I am from Saudi Arabia who works in real estate,buying property is not available to foreigners currently in KSA but hopefully soon, the real estate market is a little lower than most of the US, for example you can buy a 3 bedroom apartment in the hottest area in Riyadh for 2 million Ryals so about 500k dollars, but when the law of foreign ownership changes I think the market will blow up, and you are right Riyadh is pretty smiler to Dubai, the difference is you may see more Arabic Islamic culture because alot of the people in it are in fact Saudi people, but Dubai on the other hand have more foreigners than Emirates, hope to see you soon

Buying property in bay area with 2-3% yearly ROI doesn't make any financial sense when you have a profitable business (normally business should return at least 30% to be viable, or 50% for more or less good growth)
