I've got an identical Vanguard/Manabloc manifold and am planning to do the same valve replacement/upgrade since my old ones just don't want to turn with those old flimsy stems. Thanks for posting this video, gives me a bit more confidence in doing it myself.

Wish you could have just shown removing that valve. There has to be a good video somewhere of just that.

I changed the valve and leak has stopped. Worked great. I just had one issue. I couldn't really figure out the removal tool. I really didn't get it. I eventually was able to pop it out with some work. But definitely wasn't as smooth as your's and other videos were.

Great video, viega customer service is top notch! You may want to get someone to look at that venting on the heaters, looks sketch. I would at least make sure you have a CO detector down there.

Yeah I used to be a contractor and build/ repair houses and that was illegal in the Midwest. Then I moved to Utah and saw this and was shocked that almost every house is like that. I did end up changing it a few weeks after this was filmed and got a new heater.

I just moved into a house with one of these systems. I'm looking to get one of those garden hose adapters so I can drain it. What are the details on the one you have here @5:16 /what should I be looking for? Sorry, I'm new to this plumbing thing

as much as that block cost, no one should have issues. I'm sticking to the copper manifold

Yeah I would too but it came with the house and the customer service was great.

My kitchen hot water completely stop for 5 to 10 minutes for no reason (2 faucets same problem), is the Qickport ball valve can be loose and turn on itself??

Never understood the point of these things.I'd throw the hole thing in the trash and just build a manifold out of tees. Having hot flow next to cold, all the seals and expansion contraction, only a matter of time till it leaks again. Great vid though.

Yeah I agree, but it came with the house. If I had to buy me I would just build it myself out of copper. Anyways vanguard/ Vega costumer support was very friendly and good to work with.

They no longer provide the replacement valves, you have to order them yourselves.

Too much zooming in and out of focus was super distracting
