The reactions to Katakuri and Pudding really shows a double standard and how unnecessarily cruel some members can be. Flampe is shaped like an eggplant for crying out loud, I don't think she gets to tell us about beauty standards. Aside from that, there are dozens of other One Piece characters who look a lot more weird than those two for sure

Katakuri maybe the Antagonist of this arc but he is an Honorable Warrior. I respect this man, he hates outside interference especially from Big Mom crew and family. And his already respected Luffy.
Still don't understand Erza when it comes to Nami. She is first and foremost a navigator and only steps in when necessary when it comes to combat. She has stepped in plenty of times this arc when she needed to, but now the straw hats also have to get away safely as possible now.

@@LuffyToons Sanji and Zoro “technically” count as human, though that’s only based on the “lacking DF powers” angle; besides that alone, there’s a reason they’re part of the Monster Trio. And Jimbei is “technically” a normal fishman, who happened to go through a _lot_ of experiences before joining the crew, so while his scale of abilities is a bit different, it’s not like he’s still level 1 by this stage. Carrot, meanwhile, is not a ‘normal’ Mink, but her peak combat contribution has some specifics to it, and isn’t intended for sustained use. As far as roles go, the crew navigator and sniper getting into close-up fights as often as they do kind of says they aren’t “normal” to have survived up to this point (while the same goes for the crew carpenter, musician, and doctor, they _aren’t_ normal, between two DF users and a cyborg). Even so, it’s not like they never fight or contribute to group efforts, it’s solely that they _know well_ when they’re out of their personal depths.
Guys everybody is entitled to their own opinions, if she thinks the way of nami the way it is, it's her opinion and I respect that. I just Enjoy their reactions & all and it should be that way. I don't like many things about the show but one piece has influenced my life at a whole different way unlike many other show but that doesn't mean we discredit others opinion
Even if Lee asked her who dished the most damage to BM, and Erza answered straight up it's Nami. She still slandered her and it's now a case of nothing will ever be good enough.
Just think about how Katakuri probably never gets to fight or utilize his full power. Must suck to be that skilled and never get to flex that much. And when he finally has competition, his sister ruins it.
In TTRPG terms Nami is a Rogue Spellcaster hybrid: good at thievery and deception with a bit weather spells but with low hp she will be out quickly with a few hits. Her skill set isn't built for direct combat and comparing her to Boa Hancock (who is raised on an island of warrior woman) and Tashigi (who is a trained soldier and swordsman enthusiasts) is not a fair comparison. I understand Erza, she wants everyone of the Straw Hat crew to be fit for battle but has too high of standards. Sometimes it is better to run away than to just fight a losing situation ala Joseph Joestar.
"1 in a million have conquerors haki" (i think sonia hebi said it somewhere around episode 500-517) i imagine those who discovered they had it are in one of the 3 bodies of power.....pirates, world government, and revolutionaries/bounty hunters. so far the #1 and #2 of any orginazation at that level should have conquerors haki.
Basically, it’s something that would only awaken in someone who would need/make use of it, wouldn’t be useful for someone who would never take up arms and “conquer.” Not to say that all conquerors would have it, either, though.
When katakuri walked to luffy I'm pretty sure he walked up to luffy to a point where his vision would see him as tall as him. To show he respects luffy as an equal.

