Well, I'm old school, and I did all of that. What I found gave me more endurance, was 15+ rounds on the heavy bag, at a pace I would use in each round of an actual fight. Of course, I was different; I did more than everyone else. You guys do have exercises I didn't know of.
I liked this a lot because back in the day my trainer used to tell me , people who run/do road work do better in the ring than the people who don't , he also said boxing is 60% legs . You just reiterated the same thing in more technical terms , I can tell you love this sport and put a lot of thought into your training as I do . I don't compete ATM but I'm training 6 days a week in hopes of getting back into it in some form . Excellent video.
wrestling for position or on the ground does take a lot of energy tho man, so it's not the same as boxing. But you are right most mma fighters seem to over commit with punches and they look gas'd out in the second round often. But look at a guy like Cain Velasquez, he punches very relaxed and never seems to be gassed.
Cheers guys, I'm in MMA and that graph analogy really helps put things in perspective. Personally I find the hardest part of fighting is that horrible place when you gas out. Worse than being hit.
high intensity training's a lot more complex than what's been explained on this video.... that's not a criticism of ellie or brandon, but doing 10 sets of 50yard sprints is not exactly HIIT. for it to be considered high intensity 'interval' training, you need to take short break between each sprint and the rest times need to be consistent throughout, so 10 second sprint followed by 5 second rest, followed by 10 second sprint and 5 second rest and so on....
Pace is more important than cardio but better cardio u have better pace u have even u have really good cardio u throw a 100 percent every punch u will still get tired but still do your cardio
Muhammad Ali dances around throwing jabs😂i guess not everybody is talented like him.I really appreciate you spreading your boxing knowledge please keep teaching
NO WONDER WHY MMA FIGHTERS run out of gas in like 5 mins or the first round... the guys cant even punch or miss a punch they are gassing out and i mean through their mouths and assess
mm these MMA guys take steroids and their fight is only 15 minutes. A boxing match is about 45 minutes. 36 minutes of Action. Boxing is not MMA -.- However I think that Donaire is only doing intervalls. But he is saying that he trains the way he fights and I guess thats true.
i admire this guy so much Elie u can see he got real passion he loves boxing so much

I wish I would’ve came a across this when it came out 8 years ago...
Now I’m 35 and old 😔
I'm almost 35 and still going strong in the ring! Not too late!
Bernard Hopkins would disagree with u
Thanks for the knowledge Brandon. You break things down very simply

of all the trainers that I've seen Elie speak to I really like Brandon ... if I lived on the west coast I'd join his gym.
Excellent video, thanks Brandon and Elie.
Amazing video brother.
very good, he knows what he is talking
! respects from Lisbon !
Great videos Elie. Pacquiao and Mayweather both do lots of aerobic and anaerobic exercise so it must be the way to go.
Thanks great video!

ellie has spent enough time in boxing gyms. I think he could beat somebody's ass. he doesn't look weak or out of shape judging by his face
Muhammad Ali dances around throwing jabs😂i guess not everybody is talented like him.I really appreciate you spreading your boxing knowledge please keep teaching

This guy talks sense
NO WONDER WHY MMA FIGHTERS run out of gas in like 5 mins or the first round... the guys cant even punch or miss a punch they are gassing out and i mean through their mouths and assess
Mr. Krause speaks "THE REAL"!!!
keep the camera still!!!!!!!
Damn Brandon woke for a minute
Thats what i though!, this guy is a very good trainer because he is using his experience and his smartness to bring up good knowloedge in boxing
He asked for a few examples not an entire menu rofl, he didn't give a long list of explanation for the endurance either.
@quenquen411 = that's what i do. At 27 not getting the same out of it like when I was 21 though! The law of diminishing returns...
