I've interviewed a ton of entertainment types and whenever I have a bad interview its either because a) I didn't do any or enough research or b) I forget to just talk to them like a human being. These guys/girl did both.
I love when Norm says its going well after they say its not. He doesn't give a shit. He's not the one asking the bad questions.
"This is going nowhere fast." "Wow, this isn't really going that well." "This is not going good." "I don't feel like you want to be here." These horrible people, trying to INDUCE some kind of bombing.
This makes me really appreciate how great Howard Stern is at interviewing. Norm has been on Stern so many times and the conversation flows like for an hour and it's totally fucking hilarious. These clowns obviously don't know that Norm is a totally dry, sarcastic, and...fucking classic!
Exactly! How can these hacks not "get" his roast jokes and accuse him of "not being funny"? Have they never heard of Norm MacDonald before? Yikes, morning radio is painful.
If you don't get norm, you have no business interviewing him. When they all sounded confused by norm's set on the roast, they showed that they don't understand his comedy. It was too far over their heads. Do your homework, hacks.
These guys are pretending to feel sorry for Norm and even sound condescending but they seem to be oblivious to the fact that Norm is doing his act with them as his bitches. What a horribler bunch of losers. The woman even has the nerve to say Norm's stuff wasn't funny, as if she's doing him a favor letting him know he isn't funny. Of course, Norm has the last laugh. Losers: he's inteviewing YOU.
with the exception of howard stern (in his prime, at least) and a lifelong buddy of mine, i think fm radio personalities have to be the most odious people on the face of the earth. i worked at clear channel for the majority of my teens and it was far and away the most depressing job i've ever had. miserable, humorless people with massive fucking egos. norm is making very little effort to hide his contempt here, and it's refreshing.
I think norm was fuckin with theese guys. Norm said that if he don't feel a crowd is good than he'll bomb on purpose cuz it's funny to him. Norm was great ! Even when he's totaly waisted out of his mind.
Norm McDonald just answers questions honestly and isn't a fake hollywood type bullshitter and I guess to these lame hosts, that came off as him being hostile. It seems he prefers comedy to evolve naturally on radio shows rather than force corny energy but they weren't bringing much to the table. And no, he doesn't talk about SNL in his stand-up, the monologue they were referring to was from when he hosted SNL over TEN YEARS AGO. Also, the Saget roast was hysterical and wasn't hard to "get."

oh my GOD.
That roast he did was one of the best ive ever seen
"i got my jokes from a book called how to insult your boss at a retirement party"
"Oh kay...."
norm is the funniest guy alive
If you don't get Norms jokes, it's because he doesn't want you to.
The "because I didn't want to have sex with you when you were pretending to be a woman?" line made this interview worth listening to.

Girl interviewer: "Did you do it on purpose? Because it wasn't funny."
Geez.
"I just feel like you dont wanna be here"
"why cause I didn't want to have sex with you?"

Norm outfoxed yet another!
Wow those hosts were boring. They gave Norm no reason to wake up.

yeah that was insanely offensive, especially in that condescending pseudo-matriarchal tone.
how can you "not get" his bob saget roast? Only real dumb people did not get the joke. His act was brilliantly bad.
Yeah I couldn't believe that she said that. It blew my mind.
Those stupid radio guys be out of a job by this year!
I think you hit the nail on the head.
i've just been listening to louis ck, probably explains it

Well, she'd be almost Norms type, but not quite, then.
lmao
