I am a composer, who was disabled by cancer treatment. I recently built a home music studio after saving up, so that I can learn how to create mockups of my work, and maybe eventually learn how to work from home. I just started building my libraries. I use Finale and Sibelius.
Thanks - my goal for the second half of my life is to be able to orchestrate music. Lost my childhood passion as I prioritized work over life, but rekindled this during the pandemic. Now I'm looking at a new goal in life and your videos are always inspiring. Keep doing what you do.
Spitfire Chamber Strings Essentials looks like an incredibly versatile library! I've been searching for a high-quality string library for my music compositions, and this seems like the perfect fit. The lush and intimate sound of chamber strings is exactly what I need to add depth and emotion to my compositions. I can already imagine using it to create beautiful, expressive string sections for my orchestral pieces.
Spitfire Chamber Strings is one of those libraries I've always been interested in, but locked out due to the high price point. An essentials version is just the way to give me an opportunity to finally dive into the chamber orchestra world. Great review as always, Chris!
Spitfire libraries are so fun to work with - this one seems to be no exception. The progressive vibrato definitely gives these strings a more human feel, and I could see this being a workhorse collection while also a springboard for inspired writing. Thanks for showing it off for us!
The timing of this, its like you plucked this library out of my head! 😅 Great run through, I can't say how helpful you've been with this library and others. A real standout in our community. 😊
Been considering this library for a while. Probably my favourite string library by Spitfire, and i think my favourite format (Chamber). Thanks for the great content!
Thanks for reviewing the Spitfire library, Chris. The strings sound incredible with a wonderful selection of articulations. It would be amazing to work with this library!
I am very pleasantly surprised to see they released a new version of Chamber Strings, one that fit's not only hardware limitations, but ram, storage, and budget limitations as well, it's probably a library I'd use for more baroque like compositions, for film and video game tracks that is, put these strings alongside a recorder quartet, and a harpsichord, and bam, instant ideas popping in my head, thank you for the honest and quick review Chris!
I've been looking at Spitfire Audio Chamber Strings for quite a while now. I really like the intimate sound of the library, yet never had the bucks to spend on it. This give-away would be a huge opportunity for me. It would find it's way into my template in no time. Would be more than happy to share my first piece focused on this library once it's done. Thank you Christopher for your videos and this cool give-away.
I'd want to use this library for my new hobby: writing orchestral music. I already have basic spitfire Epic Strings (merely all original series actually), so this will be some level-up I think. Greetings from Ukraine 🤗
I adore this library! Extremely versatile with its ability to be strong and aggressive, as well as gentle and luscious. I would absolutely love to have this in my set.
Spitfire chamber strings are what I need to take my music to the next level...by far the best sounding chamber strings ove heard and they sound wet and would be perfect for my upcoming mock ups and trailers..also with this being my full time job you wud be blessing my pockets 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi Christopher! Instead of using the close/Far slider, you can click on the wrench icon and then, you have access to the tree and the close mics and you can set them as you want, like having the right amount of close mic over the tree mic... Usefull !
Absolutely mesmerizing! I couldn't help but be captivated by the enchanting sounds of the Spitfire Chamber Strings Essentials library showcased in this video. 🎻🎶 It's like having an entire chamber orchestra right at your fingertips, ready to bring your compositions to life. As a music enthusiast and composer, I've explored various orchestral libraries, but Spitfire consistently stands out. The level of detail in their sampling is truly remarkable, capturing the nuances and expressiveness of each instrument with astounding precision. It's a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship that went into creating this library. What I find particularly remarkable is the versatility of Spitfire Chamber Strings Essentials. Whether you're scoring an emotional film scene, creating epic soundtracks for games, or crafting intricate classical compositions, this library adapts seamlessly to your creative vision. The dynamic range and articulations are a dream come true for any musician looking to infuse their work with authenticity and emotion. I'm genuinely looking forward to diving deeper into the endless possibilities that this library offers. Thank you for this enlightening demonstration of its capabilities. It's clear that Spitfire has once again pushed the boundaries of what's possible in virtual orchestration. Kudos to the team behind this masterpiece! 👏👏" Keep making incredible music! 🎵✨
Great Video! The Strings really sound amazing. I have a few really symphonic string libraries with really big sound like Albion one. But after a while I realized that more intimate and detailed orchestration was the style I want to go for. So, this video really helped me out! Thanks a lot!
