I am so blown away by this! I was 6 years old when "Duel" aired on TV. My dad was a huge truck fanatic so I fondly remember watching it with him on our first color TV set. It scared the crap out of me! Even though I was scared I was still saddened to see the truck get destroyed at the end. I guess my love of vintage vehicles had already started at a young age! Thanks for your hard work in making this. I wish my dad was still around so I could show to him too. Miss you Dad!

So, I have just driven from Plymouth to The Lake District in the UK for a family holiday. I have unpacked my bags, got the wifi on for the kids, checked my youtube and seen your video come up. Is the truck from Duel still at the bottom of the cliff? This is exactly what I have always wondered since I was a kid. As someone who owned a Slant 6 powered Duster (same as a Valiant under the skin), I can relate to the complete lack of power and terror of not being able to merge onto the Interstate much less being chased by a big rig with a maniac behind the wheel!

I grew up in this area in the 60's. Seeing the movie in 1971 it was so cool seeing areas I have actually been at. I still live in the area and my son lives about 5 minutes away from the cliffs, which is off Vasquez Canyon Road in Saugus, CA. I drove by there the other day and there was production crews at the site. They do shoot a lot of commercials at that site.

A lot of people I've hiked this there have said "oh yeah, no problem, we can do that in an hour" thinking it was only about a 1/4 mile away. Yeah. It's 1/4 mile as the crow flies but we're not damn crows. It's about a mile of up and down ground travel.

Amazing episode, Master-Fractic. I remember watching this movie with my father on TV. Very intensive movie for a my age back then. Duel, Westworld (Yul Brunner) and Alien scared me most back then. You took quite a trip to find that truck :) Wear high leather boots for the snakes and a hat for the sun (you are a father now). I always believed that you are one of the most talented creators on TH-cam! Looking forward to the second part :)

I was 15 when Duel aired, "ABC Movie Of The Week". Destined to be a classic, it was an episode that really stuck in my mind. I confess, that it wasn't till the past few years when I watched it on streaming TV that I realized it was Spielberg's first film. That says it all. What I would like to know about the wreck is how did the salvage crew bring all that wreckage?

Great hike!! The restaurant was the place where suspense gets higher. Mann gets assaulted by a guy who he thinks may be the truck driver. Then, finally, he gets out and runs desperately behind the truck. I guess nobody wanted to pay for the truck to be removed from the crash's location, especially because it was much of a problem moving that large wreck...

I remember seeing Duel on TV when it first aired as an ABC Movie Of The Week. I was about 14 years old at the time. About a year later while visiting relatives in Tennessee, my sister who was about 17 at the time and l were going to the store on a winding two lane road when a large truck came up behind us and got right on our bumper and my sister sped up to try to get away from it and they would speed up and stay right behind us. There were two guys in the truck and they were laughing at us because we couldn't get away from them. Our speed was getting faster and faster and we were terrified because my sister was having a hard time keeping the car under control on the winding narrow road. After about two miles there was a large parking lot and she had to steer the car off of the road to get away from the truck. Thankfully they kept going. It really shook us up. I have seen the movie several times since then and it always reminds me of that incident.
