at 6:26 speaks a thousand words. Ricky is an absolute legend....
Thought the same
Reminds me of the video for lady gypsy :D
Plus the sequel at 6:51
the attention to detail is just amazing. The fact that he walks into the studio first then the handshakes at 4:41 are just so
awkwardly brilliant
6:12 - the boots had me in hysterics. They'd go perfectly with his Sergio Georgini jacket 😂
With the tight sock and overflowing mega white leg
Absolute genius. The dramatic pauses and the way he labors points are the best thing about it. Rum & Coke and Red Stripe/Lilt had me in stitches.
I was born into the music industry - my dad worked at Our Price.
You have to watch it over and over to pick up everything.
Ricky can make anything funny, just saying the name of a drink like Lilt or saying "I got that, from Halfords"
when he shakes hands in a studio It's so subtle, but so hilarious. That's genius.
The bartender is perfect
Love the way he respects him so little he doesn’t give him a full pint. A very British way of saying your a prick.
Never ever forget that Brent fused flashdance and mc hammer!
MC Hammer Shit
Probably put some drum n bass shit on it nowadays
Need to add the shit
So close but yet so far..
And he spurred texas on
Much like Coogan with Alan. It's great to see Ricky doing other stuff but it's amazing to see just how perfect and 'at home' he looks playing Brent, it's like he was put on the planet to do it.
I come from a music background. My dad worked at Our Price. Brilliant!!! 😂
“The lady with the flaming hair”. “She’s ginger!” Hahahaha 😂😂😂
"Black - I told ya" I missed that until just now. Fuck's sake! :)
Sergio Georgini.
So nostalgic.
The "steel drums?" -"YEEEP. YEP" kills me every time. Such amazing delivery.
I think we all have a little Brent in us,it makes me cringe when I recognize it
A little Brent in us ? No possible fucking way.
No mate
As an actress said to a bishop
I’ve always said that, so the 136 likes are for me, in a way. I say like for both the author and for my original idea that probably inspired geekrockrats to post it. Both excellent comments, leave me out of it

"One O.J. coming up..." XD Brilliant
"I was born into the music industry... my dad worked at Our Price."
Absolute classic brent.
I didn't think he could get more cringe worthy
But Gervais delivers again.
Amazing.
The 'what /has/ happened?' around 1:50 feels so genuinely sad. Inspired bit of acting
"Biddlybong?" "Definitely."
Ark at Jimmy Saville here ^
@@stevechristie2569 Yeah, pull yer fucking trousers up boomer.
Lol best line!
Steve Christie I was 31 now I’m 33!
@@rinkydinkydragon1 30+ we deserve more cred!
He even acts awkward handshakes perfectly😂
When he did "She's the Serpent who guards the gates of hell" it brought a flood of nostalgia... of discovering Ricky Gervais and The Office as a kid, and then showing that episode to my school friends and all of us laughing. That song plus seeing that Ricky even got his old Brent haircut made me feel glad to see this video.
"i was born into the music industry, my dad worked at our price, I never met him"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
OI, Brent! Is all you care about chasing the Yankee dollar?
And I don't agree with that in the workplace
can you blame him, this is David Brent your talking about'
Brent is not motivated by money, he is haunted by crushing loneliness and wants everyone to understand what a great person he really is. His ultimate goal even though most probably obscured from himself is more likely to be some form of connection I would think.
@@QWERTY-ri5yw you're*
His leg up with those socks and dress shoes slayed me
What sort of bunse is he making? Bunsen burner... nice little earner. Hence the... bunse.
Not that much of a bunse because the film "David Brent on the Road Again" was a box office bomb and lost 7 million.
@@PreservationEnthusiast Lost £7M.......I find that hard to believe, by that account it cost at least £7M to make?
@@JamchesterBoozle Budget was 10 million and it took 3 million at the Box Office. Therefore it was a Box office bomb. It may have made more at other outlets, I don't have the figures.
@@PreservationEnthusiast Wow I stand corrected......10M budget what were they thinking - typical Brent 🤣
@@JamchesterBoozle The figures I got were from Wikipedia. I think two people financed it, Netflix and a BBC film unit or something like that. Gervais probably persuaded them it was going to be a huge hit on the back of the Office and Extras. But without Merchant, I think the plot and side characters are lacking. A shame because the music is good. I can see it being a cult hit in years to come.
When he said 'Mammogram' I lost it :)
PLEASE MAKE MORE David Brent MOVIES!!!
these are sooo funny, and so was life on the road!!
Pissed myself laughing when he started doing the biddely bong
No one can make me squirm like Ricky Gerais. He rides such a fine line between comedy and tragedy, amazing writing and performing.
Comic genius. Nothing compares to Gervais’ creations with Brent being the pinnacle.
Got every single Ricky Gervais dvd box set, he's my hero and always puts a smile on my face when I'm depressed as fuck
can't wait for life on the road! The brent character is so well written and acted by ricky, a simple character but so tragic and in a way oddly inspired!
It sucked
@@GoGetYourShinebox yeah what happened? This clip was amazing, the film sucked other than parts like the don't make fund of the disableds song

