Hi Koos. Great vids. I’m putting together a sailing kayak and was wondering about your choice of rig. I was thinking of a gaff rig but your lug rig looks easy to drop. Any thoughts? Cheers Rob.
They are tapered profiles of windsurf mast, doubled up below. Diameter on the bottom is 60 mm. There's a video coming where I describe the whole boat, including mast and boom
@@Canoesailor that’s excellent. Really looking forward to it. I’m currently using aluminum mast and boom off of a much larger day sailor and it’s too heavy. Was looking into purchasing carbon fiber tubing and making my own from scratch. Never thought about using windsurf mast.
Koos, thanks for posting this! Sweden looks great--so much like my usual cruising grounds in the Canadian Great Lakes. And your trip is very much in the spirit of what I like to do with my own boats. In case you're interested, here's a couple of links to one of my trips to one of my favorite places: Georgian Bay. So much like the Baltic! Lovely video - it looks like a great location for kayak sailing! Thank you.
Thanks! I'm from Virginia and I feel like I've sailed Sweeden's east coast!
Great!
Great episode . Good music. That three reef lug rig really works well.
Looks like it was a good trip.
Indeed, great fun
Great Stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Great adventure! Would love to see more sailing footage with only the ambient sounds 👍
Good job and thank you for taking us along.
More to come!
Whoo, hoo, hoooo 😃 .
You're my idol, Koos.
Hahahaha thanks!

Yes, lugsail is the easiest to drop indeed, check out Michael Storer and lugsail, he's got great info on it.
Great stuff! If you don’t mind, what’s the diameter of your mast and boom?

@@Canoesailor must be a SDM mast with a RDM inside?
@@sailingoksi no it is the same mast, sdm, because I had a long one I kept enough to be able to cut it

Thanks, great videos and trips yourself, the area looks similar indeed, and small boat cruising too, the best!
