I love the hug between Doc and Bobby Jones after winning the title. Great moment.

Doc is in my top 10. I actually saw him play back in the ABA. Arguably the greatest that league ever had. Great vid as always.

It ain’t aguebaly. The aba was Dr js playground. It was him, then Big A artist Gilmore. Then there’s Mel daniels. But Dr j was the man in the aba.

Unless you actually saw Julius Erving play live, you can’t imagine how great he really was
He was not one just to put up great numbers he was a total team player
The only person in the 70s who may have been cooler than Dr. J was Jimmy Hendrix
How do I feel about Dr. J’s abilities, I put them in a category of Willie Mays, Muhammad Ali, simply one of the greatest athletes I’ve ever seen, and an even classier person off the court

I agree with everything you said, I didn’t realize how classy he was until I started this TH-cam channel

I knew of Dr.J before ever seeing a professional basketball game as him and Bobby Jones were featured on the back cover of comic books in the mid-late '70s..i became a BB fan in the 1980 season watching those two play together...then came the '83 squad my favorite team ever..Doc , Bobby , Mo Cheeks may be 3 of the classiest players all time

@@BU_TV no it was on a lot of marvel comics...I read more of those then DC so I'm pretty sure it was marvel comics...

Still my favorite athlete of all time. I saved up 45 bucks to get the docs and my parents paid the rest. 65 dollars in 78 but even the rich kid didn't have them. I love the Doc!!!

He did a commercial for an investment firm. It was the first time I saw a black athlete pitching to old rich white guys. And they listened to him not because he was a baller but because he was a smart man. Very respected guy.

Moses was a beast on the O/D boards.
Moses Malone was the first to play professionally directly out of high school in 1974

I remember while attending UMass, first time in the CAGE, there were two championship flags hanging. That was it.. no coincidence they were during Julius Erving's 2 years spent there!

I saw DR.J’s whole ABA NY Nets tenure. His prime years. He was the best player not named Kareem. Dr.J is my top SF of Alltime ahead of Bird and Lebron!

@@BU_TV I feel that in the finals and conference finals that he lost the other HOF centers like Parrish,Walton and Kareem outplayed&dominated his centers until he got with Moses Malone. If Erving had Malone since the merger he would have won 5-6 championships in the NBA!

Pause. Got to say this before you get into the video itself. You are in for a treat. Clayton knocked it out the park with this one. I hope you enjoy, and it is always a pleasure to hear your perspective on your vids.