Quite sad. You can see where Brent’s broken soul comes from. He loved that girl and proposed to her and found her shagging someone else. A glimpse into how Brent was made.
That's if Brent ever pulled her in the first place...
What's sad is that you are analysing a fictional character.
norman chamings not really sad mate
@@normanchamings8156 What's sad is you're too stupid to appreciate nuanced writing, now piss off and watch Love Island with only your hand for company, dickhead!
False, he wasn’t referring to that girl. He wrote the song before he met her
I would love to go out on the town with brent, at least he tries his best and doesn't mope around. He's positive, obviously he's meant to be a bit arrogant but generally he's nice. ps I know he's a character and not real ha ha.
exactly. just a wally with a good heart. know a few.

Peter Kearney hear hear
As Stephen Merchant said “he’s not a bastard. He’s a tit.”
@@squirtermcguirter1502 he sold out his staff, he's a bastard. Gervais and Merchant are too in love with their own creation.
The fear and defeat in his eyes when he says "What has happened?"
He suddenly looks very old.
I have watched this soooooooooo many times.......I love it!!
You can see Brent slowly turning into Derek.
jacklavalette How?
"So can all you lot rap then? Could Trevor McDonald rap if he had to?"
Oh shit, this is rib cracking.
That was funnier than expected....
No way, thats his brother in law from After Life! Love that
When he walks into the studio he introduces himself “David Brent” before his act walks in. You should always introduce your talent as you want their name to stick in minds not yours. So funny and excellent writing.
“I don’t look at what things say.”
😂
omg. we finally got to hear the serpent who guards the gates of hell song
love ur work ricky
Absolutely fantastic
Brent's found a guitar, Brent's found a guitar! Such a ledge!
"I don't look at what things say, I know what they feel like though"
Need a Brent greatest hits album, including experimental B Sides and unreleased gems.
I loved every second of that
I see Gervais and I start laughing....He`s BRILLIANT!!
I need to know more about this Mammogram character.
Fun with breasts...not tragedy 😅
I've seen Doc Brown live and he was incredible. I'm so bloody happy David Brent is at it again!!!!,
This takes me back over a decade. the BEST...
Ricky has a natural knack for making people laugh.... i could have the worst day of my life but he cheers me up! love this kind of entertainer!
The chilled out kind
Basically a chilled out entertainer.
The 'Lilt' and look at the camera is absolute comedic gold and I don't know why
When I was growing up Lilt was advertised on British TV for a few years by a couple of dancing Afro-Caribbean ladies. I think Brent's use of "Lilt" was an allusion to that, what with Dom being of, I assume, Afro-Caribbean heritage.
It’s funny because it’s Brent thinking he’s being inclusive! Those 3 drinks he mentions are Caribbean drinks. Rum, Red Stripe lager and Lilt is/was branded as Caribbean.
9:03 them 2 "YEPS" kill me everytime
Seeing this was like being a little kid again at Christmas, opening the bestest of the best presents! I love David Brent.
"red stripe,lilt?"
Brilliant.
Brents humor is honestly so perfect for me. I never laugh out loud more than when im watching this character
I'm expecting another 10 year update in 2023.
This will never get old!
“Probably the best pub in the neighbourhood”
Yeah .. 'cos of you, Brent.
I swear that every single time i click on a Ricky Gervais related video there's just a bunch of people who don't get it. It's satirical, we are laughing at the kind of people he is portraying. He is poking fun at them, and laughing with you.
MEarhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhherhehrhehr
Yeah but i know a guy just like him! It's hard to laugh at this when you have to put up with bellends like him and the fact that he's playing gigs to dozens of people.
One of the best of programs.
I love how meta bits like this and the music video in The Office and the Staff Training episode are. It's Brent, but it's also Gervais saying - "yeah, I was a musician, and I could have been something", a nod to the Seona Dancing days.
"Its perfect, 'cause its mega racial, but anti-racist."
-David Brent The Great
'I was born into the music industry. My Dad worked for our price!!!'
Even at the end he runs after him... brilliantly subtle
Bravo sir !
Love how he is wearing shoes with a MASSIVE heel!
"Don't wear the shoes..."
"I wasn't going to wear the shoes!!"
Are they having a go at that as well?
The villian from popeye?

This 10 minutes, is better than the entirety of Life On The Road. Which isn't saying much.