And she had already fought Brulee, as well as Cracker and the enraged army alongside Luffy earlier in the arc. She has accomplished way more in combat than Chopper according to the facts. If Nami instead decided to hit Big Mom in the face with the Clima Tact, which would end up doing absolutely nothing, would Erza actually be more happy with that instead? Or would she use it as another example to hate on Nami? It's just incredibly disingenuous to be okay with Chopper when he fails, but expect more from Nami even when she's already accomplished far more this arc.
Then what will she do if they are in war like marineford war, she will sit and is it crew job to protect her. Then chopper is doctor and his job only to cure the diseased people and it's the crew job to protect chopper. And robin archaeologist and her job is only to find truth and crew must protect her, brook job is playing music in ship and crew must protect brook. Every one has thier job in ship. If you're in pirate group atleast you should put some fight. Nami did wonders in this arc. But in this episode atleast give fight. And luffy also not there, and if captain not present in ship, it is the crew job to protect by saying i am navigator, it's not my job to fight is not at all acceptable in fight.Take chopper, he has same fear what nami has(usopp, nami, chopper ). But he ready for sacrifice, he knows it is not possible for him to win but atleast he is fighting. Nami knows so much about weather and atmosphere, she trained. Katakuri's will is to be honoured. But as shown, from his childhood, people just refused to acknowledge him as a person and snatched away his basic honour. This conflict probably made him strong and earned honour with regards to his prowess. But that honour is not true, as he is fearful that if he shows even a peek of his weak side(enjoying donuts, falling on back, showing his face, etc), he will lose all of it. But this fight with Luffy is making him crave for that true honour, and he has learned that Luffy is not bothered by all his weak sides and this fight with him will give him true honour even if it's just from the eyes of Luffy, therefore he is like fuck this false honour from all of you and stabs himself and shows his true self
From this point katakuri is fighting luffy on the same ground, he is limiting himself out of respect to guarantee a fair fight without any trick. Until now he wanted to crush luffy spirit and make him ask mercy. Every single time luffy tried to hit him, he didn't even defend himself but just evaded the hit changing shape to instill the idea that he couldn't be hit and he was that much superior, now instead he is ready to be hit and taking damage if his haki can't block.

Totally disappointing, Toei didnt add the part from the Manga, where Katakuri *even encourages Luffy* to get up / not to give up! This made him undoubtedly more honorable than it has already been shown in the Anime.

