Actually, that less a tripod and more a stand. A tripod has adjustable legs, which are kind of important if you are on anything other than a level surface....

Brother as long as it has three legs its a tripod.. Tri-pod.
You saying that, is like saying a wooden ladder is less of a ladder because its does not have adjustible legs.
