I purchased the same flute that Erik is playing in this video. It has such a soothing deep mellow sound. The Deep Forest Flute is an awesome way to melt the tensions away from a long day out in the busy world. So glad I purchased one!
HI Rick: Thanks for the sweet note. Some of these flutes need extra care. Keep away from a heater, a hot car or extreme cold. Some Mineral oil inside would be good, some coconut oil outside. Keep in bag when not in use if its cold or very hot. Don't leave in the sun. Have fun! Erik
I have a collection of your pieces I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking with you at the Florida Renaissance Festival I was hoping to see you there 2019 thank you for the wonderfull instruments they are beautiful works !!! Tom Goetz
Hi Tom in 1995 a gentleman walked up to me at a Renaissance Festival and said," If you get a website, the world will come to you." We did get a website, retired from our craft shows around the country and our flutes go out all around the world. Sometimes advice is very good. I do miss my interactions with those that came to hear my funny flute Spiel. Erik
The sound is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Is the flute completely hollow like a bansuri? The bamboo node looks closed near the blowing hole. Happy fluting!
Hi Mr Erik the Flutemaker . Do you have one exactly like the one in the video and how much it would be with the posting to Montréal , Canada? Thanks in advance!
We just sold the video flute but I have another like it. I think it cost about $40 something to ship up there. Some of our Canadian customers pick up in the USA where it cost $12 to ship. Regards, Erik
Interesting, so you were able to make a deep bass flute by using bamboo that is wider in diameter, so it doesn't have to be too long and it's easy to play. I was wondering, how come bass bansuri flutes are always extremely long, which makes it almost impossible to play them, if the same can be achieved with a thicker bamboo?
The Bansui players like their octaves and usually a fat flute will give 1 1/2 octaves. Flutemaker Bless has done some great work with big fat long flutes that give 2 octaves. True most bansuis that are big are very hard to play.
What are the notes on this flute?? I’ve been wanting to buy this for years now. I always come to this video and the other deep forest video to listen to the music at the end.
Each one is different. So the notes change with the root note or key the flute comes out in. Feel free to continue our chat at info@eriktehflutemaker.com thanks! Erik

Do you have these for men’s medium hands?
Yes, but short arms seem to be an issue.
Erik? What wonderful flute of yours sounds sounds similar to a metal band flute?
The closest may be my Low D Irish Flute in Carbon Fiber.