First time, i want luffy may lose this fight, man katakuri got respect. From the starting of the fight, i sensed different vibe from him, cool, not wasting time(when luffy getting power up), his way of speaking, and when luffy disturbed the meal time of katakuri, he smashed luffy, that time he reminded luffy. Sorry but, Erza here is just hating on Nami for the sake of hating her like all Nami haters. Sure I do understand her wanting more from her. Ppl wanting Nami to be this extremely powerful character that can solve all problems is someone that doesn't understand her character at all. Based on personality, character, abilities Nami is one of the most entertaining character in the series and is the MOST relevant character after Luffy in the story. And that's just facts. You guys are anime only but me as a manga reader I will tell you that Oda has LITERALLY stated Luffy, Nami and Zoro to be the most important Straw Hats and he has stated them to be "the pillars/triggers of the series". And Oda has also stated several times that Nami is the main Heroine of the series which makes her an extremely important character. You can literally see that in the story just how much she is involved with the main plot of the story all the time. While other SHs are pushed to the back. She's literally doing something great each arc unlike other character where they don't even contribute a lot. Bringing her down to simply being a "powerful" character is disrespecting the character Oda built for her for 20+ years. Nami is not a brawler, she doesn't fight. In fact, she wants to get the hell away from a fight if it is possible. She's literally from the coward trio with Usopp and Chopper. When have you seen Usopp or Chopper engaging in a fight on their own. They try to avoid fighting as much as possible. Haters don't understand this one simple character trait and then hate because they're not doing things that THEY want these characters to do. Like for eg: you don't go complaining about Why the hell isn't Sanji washing the cloths. No idiots, he's a fking cook. He should be in the kitchen, not the laundry. Got his leg bone cracked so he literally ran away from the fight because he couldn't beat him. Tried to stop Doflamingo, got shoved like it's nothing, he disrespected and hurt his own captain and all he's done in WCI is whine and cry like a little b*tch instead of fighting like a man. In fact, Sanji barely fought anyone in this entire arc. He's LITERALLY just baking a Cake for the enemy. If she needs to get mad at someone than that should Sanji, not Nami. Nami has literally been one of the most amazing SHs ever since post timeskip and yet she's getting hate for no damn reason saying that "sHe ShOuLd Do MoRe", like WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM HER??? She forgave Jinbei in a heartbeat and didn't blame him for what happened to her, despite her terrible past with the fishmen she instantly bonded with Shirahoshi. She saved the kids in PH, if it wasn't for her the SHs would've left the kids alone on that island. She was the only one that came up and said that she WANTS to help the children despite not knowing anything about what was happening there, and then Later Chopper also wanted to treat the kids after knowing what was happening to them. Furthermore, she even let Tashigi help the kids because she could tell that she is a really good woman instead of hating her for being a marine. Dressrosa, She defeated Giolla (the art lady) and was also the one that came up with the plan of separating the crew and leaving for Zou. At Zou she was also helping the minks a lot and was the one who had the most bond with them. You see this constantly, Only Luffy and Nami bonds with characters every arc showing that they're the main hero and heroine like Oda mentioned. Inu and Neko also highlighted Nami's skill at Zou for being a great Navigator to which Luffy complimented her. In WCI, she is with Luffy throughout everything. Nami fought along side Luffy with Cracker for 11 hrs straight, then when Sanji beat the shit out of Luffy and disrespect his dreams Nami still stood by her captain and slapped the shit out of Sanji for doing that despite knowing that Sanji might've been forced to do so. In her eyes there are no "reasons" that is justifiable for hitting Luffy bloodied like that. She stayed by Luffy and fought 100k+ Big Mom's Army till the end. She even went to jail with him. Through out the arc she's been extremely Loyal to Luffy, and her loyalty is only rivaled by Zoro in this story, again showing the Luffy, Zoro and Nami dynamic. She was also the one acting as Captain when Luffy ordered them to break all the mirrors. When other's hesitated she was the only one despite not wanting to herself, she respected Luffy's order and followed him. She's also the ONLY SH that has actively damaged and stopped Big Mom a FREAKING Yonkou, TWICE, with her attacks and stole her weapon in the process. Even if she's not the strongest she's shown to be the most reliable as you see her working along side JInbei while he's sailing the boat as she's navigating the sea. There's a lot more she does in the future so I won't spoil you guys but hating Nami for dumb reasons like "sHe ShOuLd Do MoRe" or comparing her with actually fighters like Luffy, Zoro and Sanji as to why she isn't fighting is plain stupid. Anyway, again sorry for the wall of text and my ranting. But I had to get these out of my chest. 😂 Now I feel much better haha. Never understood the pirate thing when Luffy fought cracker he got help from nami but that’s was not a problem. When katakuri got help it suddenly became an honor thing but no one says anything about Luffy beating cracker with help. They are pirates and when they fight there are no rules
In fact luffy didn't complain about the help she gave to katakuri,its more irritating for katakuri,plus its not like he needed help,he was in the upper hand,while luffy Vs cracker was going down bad,so for katakuri to receive help when hes winning its very annoying for him and anyone else
They all have haki, only the low level no name pirates don't have it, but all the commanders and captains have haki, some of them could even have conqueror haki because before becoming subordinates to the whitebeard pirates they were captains like luffy, law, Hawkins, kid etc who aimed to be king of pirates. In the world 1 out of 1 million people have conqueror haki, but in the story we see only the top, so there are many who have it, in the new world is common seeing them, like is common seeing people who have df, because the strongest goes there, like chinjao said to luffy there are many other people who he has to "conquer" to be the king of the pirates and he isn't all that special in the new world.
Current Nami has nothing on Nami from Alabasta and Ennis Lobby. I think thats more so what Erza is thinking of in the back of her mind when she looks at combat from Nami. Those were desperate battle Nami used her own power and ingenuity to overcome rather than just a plot device.
It’s the New World. She learned more about the weather and not combat. Again she has stepped up when needed like when she held off the guy in the forest with Luffy or when she went against the mirror lady. The vivre card is her using her ingenuity. She’s always used the pole since Ussop gave it to her and now that’s also what got better in the 2 years.
I myself am a weekly viewer and I can tell you right now it sucks ass lol, for example we had like 4 weeks of one piece before these 2 episodes that’s just recently came out so enjoy it but at a pace I should say lol

@@YaBoyRockLee Chopper's hand to hand combat left him bleeding against Big Mom. Nami was actually able to turn Big Mom's own attacks against her and her crew by controlling Zeus. And she had already fought Brulee, as well as Cracker and the enraged army alongside Luffy earlier in the arc.
She has accomplished way more in combat than Chopper according to the facts.
If Nami instead decided to hit Big Mom in the face with the Clima Tact, which would end up doing absolutely nothing, would Erza actually be more happy with that instead? Or would she use it
as another example to hate on Nami?
It's just incredibly disingenuous to be okay with Chopper when he fails, but expect more from Nami even when she's already accomplished far more this arc.

