This video is for those interested in finding out what the Luxury Deluxe Room at the La Vela Saigon Hotel, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, looks like and what it has to offer.
    ~ Staycation Review ~
    Stay Period - December 2022
Room Type - Luxury Deluxe Room
    ~ Check-in Experience ~
We stayed at the La Vela Saigon Hotel in December 2022 and arrived at around 12pm. The hotel is located a short drive away from downtown Ho Chi Minh City. The lobby was rather busy, understandable given it was the festive period. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed by the volume of guests. Iced tea was offered for those who were waiting.
We were told to return around our official check-in time of 3pm. When we returned, the crowd had died down and it didn't take long for us to get our room key.
    ~ Room Experience ~
At 40 sqm, the room is large, but average sized by luxury hotel standards. The interior design can be described as modern luxury, with plenty of chrome and gold plating. The highlight would be the glass walled bathroom and free-standing bathtub. The WC cubicle was rather cramped and passing through it to get to the shower cubicle felt unnecessary.
    ~ Pool & Gym Experience ~
The infinity edge rooftop pool was impressive, offering more than 180 degree views of the city. While the pool was large, the deck space was cramped and narrow. The gym was large and had some natural light but still felt a little dim and drab. Perhaps using different finishes for the walls would help elevate the space.
    ~ Breakfast Experience ~
The breakfast buffet restaurant gets quite crowded and noisy around 10am. A wide selection of food options means there is something for everyone.
    Pros:
    - Modern, clean furnishing.
    - Good breakfast buffet spread and panoramic views.
    - Infinity edge pool with panoramic views.
    Cons:
    - Very slow / over-utilised elevators.
    - Cramped pool deck space.

Room price would have been helpful.

Hi Robert, I paid SGD 216 for 2 nights through Expedia back in 2022. Using today's exchange rate, that works out to be around USD 160 for 2 nights. Accounting for inflation, that's USD 167 today. Hope this helps!