Great presentation Chris! As SCS Pro is one of Spitfire’s most popular, I’m sure SCS Essentials will be a massive success with those who can’t afford Pro. Certainly one I’d consider, and so versatile!
I've really been trying to improve my mockup game as of late, and this library is the type of string sound I've been looking for to elevate my orchestral work. I appreciate the chance for a giveaway!
I really love the intimate sound of chamber strings and this here is exception. It has a beautifull and warm sound to it especially the viola and cello sound really gorgeous. The detail in the strings is also beautifully captured. Your amazing improvisation made me want this great out of the box sound. I would be thrilled to have those beautifull, warm and intimate Chamber strings in my arsenal to make soft emotional music for the games I am working on.
This library sounds amazing! I believe it's exactly what I need! I'm a small composer, and I would like to write fantasy-like songs for my short stories (I'm also a small writer lol). I especially love the sound of the violas and cellos! Really give a warm feeling. Greetings from Brazil!
Such beautiful sounds! Who wouldn't want that? I would want to use it in a minimalist setting or in a hybrid piece where a big string section would be out of place. Seems like there would be lots of uses for such impressive sounds.
Fantastic walkthrough and just what I'm looking for! I would use this for both expanding my other string library with divisi, as well as adding the detail and clarity from the individual players that my other verby/large ensemble libraries are unable to achieve!
This Chamber strings library sounds great! This is exactly the sort of library that I could use on so many things. As, the libraries I currently have are for trailer music and are a bit too hard-hitting for the more regular or subdued string sound. Thanks for the walkthrough and giveaway! Good luck to all!
Been waiting for this, CS had so much, almost too much in it and this is perfect about for what you'd use 95% of the time, hoping to get it in my template for it's unique sound and to maybe try it for like a divisi section with my other string libraries too
Great sounding libary and good overview , thx Chris 🙏. I like and own a lot of spitfire Stuff, but more the symphonic style. This would be a good addition to my setup.
As a musician from Nigeria, winning this VST library would be a game-changer for my music production. It's the missing piece in my toolkit, promising to turn my musical ideas into captivating, professional-quality compositions.
Always loved that intimate chamber sound. As a student on a budget, I wholeheartedly welcome this edition of the legendary spitfire chamber strings. I’d use this as a workhorse library for sure. It’d be especially useful to get more definition in ostinatos and to get more intimacy from slower passages 🤩
As I listen to more and more samples, on top of high quality audio of live musicians playing in the same manner, I am starting to identify some of the subtle differences in how samples stack up to their live counterparts. I am amazed at the quality. Samples continue to evolve and elevate the ability to create mock-ups that are just beautiful. I have never used Spitfire Chamber Strings, but I would not hesitate to add this to my arsenal. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us!
I think that now the main focuse is turned into big, cinematic and lush sound of music (especially when we talk about film scoring). This library will definitelly give me the opportunity to change this trend and make intimate, detailed and more defined music. Looking forward to take my hands on this another, incredible Spitfire's product!
I thinks this is still the best chamber strings library out there. I would love to use it in some of the more contemporary classical songs I am working at.
For composition, it's really a good sounding ! Especialy by choosing a chamber section wich provides more details ! All thé articulations we need are hère and quiet easy to use .
I’m glad that you did this overview !…Good job !….Spitfire Chamber Strings has come up in so many discussions that I can’t count…It has always been cost prohibitive to purchase with my budget….I think that this library will fit the bill !…The bonus (for me too) is that it’s a Kontakt library….Thanks again !
Nice overview! These strings sound amazing and are really versatile. They are perfect for more intimate writing but can also get fairly big, thanks to the hall sound. It was a smart move for Spitfire to make them available at a lower admission price.
This is a really good move from Spitfire. I hope they do the same with their Symphonic range. About this lib, I would use it as a layer to BBCSO and on it's own, it has a beautiful sound.
Spitfire chamber strings are very popular on online forums. Never had the chance to try them, but they do sound nice. Would love to use them for a stand-alone string quartet/quintet, as i think they are perfect for that
I'd love to use this to layer against the Spitfire Symphonic Strings library I currently use, to add some more detail to the strings section. Thanks Chris.
I really enjoy composing with BBCSO Core not only for the quality, but also for helping me develop my orchestration skills! I gained a lot of valuable knowledge using that library alone on how the orchestra can create a grand and cohesive sound. SCS essentials would be awesome for me to have them complement the buttery sound of the BBCSO Core strings!
