Really miss the tabs man. I learn better when I pause and can go at my own pace. You rock! Old guys like me appreciate you teaching us the tunes we grew up on!!!
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker unfortunately, their lyrics are pretty damn misogynistic, but that's my chick point of view. Still love the originality of his take on blues rock.

@@dotkennedy7443 lol. I don't think he intentionally meant to write words that treated women like objects. I truthfully think he wrote out of his love for women. But it certainly was sexualized in a lot of tunes. I see your point. 🥂
So badass, Marty! The playing. The tone. The teaching. All of it. You are the man Bro!!! Man this record was a total game-changer for me when I was 12/13/14.... and I've loved it my whole life, and ever since. One of my all time faves for sure. Man. That tone!!! Came out in 83 I think. I turned 13 in Dec of 83.
thanks man, what a way to kick off my friday morning. zz top and a j . i think i wore out 2 cassettes of this album kickass gibson ...she sounds sweet . i read once for this album he had like a hundred different amps ,all kinds of brands ran together ...its a rippin album for sure thanks again man your my hero dude have a great memorial day weekend my friend
Wow Marty my man dude i am a guitarist to im on TH-cam as well i play alot of cool videos to !! Anywayz ....... i have Played ZZ Top songs etc over the years but its been a while man , so thx for bringing back memories & restoring my memory , im in a band called OPC and we do alot of cool songs & Sharped Dressed man & La Grange is them !!!!
Great lesson Marty. Man, ZZ Top pinch harmonics galore. Excellent riffs, always liked their style of playing guitar especially. I have to wonder if EVH was inspired a bit by Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top. 🤔🎸 Thanks for breaking these tunes down and sharing them with us. 😎🎸✝️
I know man! Same here. They even make 7's in the Mexican Lottery brand. Hard to not bend everything sharp by just resting your hand in the strings and fretboard!
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Yeah man you need a delicate touch, the complete opposite of how I hold my guitars. I play them like they owe me money. Could never do a scalloped board.
Thanks! Keep up the Van Hagar lessons too. Good ZZ Top songs for a RAT pedal. Great GenX tunes. Another tune I hope you could look at sometime - Fell on Black Days by Soundgarden
Thanks Marty! Great lesson! Only thing to change, maybe, is you coulda used your white furry Explorer to really seal the deal. With strap spinner, of course .
Great tone! I love ZZTop. I think Deguello was really the start of their rise. Billy is a lazy player and he admits it openly. He uses SEVENS! LOL. He has very interesting and unique turn arounds.
Earl Hooker was one of the early major/minor blues players. Listen to him on Earl's Boogie, then listen to Clapton in Cream, and you know where Eric got it.
Great lessons. Much appreciated. I would really like if you mentioned just fret numbers instead of note names. I have a feeling that I'm not alone in saying that a bunch of us watching have not memorized the fretboard yet .
@buff daddy totally agree. It's been on the to do list but time is unfortunately not a luxury and between enjoying playing, practicing and life, the fretboard takes a backseat!
Time constraints these past two weeks. It's either this or no content at all. I may start placing all the tabs on Instagram for free. The editing and time limits during the days these past couple weeks have been insane. So many irons in the fire to even get into. Basically "life" stuff.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker I completely understand that's a bummer cuz I don't use Instagram I hate social media it's a terrible way to communicate God bless you and I hope that life stuff gets better I'll keep watching and keep practicing

I got to say that my favorite track off this album is need you tonight. These tracks of course are all iconic as well. Thank you
Love me some Billy G! Thank you for the major/minor explanation on Gimme.. - that really opened up the song for me. Rated.
Best video since billy gibbons discovered pinch harmonics
Just started listening to this, but out of the gate, that is the way a Les Paul should sound when playing rock!
That Les Paul sounds awesome and great lesson. Thanks
Superb! This is fabulous. Thanks for sharing.🙏
Thank-you very much for the vid, very much appreciated 👍
Nice lesson! Love ZZTOP! Easy to play and no whammy bar! Lol 😂 Thanks, Marty

ZZ Top is a lot like AC/DC. Plenty of great tunes and riffs but it doesn't take long before everything starts sounding the same.
Hey Marty, do you know I got your six by ZZ Top
Great song. I need to brush up on it. I need to do some more ZZ!
How about Low Down In The Street
I think Billy recorded most of this record with a custom made Dean destroyer
Billy used pearly gates on all ZZ Top Records. That’s what Billy said
