The diagram shows that the leds are connected in series connection, which means if any of the leds is not working the others won't work, you can check with one fail by using multimeter on diode mode
Regarding the PV1 video as comments are off this is the only way to contact yon. is it possible to get pics of what was actually done and the connections made on the power supply? thanks
Hi there I was hoping you could help me with some info on the pv1 subwoofer.Could you tell me if it is possible to power it with a 12v power supply and if it's not too complicated how to do it. Sorry to bother if you have the time and thanks for an interesting video.😊
You can not power the complete PV1 with a 12V supply, for using it in a car. That would have been nice. The PV1 needs 80V 6A and +-12V. A solution could be to use an external 500-1000W car amplifier with subwoofer filter built in ( a 120Hz Low pass filter), and connect that directly to the speaker elements of the PV1. The PV1 is a sealed box, so getting the wires trough the enclosure could be a problem without creating an air leak, but its possible. This will bypass all electronics inside the PV1.
Kjetil, what is normally failing when the LED lights don't light fully, "half" or not at all, or just sometimes? I have read the all the comments. I have problems with both sides of the tail gate! Are the boards of the same type both for the corner lights and the tail gate lights?
Normal way to fail is that all LEDs go totally off. They are connected in series, so when one goes out, all LEDs goes dark. But everything is possible, These electronic led modules can be bought on the Internet. Sometimes probably easier than replacing components: www.amazon.com/Everbuilt-63213404103-63213404104-63217162211-63217162212/dp/B07X1MTQR6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3HUVTFJR35TIY&keywords=bmw+x3+e83+led+tail+light+module&qid=1668576312&sprefix=bmw+x3+e83+ked+tail+light+module%2Caps%2C217&sr=8-3
@@kjetiljaasund Excuse me, I forgot to mention a fundamental thing, my E83/X3 is a 2008/LCI model. I opened the tailgate light and found out that there was now glow light for the three "stripes"... But I didn't check if there was 12 v on all cables. Sometimes only one side is more or less dark, and I don't know for how long there have been some problems, but I observed it recently.
thank for your method but now I found it is difficult to take out the fail LED from it's socket, did you cut both the led and its socket or tip-off it? or any method to take out led from the socket ? In addition, the spec of LED is 3mm/50mA(max)?
Cool. I did not know that. Thanks for sharing. @@kjetiljaasund Those are the ones that I found too. I have purchased them today, as I discovered this morning that my driver's side LEDs were out (not the 2 side marker LEDs though). And by the way, thanks for this video!
Thanks so much! I was able to identify and replace two failed LEDs. Having access to your schematic was super helpful.
Happy to hear😀👍
Thanks man, i didnt know if I could fix it without cutting

Yes, correct. Or measure voltage when it's connected. All voltage will be over the broken led
It is fixed, thanks a lot sir 🙏
Do You have part number/description of the LED?

You are a legend 🙌
Thanks for manual. Great job. Seems i have same problem.

Hi! Thanks for video!
The leds size of 3mm or 5mm? The leds color red or white?
I dont remember. red 3mm LEDs will do the job

Tail gate uses regular glow bulbs and corner uses LEDs, if I remember correctly

You have to use a soldering iron, and you need knowledge on basic electronics repair.
Or a radio/tv/electronics repair shop help you
thanks, I used soldering iron to desolder fault LED and put on a new standard LED then it works : )
Thank you bro
I got my replacement boards on amazon with 1 day shipping it was like $20