Wow Chris, great premiere with Spitfire ! 🙂 I’va been waiting for this light version of Chamber Strings for a long time. The sound is so bright and soft alltogether, very cinematic in an european way to my hears, if that does make sense… But the complete is too huge for me, and I’m part-time in my job since September to start my new life as a composer. So I would use this new library to build my porfolio, I would surely remix demos I’ve made this school-year in Paris after work so as to get them more realistic, I was always short on TIME... thinking of a french Ouverture-like in the old style. But the sound make me think as well as some recording of Bach works, so I would surely try it to learn to compose some counterpoint… the fugue shall be for the next decade 😋 Cheers everybody ! My piece of advice : go and see "Il Boemo" if you haven't yet 😉
I have an upcoming project. There is one big bang piece of which my adventure strings and hollywood strings will cover. However, I have several pieces that will require a lighter touch, specifically on the higher end. That's where chamber strings will come in, particularly the violin II and violas. Spitfire chamber strings has a warmth even on the higher end of the aural spectrum of which is attractive for this particular approach.
Hi Chris, Thank you for reviewing this library. I always wanted to buy this library but it was too expensive for me. I am a freelance composer at fiverr and i would love to use this library on my next track for my clients if i win this library. Thank again Chris.
Hi my name is yoni. I watch a little bit of your videos on music composition but you mainly helped me explore the cine library. I would use the chamber strings for my journey in going to college for media composition. Ive been composing for about 8 months now. Its my passion and this library would help seeing as my parents dont like paying for them.
I'm working on a project that needs very intimate string parts, and a full orchestral set makes that a *little* but more difficult. Always loved the dynamics of chamber strings and even though spitfire can choke up your storage, they are masterful imo at really capturing and introducing nuances to make more realistic sketches at minimum. Imo orchestral tools give them a run for their money on this and epic stuff, but this library definitely does the job.
I've heard this demo, and for the price, definitely purchasing it. Thanks for mentioning range. No other demo mentioned it. That is my complaint with some of the musio samples.
Hey chris, I'm new producer with financial limitations and I have used Spitfire's BBC symphony orchestra which is free for my first song and it delivered what I needed at that time but as I grew in knowledge about articulations I think I really need to get this Chamber strings through giveaway that would change my music for better 🤩❤️🔥
I always found the chamber string sound really appealing and it would be great to have it in my repertoire. Great to hear that Spitfire is giving away a copy 😄
Great video and also great library. I was watching their premiere on youtube about this library. I think it's a good step, making the "chamber strings" library with that really detailed sound of just few players, but making it more affordable and smaller just with that sounds that you really need. I think I'd use it in type of music where you want that detailed not just really powerfull sound and also as you said mby for layering other libraries. But really good video keep it up!
Sounds lovely! I have a slow densely harmonic piece that could use some beautiful strings. So many people I know say SCS is one of their desert island libraries.
I'd totally use this to layer with CSS, and use it on its own too when I need more intimate strings! It's totally worth the price especially considering the core version is $749
When I compose, I often use divisi. Large orchestra libraries get real big real fast. I would use a chamber library to obtain a closer to real sound. Plus it would be fun to write for a chamber ensemble.
Hey Chris! Hope all is well. The reason I would love this library is because I honestly don't have the funds to buy more, sorry to be so straight up loll, but this would add to what I have and I only have a free version or lite version. This would allow me to stretch my legs abit more whiles composing so this is the reason this library would be and essential tool for me...Thank you in advance!
Would love to use this as my main strings library, as for right now, BBCSO Discover is my main, its more than enough for my use case to be honest, but still, it would be real nice to have this, would be a huge step up in terms of quality. Aside from that, great detailed review!
I love the sound of the AIR Studios. I don't own any of the Spitfire Libraries, yet. I've used some Berlin samples and NI samples so far. But the Spitfire chamber strings sound inspiring. Actually I write some arrangements for a heavy metal band, and perhaps I should give this library a try.
Spitfire chamber is probably the spitfire library id most like to try, its very unique compared to every other string library ive tried as its very quick, dynamic, and close
Would love to use them in a combination with some woodwinds and brass to create those quintet sounding like arragnments but with slightly more players, also love the sound.

