Huey Lewis and the News doing an impromptu performance of 'So Much In Love' during an interview after their 1984 Rockpalast show in Germany. I don't own anything in this video.
A well-oiled machine. I think Huey and the boys are terribly underrated. They're shockingly musical, not just vocally but in the broad capability of their musicianship. Colla is multitalented on sax and guitar and seems to be the "lead" on the harmonies.
Maybe it's because they lean more towards Blues than Rock and Roll. It's just a wild guess. But I could be wrong because afterall, BB King is in the Rock and Roll HOF.
" Lean more towards blues than rock n roll " ???!! You dont't know what eigther one is. Huey Lewis was more rock n roll than any other band in the 80s , except Maybe... The Stray Cats.
Huey’s Rockpalast concert is a fantastic music time capsule and this backstage performance of ‘So Much In Love’ proves just how much this band really loves what they do! I’ll always be a fan of this great 80s band. Stay Gold, Australia's Retro Man.
Awesome. I saw Huey Lewis and the News perform this in candlestick Park as a couple got married near the pitchers mound. I believe the bride and groom were strolling down the aisle, while the band performed this song. Huey Lewis and the news sold more albums/records in the 1980s than any other band; so many great hits. And such a shame that Huey is no longer able to perform, due to some sort of hearing issue, that makes it so he can’t carry a tune. Wishing him a miraculous and speedy recovery.
Danke! Und alles Gute im diesen Jahr 2023. "Rockpalast" sieht wie ein tolles Fernsehnprogramm aus. Leider sind wir in den Staaten. Glückerwise habe ich dieses tollen Post angeschaut. Vielen Dank! John in Pennsylvanien, USA, Wir haben Deuchland oft besucht, ein wunderbares Land,
Nobody enjoyed this as much as I did on this New Year's Day, 2023! Heard this on WHLC in Highlands, NC this morning, I said to my wife, "This cover is Art Garfunkel." Some homework this quiet 1/1/23, and I found this was, indeed, covered by him, as well as Huey, and Timothy B Schmit and of course, the original by The Tymes. Maybe 2023 will be a good year in the end.
Knowing that Mario eventually got kicked out of the band, I wish he did more singing. He can sing, as he said that part of his Foreigner gig was learning harmonies pitched higher than the lead singer. I can tell this situation was a little awkward for him in this interview as he couldn't walk off stage like he normally would.
I miss all these bands that i grew up with

Wow, acapella by Huey Lewis and the News -- a musical genius/
Huey Lewis belongs in
The Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame
Saw Huey and the News 4 times in the 80s, great stuff love this classic 50s song
One of my all-time favorite groups, they can do it all
These guys were one of a kind.
Peoples parents in the 80s loved the music Huey and the news made. It's because it has a 50s theme in their songs.
What a happy time.
This is awesome. Best song on the internet I seen this year
Huey Lewis is underrated.
No shit! He's also amazing live, not just him, but his whole band!
Still enjoying this forty years later!
最高〜🎶
この曲大好きです👍
素敵なお仲間ですね🥂
Please explain why they aren't in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
Good Question!!

wonderful. Looks like they enjoyed singing it as much as the people enjoyed hearing it. Music.

素晴らしい、この曲が好きなんですね、しあせです。
What a great REAL band, in this age of artificial music amidst artificial everything
Fantastic !! ------------------------real singing.-----------------

DAM EXCELLENT job on this doo wopp monster hit.

Darn! I was hoping the woman was going to sing the soprano obligato part from the bridge to the end!
🌱😀💙🌸
I have seen them in concert twice and they are unbelievable sad to hear about his voice problems
I don’t think he has voice problems more the fact he can’t hear music anymore
It's his hearing
Sounds better at 0.75 speed!
Mario also sings the chorus.😅

Who is the girl?
The " girl " in this 80s video is now Granny Clampett , on the beverly hill billies :D
Not too bad )
The original
Nope. The original IS By The Tymes (1963)
Just a bit slower. It's a ballad. Not a quick love song. Huey! Come do it again!!
He screwed it up but it doesn’t matter
NO he didn't screw it up....sounds really good ..of course NOT as good as the 1963 original tymes version.
@@bqkmg2037 - I think they're just referring to Huey getting the lyrics wrong. He mixed them up a lot.
@@bqkmg2037 You forgot to say ''In my humble opinion'' - 'cos that's all it is.
Pathetic, but great backing
Huey cant sing this song
