各各他山嶺上 孤立一十字架
On the hill far away stood an old rugged cross
這是羞辱痛苦記號
The emblem of suffering and shame
神愛子主耶穌 為世人被釘死
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
這十架為我最愛珍寶
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
故我愛高舉十字寶架 直到在主台前見主面
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross. ‘Til my trophies at last I lay down
我一生要背負十字架 此十架可換公義冠冕
I will cling to the old rugged cross. And exchange it some day for a crown
主寶貴十字架 乃世人所輕視
O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
於我卻是真神仁慈
Has a wondrous attraction for me
神愛子主耶穌 離天堂眾榮華
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
甘願為世人背此十架
To bear it to dark Calvary.