Hey brother. Sorry about the cancer, it took my mother, I hope you beat it. I'm glad you found passion in this, it really is a fun art.

This is an amazing library. It will be a lovely library for complimenting my solo piano compositions. Thanks for the detailed review.
So cool, I've always wanted chamber strings... now is the perfect package to get it!

Indeed it would be awesome library for layering.

Thanks for doing what you do!!!

Great review! Lots of detail in the sound and a great option for layering with larger string sections. The ideal library for more intimate music.

This library has a sweet tone. I'd like to have it in my sound collection to add character and definition to string parts. Great overview, thank you!
Lovely sounds. Really nice for emotional slow soundtracks.
These strings really do sound beautiful.
Such beautiful sounds! Who wouldn't want that?
I would want to use it in a minimalist setting or in a hybrid piece where a big string section would be out of place. Seems like there would be lots of uses for such impressive sounds.
Awesome for people who want a taste of the classic Spitfire Chamber Strings!
Thanks for the review! That seems quite flexible, and would also potentially do a great tool to create divisis.
Fantastic walkthrough and just what I'm looking for! I would use this for both expanding my other string library with divisi, as well as adding the detail and clarity from the individual players that my other verby/large ensemble libraries are unable to achieve!

Great review once again Chris. I’d love to get this library to layer it with my other strings libraries !

Nice overview! These strings sound amazing and are really versatile. They are perfect for more intimate writing but can also get fairly big, thanks to the hall sound. It was a smart move for Spitfire to make them available at a lower admission price.
I love it! I think it sounds better than any other chamber strings library. I would like to write some adagio with it!
This is a really good move from Spitfire. I hope they do the same with their Symphonic range.
About this lib, I would use it as a layer to BBCSO and on it's own, it has a beautiful sound.
Love the Basses and Viola.
Great video Chris! I would love to use this for more intimate, romantic songs that need more detail than a large string section offers
Thank you for the interesting and helpful review!
I'd use the legato the most I think. The small chamber size could come in handy for the piece I'm working on. Thanks Christopher!
Amazing string sound, love it
Love Spitfire! This library would be great for my trailer music :)
These strings are beautiful! I especially like the tremolo and would use that and the legato!
Great presentation. This is actually something that would fit my astro science musical project :)
This looks like a great bread and butter library, especially for sketching. I'd probably use it to layer with other string libraries.
Wow Chris, great premiere with Spitfire ! 🙂
I’va been waiting for this light version of Chamber Strings for a long time.
The sound is so bright and soft alltogether, very cinematic in an european way to my hears, if that does make sense…
But the complete is too huge for me, and I’m part-time in my job since September to start my new life as a composer. So I would use this new library to build my porfolio, I would surely remix demos I’ve made this school-year in Paris after work so as to get them more realistic, I was always short on TIME... thinking of a french Ouverture-like in the old style. But the sound make me think as well as some recording of Bach works, so I would surely try it to learn to compose some counterpoint… the fugue shall be for the next decade 😋
Cheers everybody !
Cool and simple library! Seems like it’ll be a good stuff for me to create some cues for romantic sitcoms or something like television series)
Sounds lovely! Would love to incorporate this library into the music for this game I'm working on!
Hi my name is yoni. I watch a little bit of your videos on music composition but you mainly helped me explore the cine library. So sweet legatos!!I like it for my orchestral music!
Some decent chamber strings would be the perfect addition to my template. The sound is amazing!
I've heard this demo, and for the price, definitely purchasing it. Thanks for mentioning range. No other demo mentioned it. That is my complaint with some of the musio samples.
I LOVE THE LUSH SOUND
I'm studying orchestration since a couple of years and i'm going to implement cinematic elements in my next album release, my very first Opera Rock.
I agree

I'd totally use this to layer with CSS, and use it on its own too when I need more intimate strings! It's totally worth the price especially considering the core version is $749

Great library
I would use the libriary to make samples - and then slice and resample the melodies for new loops and song-starter! 🙏🖤
Definitely use these for more lighthearted and intimate scores. But could definitely use them for more adventure type stuff as well
This is a great one!
This will be great for score writing :D
the love this new library, owuld use it for more intimate things!
