I loved every single second of this vlog, you're making me wanna travel solo, go to portugal, speak with strangers and look amazing doing it all! Please never stop vlogging and gooshhh I wish I the whole world could see this!!!! f 💕 💕 💕
this comment alone almost reduced me to tears, thank you so much Mariam 😭😭😭❤️🔥
Portugal is great. Porto is another beautiful city worth visiting
Thanks for making this beautiful video. I'm currently on a solo trip in Lisbon and I've literally been struggling due to the hostile and perverted stares/reception I've been receiving (I'm a Black Woman). Unfortunately, this has been the theme throughout most of my solo travels across Europe, specifically. Similar to you, after an awful experience I had at a hostel in Amsterdam, I vouged never to stay at an hostel again. This video has definitely brighted up my mood and inspired me to really prioritise Black businesses (which I initially planned on doing but got side tracked due to the hostile vibes I've been getting from locals/tourists). I'll so book me a cute boat tour/trip 🥰 and I really plan the last few days I have left on this trip (i initially left my itinerary open as I wanted to be spontaneous, but that clearly isn't working out too well). Thanks for sharing. New subbie. 💐
Thank you for leaving this comment. It becomes so difficult trying to experience the joys of traveling when the environment doesn’t welcome you. I know the feeling all to well. I pray the rest of your travels went smoothly and you got to live your best life relaxing on a boat! Best of luck fellow traveler ❤️🥰
May I ask which places across Europe you found to be racist? So sorry to read this. Unfortunately a lot of people like black money but they don't like black people.
Portugal has been on my list for ages, think this may be my next solo location. But also your short hair suits you so much, soooo beautiful
Thank you for this!! I am planning a solo holiday in match to Faro. My first solo holiday. I am nervous but watching your video put me at ease! I took notes 📒

They are very racist over there I would advise you not to go you better off going to a African country
CONSTITUTION OF THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC
Article 13
(Principle of equality)
1. All citizens possess the same social dignity and are equal before the law.
2. No one may be privileged, favoured, prejudiced, deprived of any right or exempted from any duty for reasons of ancestry, sex, race, language, territory of origin, religion, political or ideological beliefs, education, economic situation, social circumstances or sexual orientation.
Pls which camera do you use
Hello I use a Sony ZV1!
Wow, for a woman of African descent you sure are privileged. Most people of African descent living or born in Portugal cannot afford to stay in a "ghetto" hostel or have a glass of white wine in a fancy upscale brunch place for wealthy tourists. Go on girl!
I’m in no denial about my privilege. I’ve stayed at many a hostel before however the ones I stayed in made me feel unsafe because of events that transpired with men in the room. My living quarters were also obviously unclean and the staff didn’t respond to my request for next unsoiled linen. I chose to exercise my privilege, I’m sure you use your privileges (whatever they may be) when you deem fit to as well. Take care x
@@NgoziE men?
i am going to cry now :(
faro cathedral has loads of visual references to subsaharan slaves brought to lagos (algarve) and you stayed a 2 mins walk away from an african bar/restaurant where people from the Palop go, mostly cleaners and construction workers.
Will you go back?
Yes definitely!! So much I still want to explore ❤️
from london brixton Uk. You should stop stop wearing the wigs. u dont need to wear wig. why. u r beautiful black girl. u so much better without the wig. nice video
its not you body and is not you business
There was no Spanish occupation… there was a Union through marriage. There is no way that was written there
Solo trip ?
Hello does everyone speak English for the most part
Hello! Not everyone but I found it easy to navigate without knowing any Portuguese. I would suggest learning how to say pleasantries (please, thank you, good morning).
