They are straight garbage lol. The sport suspension is way better. The off road suspension is absolutely terrible. 😅 the off road 4 runner is also awful.
Installing my leaf springs was a SOB. I couldnt line up the holes until I realized I should losen the U bolts on the other side which allows the axel to move. Lined up immediately after that.
Roadhouse. I liked the German measuring unit on the Japanese truck as well! Awesome video, and really worth the wait so you can talk about what works, and what did not. It’s easy to get lost in advice-sometimes ya just gotta learn for yourself. I have those shocks on my 4runner (Bilstein springs front and back). The ride is so nice. Agree about bump stops-anything beats oem.
Great install vid. No steps skipped, very informative :) My truck is starting to squeak up front after a 130k miles. Probably needs some suspension love.
Very similar. The 6112s are a bit firmer. I’m happy with both. Hard to know small differences because the 4Runner is just a better riding vehicle in general.
Those bilstein 6112s don't come alive until you really push them. So when you get to a point where you think thats it you push them even harder and the ride changes. It actually takes a lot thought, i wish they softened up sooner. I have to be flying to really feel them get confortable. I would also strongly suggest you get the 5160s with the 6112s. Amazing setup for the money
@@JasonExplainsThingsgo with the 255/80R17 they are a better all around tire unless you go sand wheeling a lot. The smaller contact patch has more traction. I’m looking to put 255/85R16 on my ‘23 TRD OR so I don’t have to lift and won’t rub as much as 285’s, and can use my stock rims though I am looking at Volk TE37T’s in a 0 or -10 offset.

Both are great and have their own benefits. The easy adjustability of the Eibach front coilovers is a plus. Bilstein 5100's and the Eibach 2.0's are very similar. The 6112's are slightly firmer. The 4Runner is just a better handling and riding vehicle in general... so it's hard to say which is best for sure. I like both. One negative is the Eibach Pro Truck kit comes with lift blocks instead of rear springs... so if you use that I'd suggest finding leaf springs somewhere else and not using the blocks.
The rear stock OR shocks are NOT 4600’s. They are different
Pinned… because you’re right! I learned something today.

Always fun to watch you wrench Jason! I’m going with Bilsteins on my Tundra too!
Awesome! Can’t wait to watch it transform.

Interesting. A great tip. 👍

Well said!
Awesome video!! I'm going with 6100/5160's on my 23 Titan Pro-4x!!
Sweet!
this video is 100% for me. I am literally having my truck in the shop today for a pair of firestone airbags.
Awesome! Since you have a stock bumper I’d stick with the Bilstein springs that come with the 6112s. No need to go heavier spring rate. 🙌
i've got 6112s on my GX460 and they perform amazing! I bought them used for $350 so they've been especially good value for money.

Thanks Ben... and good call on the medium duty springs. That worked out great.
Does your Eibach or Bilstein give a smoother less jarring rattling ride over washboards and fire roads?
HE DID IT! HE POSTED THE SUSPENSION VIDEO!! LFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm kind of disappointed. I waited this long for only 30 mins of video. haha.
LOL... sorry it took so long.
Dude this is so helpful, big thanks!
Happy to help. 👍
Great video! I think you did a good job making a budget-ish friendly lift.
Thanks Nate!
Great video! Keep up the good work.
Hey Jason, how does this 6112/5100 combo is compared to your eibach on the 4runner in terms comfort and handling?
Very similar. The 6112s are a bit firmer. I’m happy with both. Hard to know small differences because the 4Runner is just a better riding vehicle in general.

Great advice. Thanks!
Great video. Any chance of a pedal commander or software up date for a tune?
Already has a pedal commander... covered it in an old video a few years ago. A tune will happen when I get larger tires. Thanks for watching!
What are your wheel and tire sizes? Do they rub?
265/70/17 for now. Eventually 255/80/17 or 285/70/17.

using this video as i research the lift i want on my tacoma.
Well Jason,
You’re more than welcome to come to Cashmere and do the same thing for my 23 TRD Off Road
I need to go to Cashmere and have Moneypit 4x4 do my re-gear! 😁

Oh yeah now I remember the pedal commander video
Hey Jason, so do you prefer the Bilstein 6112/5100 or the Eibach shocks that are on the 4runner?

I would use a U-bolt flip kit to gain some extra inches and not bugger up the U-bolt threads should rocks be hit.
Not a bad idea.
Hitting with a hammer to remove ball joints/tie rod ends, get a bigger hammer 3-5lb, steel, not brass, and hit like you mean it.
I’m just not awesome enough. 😁
I bought a used Brunswick wall mount spring compressor for $$550.
Ooooooooo. Awesome! I want one of those. I can't justify the $900 they cost normally.
@@JasonExplainsThingsi found mine on craigslist a auto shop was closing.
Common shoulda SAS'd it.. One tons are totally "budget" haha
🙌😂
Just for jokes… would you ever get kings???
Probably not. If I were to change them out I’d maybe do OME BP51’s
We miss Chris😅😅😅
Me too dude. 👍
Well…I think I see why hitting the ball joint with a hammer never works for you. You need a bigger hammer and you have to hit it harder.
