PLTY is on Fire. I was hesitant but got 600 shares at $65 and its up to $85.60 atm. Less than a month and gained $12k in capital appreciation and that doesn't include one distribution of $1800. This could turn out to be a good anchor fund. Palantir seems to be a strong underlying stock.

@@easydoes-k9f Yeah, i was hesitant because it started out at $50 bucks, that would have been insane growth for an Income Fund lol.

@jonathan16183 No, its an income fund and its paying $3 -$4 a share each month. Will just collect the disbursement and wait for it to drop below my cost average to puck up more. Want to get to 1k shares.

I hear you on MSTY, and i used the limit feature to buy another 10k of MSTY at $25.99 when it was dropping

I'm getting around the capital depletion by buying 5 shares of SCHG each week. It plays a tiny dividend but dominates the S&P and is diversified. Also if NVDY crashes, when it hits close to the bottom I start buying NVDX (NVDA 2x etf) to ride it back up. I play it safe and every time it's up 10% I take profit.

Once I start getting more income I may also start buying something more stable but I need more income first.

Welcome home, John. It might be worth another look at ULTY. I know you bought at inception and recently sold because of overall performance. BUT...they changed their strategy last October, and it seems to be working. I bought $525 worth on Dec. 13 (baby portfolio still), and the dividends returned in January and February equal 12.5% of what I invested. Currently on DRIP, and if it falls below $5/share they'll have to do a reverse split...but so far doing well based on when I bought.
I'll keep you posted as time goes on; may yet lose my shirt.

I don’t have any major issues with ULTY but I do have CONY that pays the same week so I decided to ULTY and wait for better price on something that performs better. It may find a spot in my portfolio again in the future just not right now.

You can live off yield max but you will need to reinvest a portion of it. Maybe use 50% to put back into the funds and live off the other 50%.

If I could only invest in one covered call ETF, it woild be XDTE. It is also 100% return of capital for 2024. Yield Max's funds are not even close to being that tax efficient. I still have YM funds, but Roundhill and Kurv are killing it on taxes.

CONY and NVDY I have it paying me cash and holding off on investing more for now. Still planning to buy MSTY and some more weeklies. Also going to pull some cash out to pay a few bills off. Yieldmax started a 0DTE 500 fund now SDTY, I have 6 XDTE and 6 SDTY to start both are weeklies as well. I have 500 QDTE and 443 RDTE building the RDTE to 500 shares before adding more to XDTE with the distributions from QDTE and RDTE.

    • @TheDividendNomad
      @TheDividendNomad  17 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

My guess (not a fact ) is that you’d need to reinvest something like 70- 80% for trying to live off yieldmax funds. Just my thoughts but for example if you need $5,000 a month to live probably better make $20,000 a month (5k live, 2.5 tax , 12.5 reinvest )

I have this question. If you include taxes for the dividends are you still up?Because if your total returns are 4% for example includind dividends you could actually be down if you didnt take taxes into comsideration

I may be wrong, but the portion of the ROC distribution will likely reduce the cost basis. Selling out of the YM funds, at least in the short term (Cony has ROC 45.58% Oct. 2024) might
      impact your tax negatively.

Yeah that low week is usually like .05- .06 but it has less erosion and pretty stable and for the month it’s usually around 0.60 or so.

How can u live in China and have a brokerage account with schwab?
Don't they ask for your residential address when u open an account?
    Or how does that work?

Well, as a USA citizen I’m allowed to have USA investments. I have income in USA from other sources and pay tax there. I have book sales , TH-cam revenue and some other income from some business I do there in America.

Schwab supports Chinese people using a Chinese address to open an account, and foreigners living in China should also be able to use a Chinese residential address.

Yes for sure. Have to build up some more but I haven’t made the move yet or deployed my cash into this account as I’m not 100% sure how I want to approach it. So I’m being very cautious and conservative for now.
