Shiny hunting is NOT fun. I remember with my shiny charm in Pokemon X whilst doing Masuda method, 8 hours of breeding my vulpix a day. It took me 3 months to get 1 shiny, and it wasn't the nature or max IVS so I had to keep going. It wore me the hell out.
Someone needs to tell Austin to do more research, Nintendo released the method for shiny hunting in the new games and they started clearly that there is no catch combo.

Yoooooo, this same exact thing happened to me. Steps away from the ice town a female Sneasel rushes out of the grass to jump me. My first ever shiny, my heart was pounding the whole battle.
Same with me but a Seismitoad.. I only fought it cause I needed one for dex and it was shiny.. which made me wonder how many other shinies I've dodged..

If you're still hunting something and you're having a hard time with it take a break and Hunt something else for a little bit, I Hunted Litwick for about a month then decided to take a break and hunt a random Pokemon and got a shiny in under 30 eggs, If you're having a hard time just take a break and try to have fun with it, "laughs in non shiny slowpoke"
That's cuz he's seeing about half of the method, Nintendo released a statement about it. Just battle 500 of that Pokemon and shiny charm helps, but there is no combo so don't worry about it.

After doing the battle combo I can answer that question: - You can save and sleep your game but don't turn off the game (it will break the chain) - Don't fight any other pokemon other than the one you're hunting - running away from an accidental encounter will still keep the chain and will not break it

SteffanieVlogs my recommendation is to go with something with high spawn rates in the wild! Just caught my first ever shiny rolycoly day 2 of the game by grinding route 3 in a small patch of grass with high spawn rate rolycoly

Too bad his info is wrong. The number of pokemon caught/defeated increases the number of extra rolls.. ( at 500 being 6 rolls ) Which would be about 1/500 like he said BUT without the chain there is no extra rolls. And it doesn't cap at 2 like stated. So at a 25 chain with 500 defeated you have a 33% chance for a 1/560 chance NOT a flat 1/560 You would only be getting it 1/3 of the time so in reality your odds are more like 1/1600 at a 500 + 25 chain. Thanks for spreading miss information for easy clicks though.. you can't even copy other people's research properly 🙄 also you should give credit to the person in which found the info.

I've never caught a random shiny before. In this game, I was able to randomly find a shiny Wooper in the wild, and I have to say this shiny Quagsire is a staple in my team

It's always been hard to get shines but with dexit my go-to shiny breeding friend has decided to not bother shiny breeding this gen. Her (insane and amazing) goal was to breed one shiny of every pokemon. She was up to around 350 in ORAS. 620 in USUM. So thanks for the vid. If I want shines I'm gonna have to do it myself.

Airaia the shiny part doesn’t matter. The Japanese part does as long as you aren’t breeding it with another Japanese Pokémon. As long as the ditto is being bred with a Pokémon of a different language then you are using the Masuda method.

I have a lot of shinies, and my first shiny was an ACCIDENT. I was breeding for a Snivy in sun and moon, and it was my 1ST ever egg I would hatch, and my 1ST egg that was Snivy, WAS SHINY. Also, I have 3 Shiny Magikarps that we’re in RAIDS.
The only shiny I've encountered in game with full odds was a shiny pidgey in Pokemon silver. I was so used to just backing out of weak Pokemon battles at that point that I ran without even thinking. I searched forever in that spot trying to get it to spawn again but it never did... (obviously I'm not counting Pokemon go shinies. Lol)

I've made a Japanese Ditto in Pokemon Sword and I traded it to my friend's English version of Sword. Does the Masuda method still work or does it only work if he has Shield?
it still works it doesn't matter if it goes to the same game or to the other one. As long as your japanese ditto was from a game that was in the japanese language (it should say JPN in the top right of the summary of the ditto) and was originally from japan (or any other region different from yours... if someone had their game in japanese in germany for whatever reason) then the masuda method should still work.

I hatched 729 eggs for shiny Sobble and Shinx, Masuda method, without shiny charm. I walked into a random Dynamax den and found a full odds shiny Drednaw right after I gave up. Fun times :,)

Most places are reporting it as the increased # battled just gives you MORE rerolls, so 6 rerolls at 500, 5 rerolls at 300, etc.

The number of pokemon caught/defeated increases the number of extra rolls.. ( at 500 being 6 rolls ) Which would be about 1/500 like he said BUT without the chain there is no extra rolls. And it doesn't cap at 2 like stated.
So at a 25 chain with 500 defeated you have a 33% chance for a 1/560 chance NOT a flat 1/560
You would only be getting it 1/3 of the time so in reality your odds are more like 1/1600 at a 500 + 25 chain.
Thanks for spreading miss information for easy clicks though.. you can't even copy other people's research properly 🙄 also you should give credit to the person in which found the info.

I've never caught a random shiny before. In this game, I was able to randomly find a shiny Wooper in the wild, and I have to say this shiny Quagsire is a staple in my team

It's always been hard to get shines but with dexit my go-to shiny breeding friend has decided to not bother shiny breeding this gen. Her (insane and amazing) goal was to breed one shiny of every pokemon. She was up to around 350 in ORAS. 620 in USUM. So thanks for the vid. If I want shines I'm gonna have to do it myself.

Airaia the shiny part doesn’t matter. The Japanese part does as long as you aren’t breeding it with another Japanese Pokémon. As long as the ditto is being bred with a Pokémon of a different language then you are using the Masuda method.

I have a lot of shinies, and my first shiny was an ACCIDENT. I was breeding for a Snivy in sun and moon, and it was my 1ST ever egg I would hatch, and my 1ST egg that was Snivy, WAS SHINY.
Also, I have 3 Shiny Magikarps that we’re in RAIDS.

The only shiny I've encountered in game with full odds was a shiny pidgey in Pokemon silver. I was so used to just backing out of weak Pokemon battles at that point that I ran without even thinking. I searched forever in that spot trying to get it to spawn again but it never did...
(obviously I'm not counting Pokemon go shinies. Lol)

I've made a Japanese Ditto in Pokemon Sword and I traded it to my friend's English version of Sword. Does the Masuda method still work or does it only work if he has Shield?
it still works it doesn't matter if it goes to the same game or to the other one. As long as your japanese ditto was from a game that was in the japanese language (it should say JPN in the top right of the summary of the ditto) and was originally from japan (or any other region different from yours... if someone had their game in japanese in germany for whatever reason) then the masuda method should still work.