Katakuri's will is to be honoured. But as shown, from his childhood, people just refused to acknowledge him as a person and snatched away his basic honour. This conflict probably made him strong and earned honour with regards to his prowess. But that honour is not true, as he is fearful that if he shows even a peek of his weak side(enjoying donuts, falling on back, showing his face, etc), he will lose all of it.
But this fight with Luffy is making him crave for that true honour, and he has learned that Luffy is not bothered by all his weak sides and this fight with him will give him true honour even if it's just from the eyes of Luffy, therefore he is like fuck this false honour from all of you and stabs himself and shows his true self

From this point katakuri is fighting luffy on the same ground, he is limiting himself out of respect to guarantee a fair fight without any trick. Until now he wanted to crush luffy spirit and make him ask mercy. Every single time luffy tried to hit him, he didn't even defend himself but just evaded the hit changing shape to instill the idea that he couldn't be hit and he was that much superior, now instead he is ready to be hit and taking damage if his haki can't block.

About the nami slander, she is not a fighter, she can fight lower enemies, but there is no attack in her arsenal that can reach a Yonko. Also, in this arc, she gave constant assist to Luffy against Cracker, that fight would end way worse if she wasn't there, she made the homies obey, kept Luffy in control when he was diving against big mom without thinking, made the crew understand Luffy's orders when he got to the big 1v1 with Best boy Kat so... I think she really shined
If we gonna complain about fighters, Chopper in this arc was good, but in a lot of other arcs he was running away or not fighting and he ain't weak at all. In fact, he has 8 forms (including monster point), but when was the last time you saw him using brain point ,leg point or horn point? he really wastes his talent

