Derek Acorah's bitter feud with Most Haunted's Yvette Fielding after she exposed fakery

- Derek Acorah and Yvette Fielding's professional relationship never recovered in the wake of his controversial exit from their show Most Haunted, after she exposed him for 'faking' a spiritual possession. The 69-year-old self-styled medium, who died last night after falling into a coma , branded his former co-star "egotistical" and "big-headed" after she revealed how he had fallen for a set-up scene. During the filming of a 2005 Most Haunted episode at Bodmin Gaol, the show's resident sceptic Ciaran O’Keeffe left the name of a notorious South African jailer, Kreed Kafer, on a piece of paper and had spoken of his identity within Derek's earshot. When the cameras started rolling, Derek claimed to be possessed by Kreed - but Ciaran later revealed the man was totally made up and his name was an anagram of 'Derek Faker'. When the sting was uncovered, Derek left the show, and Yvette said the following year: "We tell people everything is real, then it turns out he was a fake, so he had to go." Her comments sparked a war of words with Derek, who said: "She decided when I left the show that she didn't want to talk to me any more. There was no need for it and it was very sad." He attempted to backtrack on the Kreed Kafer scandal, pinning the blame squarely on his 'spiritual guide' Sam , a ghostly presence who helped him contact the spirit world. "I'd just like to say on virtually all psychic activity, I rely on my spiritualist guide I call Sam, but sometimes I rely heavily on my own spiritual guilds that are a custom to my surroundings and the atmosphere that I am upon," Derek said in 2006. "When I get possessed, I cannot remember any of the actions of who has taken over me or that of my surroundings. On this occasion where the spirit Kreed Kafer came to me, I can say that I had, yes had been taken over by an entity, but the identity would have been other than that of the name that came from me. "One explanation of what could have occurred is that the spirit that took on board myself had heard one of the crew members mention the character Kreed Kafer and this individual took on that name by means of fraud or because many people in the very distant past did not have names so this entity decided to use the one he had overheard. "Another explanation is that I did hear in passing the name Kreed Kafer, and when I did take on board the spirit I made a genuine mistake and wrongly associated this name with the spirit. I am human and can make mistakes, especially when I am under the pressure of a reading or being taken over by an overbearing entity. "I do however have a strong successful following in the spiritualist field and I do believe that I am a genuine medium. I am sorry if any of my lovely fans were offended by this mistake." Making silly ghost hunting shows for entertainment is one thing but fraudulently telling a mother they are in touch with their dead child is about as low as you can get.

Not as if Yvette and Stuart and the rest were any better. Didn't they also get caught faking footage? How much of it was actually real from their side? The whole thing was fake and staged.
Derek was a massive fake, I got free tickets to his show one time and he had people planted in the audience was embarassingly bad! Some guy that suddenly had the balls to ask him, 'When are you coming back to most haunted, we miss you' just so he could respond with 'I prefer to work for the working people' or something like that. Either way he was a fraud!

Sounds like Yvette is as vindictive as they come. I think Ciaran from the start should never have doubted, but because he was the resident sceptic, he CHOSE to test him. I am more offended by the actions of the most haunted team, than I am about Derek leaving the show.
You feel offended by people testing the legitimacy of a self proclaimed medium but you are not offended by the same medium who besides other stuff used the grief of people for his own benefits when it's proven he's all fake? Interesting.
@@unschuldshascherl I was actually pointing out that even though they tested DA, they were caught faking evidence too. So I feel as though it is the pot calling the kettle black. That was my issue, so I stopped watching after DA left. And as for exploiting people to feed off of their sadness, he won't do it any longer, as he died last year. I wasn't offended by tests, just pointing out that I thought it wrong, since they were faking their own evidence.

very distasteful of the most haunted crew to stitch him up to try and add credit to their already scripted and faked ghost hunting show, the mediums were the only real part about the show and if theyre getting spoon fed lies the job of a medium is like a psychic detective and to pick up on the small things, so if he was being manipulated to pick up lies hes gonna say what hes being fed..... and most haunted is just an embarrassment to the paranormal research field, bloody stones and stuff being threw at them in every other episode by the camera crews, picking up peoples tummys rumbling and stuff and saying its an evp or picking up voices theyve planted on recording devices and they know when the recording is due to play so they make sure theyre beside it and film themselves so they can be their own testimony that its not them talking... cheap parlor tricks for entertainment and shocking how they treated derek, rest in peace derek
And as the scared to death crew say, "if one in one hundred shows is real, then it's a game changer".

If you watched the shows, which I would occasionally back then, it was pure entertainment purposes for me.
I had a good laugh at the goings on on the shows and treated it just like that, as silly entertainment.

I’m fully with Yvette on this; she wanted the viewers to ‘believe’ in the Show, and how can they, when someone behaves like that? She got really angry - and so would I, and would have done exactly the same thing she did. When someone acts like that, they lose all credibility... Imagine someone lying to you about something, what’s the first thing you think; how often may they have lied to me before... Even if they haven’t ever done it before, you’ll always doubt them. In fact, she was really put in an impossible position; had she not let him go, then Viewers would have deserted the Show in their thousands...
Also how he's complaining she didn't talk with him anymore about it. What did he expect? She trusted him, he was part of the team, and probably they even had a friendship and then she finds out he lied the whole time? Well, yes, that is definitely enough to not even talk to someone anymore. I would have reacted the same way. Like when the person who claimed being my best friend stole my wallet with all my money in it. When I found out it was her by proof I didn't speak to her neither but only ended the friendship. If you're stabbing your friends in their backs you are not entitled to any explanation or to get the chance to make excuses.