From the starting of the fight, i sensed different vibe from him, cool, not wasting time(when luffy getting power up), his way of speaking, and when luffy disturbed the meal time of katakuri, he smashed luffy, that time he reminded luffy. Based on personality, character, abilities Nami is one of the most entertaining character in the series and is the MOST relevant character after Luffy in the story. And that's just facts.
You guys are anime only but me as a manga reader I will tell you that Oda has LITERALLY stated Luffy, Nami and Zoro to be the most important Straw Hats and he has stated them to be "the pillars/triggers of the series". And Oda has also stated several times that Nami is the main Heroine of the series which makes her an extremely important character. You can literally see that in the story just how much she is involved with the main plot of the story all the time. While other SHs are pushed to the back.
She's literally doing something great each arc unlike other character where they don't even contribute a lot. Bringing her down to simply being a "powerful" character is disrespecting the character Oda built for her for 20+ years. Nami is not a brawler, she doesn't fight. In fact, she wants to get the hell away from a fight if it is possible. She's literally from the coward trio with Usopp and Chopper. When have you seen Usopp or Chopper engaging in a fight on their own. They try to avoid fighting as much as possible. Haters don't understand this one simple character trait and then hate because they're not doing things that THEY want these characters to do.
Like for eg: you don't go complaining about Why the hell isn't Sanji washing the cloths. No idiots, he's a fking cook. He should be in the kitchen, not the laundry. Just like that, complaining that Nami of all the characters...NAMI. Complaining why she isn't fighting front and center is just STUPID.
So I really don't understand why the hell is Erza comparing her with the likes of the monster trio like Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. Let's have a little recap, shall we?
He tried fighting Vergo in Punk Hazard. Got his leg bone cracked so he literally ran away from the fight because he couldn't beat him. Tried to stop Doflamingo, got shoved like it's nothing, he disrespected and hurt his own captain and all he's done in WCI is whine and cry like a little b*tch instead of fighting like a man.
In fact, Sanji barely fought anyone in this entire arc. He's LITERALLY just baking a Cake for the enemy. If she needs to get mad at someone than that should Sanji, not Nami.
Nami has literally been one of the most amazing SHs ever since post timeskip and yet she's getting hate for no damn reason saying that "sHe ShOuLd Do MoRe", like WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM HER???
She forgave Jinbei in a heartbeat and didn't blame him for what happened to her, despite her terrible past with the fishmen she instantly bonded with Shirahoshi. She saved the kids in PH, if it wasn't for her the SHs would've left the kids alone on that island. She was the only one that came up and said that she WANTS to help the children despite not knowing anything about what was happening there, and then Later Chopper also wanted to treat the kids after knowing what was happening to them. Furthermore, she even let Tashigi help the kids because she could tell that she is a really good woman instead of hating her for being a marine. Dressrosa, She defeated Giolla (the art lady) and was also the one that came up with the plan of separating the crew and leaving for Zou. At Zou she was also helping the minks a lot and was the one who had the most bond with them. You see this constantly, Only Luffy and Nami bonds with characters every arc showing that they're the main hero and heroine like Oda mentioned. Inu and Neko also highlighted Nami's skill at Zou for being a great Navigator to which Luffy complimented her. In WCI, she is with Luffy throughout everything. Nami fought along side Luffy with Cracker for 11 hrs straight, then when Sanji beat the shit out of Luffy and disrespect his dreams Nami still stood by her captain and slapped the shit out of Sanji for doing that despite knowing that Sanji might've been forced to do so. In her eyes there are no "reasons" that is justifiable for hitting Luffy bloodied like that. She stayed by Luffy and fought 100k+ Big Mom's Army till the end. She even went to jail with him. Through out the arc she's been extremely Loyal to Luffy, and her loyalty is only rivaled by Zoro in this story, again showing the Luffy, Zoro and Nami dynamic. She was also the one acting as Captain when Luffy ordered them to break all the mirrors. When other's hesitated she was the only one despite not wanting to herself, she respected Luffy's order and followed him. She's also the ONLY SH that has actively damaged and stopped Big Mom a FREAKING Yonkou, TWICE, with her attacks and stole her weapon in the process. Even if she's not the strongest she's shown to be the most reliable as you see her working along side JInbei while he's sailing the boat as she's navigating the sea.
There's a lot more she does in the future so I won't spoil you guys but hating Nami for dumb reasons like "sHe ShOuLd Do MoRe" or comparing her with actually fighters like Luffy, Zoro and Sanji as to why she isn't fighting is plain stupid.
Anyway, again sorry for the wall of text and my ranting. But I had to get these out of my chest. 😂

In part I share your opinion with Nami in almost all aspects, but with Sanji I think you went too far Look in his defense I can tell you that his main role is not that of a fighter like Zoro and yet he is almost as strong as him being the second wing of the future king of the pirates In Punk Hazard being more accurate in his fight against Vergo he was fighting a very rotten character who was a master of haki weapons, unlike Zoro who was simply fighting Monet (just like in Dressrosa who fought Pica) and the same thing happens here, literally the poor guy had to fight against the villain on duty that even Luffy had a hard time defeating him with the help of Law, and if we talk about Whole Cake, I can see that unfortunately you did not understand the meaning that Oda wanted to give us with this arc.

I wouldn't say a "lot" of people have the color of the supreme king. IIRC most of whitebeards commanders don't even have Haki at all.
They all have haki, only the low level no name pirates don't have it, but all the commanders and captains have haki, some of them could even have conqueror haki because before becoming subordinates to the whitebeard pirates they were captains like luffy, law, Hawkins, kid etc who aimed to be king of pirates.
In the world 1 out of 1 million people have conqueror haki, but in the story we see only the top, so there are many who have it, in the new world is common seeing them, like is common seeing people who have df, because the strongest goes there, like chinjao said to luffy there are many other people who he has to "conquer" to be the king of the pirates and he isn't all that special in the new world.

Current Nami has nothing on Nami from Alabasta and Ennis Lobby. I think thats more so what Erza is thinking of in the back of her mind when she looks at combat from Nami. Those were desperate battle Nami used her own power and ingenuity to overcome rather than just a plot device.
It’s the New World. She learned more about the weather and not combat. Again she has stepped up when needed like when she held off the guy in the forest with Luffy or when she went against the mirror lady. The vivre card is her using her ingenuity. She’s always used the pole since Ussop gave it to her and now that’s also what got better in the 2 years.
