little side note, before and after you put new gloves on, wash or desinfect your hands! before desinfecting your stuff , you need to clean it. so first cleaning, then desinfect. let the desinfect liquid dry out after you wipe the area, so spray it on your instruments ( table or chair or what ever) wipe it, but dont wipe it dry. let the desinfection do its job and kill the germs etc thats on the place. this is how you get your license for your tattoo shop.
Great video!!! I’m about to embark on my tattooing journey and this is the most important thing I want to make sure I get down to a T. Nothing like having and keeping everything clean and clients safe.
I absolutely love the music selection for a long format video. Having ADHD, this music made such a difference in my attention span which watching. I don't watch a lot of these types of videos mainly cause I cant stand the happy go lucky music that's typically used. Thanks so much for taking the time to share this information. Biggest takeaway is the stainless steel stations. Love the look of them and always love an easier clean up.
the only problem i see with this is using the grip tape as a barrier, it's not meant to be a barrier. his machine should still be wrapped unless of course he's using an ultrasonic cleanser and an autoclave. sick tutorials man keep it up love your videos. much respect.
@@Fieldflowerss then you would be throwing them away anyway and the rest of your machine would be covered. The point was just wrapping kitchen roll round and then the grip tape there is no barrier between the bloody hands and the actually pen, soak through the bandage and kitchen roll
Not here to be a hater or no shit at all, I really like this channel. At 6:06 in the video you touch the contaminated plastic wrap then dispose of it, but at 6:15 you touch the unwrapped machine with the same contaminated gloves. At 6:42 you touch the spray bottle (which will be used in the next tattoo) with the same contaminated glove. I see you wipe the bottle after but the spray bottle is porous plastic
This is by far the MOST important part of tattooing, your art skills will improve over time but bad hygiene can cause infections and viruses. Even if your just starting your tattooing journey make sure to study Blood Born Pathogen safety
Can someone explain to me the skin prep process. Is it razor, then alcohol, stencil, green soap and the start tattooing skin? Using a tattoo slide through out then finish off with green soap??? Cannot find this information anywhere.
Nice to know I’ve been doing set up and breakdowns correctly! Thank you again as always Oliver! You truly help me ALOT mate and I can’t express enough my gratitude. Do you ever come to the states?
Absolutely loved this detailed video, I am starting off my tattooing career very soon! So this was very helpful. I will be checking out your other videos as well.
Wow, my ex-mentor told me to take one pair of gloves off and put them back on several times during one session if I needed to touch anything. He also didn't change wrappings on his tattoo furniture and he never wrapped the bed. He had one sharpie that he reused on all clients. We had an argument because of something else and then he fired me from the course. Great experience 😅
@@sovanocni3696 so what to do in this case?, as I assume using different Sharpe (or whatever pen it's used) for each client is not an option. Is there a way of disinfect it? Cheers
What i dont understand is you pull the wrap off the item, when you are pulling it off you are getting your gloves dirty, and then you hold the unwrapped item with dirty gloves?
Loving your content man! One question, cleaning your machine between clients, is it enough with just a good wipe with disinfect? I’m not a tattooer just curious. Because it cant be soaked or autoclave right? Thanks for your vids.
After picking up all the plastic wrap and stuff with blood particles on it, am I switching to another pair to wipe ? Apologies if you covered this in the video and I missed it. Thanks
So, do i understand that correctly: It is not the goal to have all items and work surface sterile, just wrapped so blood of the Client does not stay on anything that gets reused on another? Cause clingfilm is not sterile, neither are tongue depressors and kitchen roll, right? We just assume they are clean enough for our use?
Love your video's! Keep up the awesome content... but just one thing. When breaking down the station you are cross contaminating a lot of things in the room. Try using the one clean and one dirty hand rule.
Big Question - How do you sterilize the cartridge port on the machine? The moment you change cartridges during a session, you cross-contam the grip. Or just use one machine for each cartridge used?
Where is your clean hand? . I would not use both hand I. Order to keep on clean to hold the object after take wrap with one hand and hold it on the clean one. I think I got all the infection all over your equipments
When doing a germicide soak for grips over night is unnecessary. Most germicides tell you how long they take to be effective and it's typically around 10 minutes
Ok so my only issue wit this video is this , once u breaking down your set up you shouldn't touch anything that's contaminated once u touch that bottle wit both gloves that was a no no , I usually do a one clean hand n one dirty hand cant touch that bottle with both dirty gloves that's cross contamination on that bottle

Good comment
Does alcohol can be used as disinfectant?

I find it kinda ridiculous myself.

NO! All your hand dirty!
Before and after putting on gloves, wash your hands. Because you touch the outside of the gloves when putting them on/off
your videos are always helpfull to me thank you , your the only valuable channel here that really hepls us tattoo artess

The sharpie is used on unbroken skin, it isnt a problem?
@@annikafrankenstein it is a problem because the skin will be broken. It's a well known fact that reusing sharpies on multiple clients is bad.

Kind of amazed that you don’t, and still don’t wrap your machine.

How often do you autoclave your equipment?

Have you used the absorber packets that harden the liquid enabling it to be able to crush up and throw in trash bin ?

Isnt it bad to wash hand after an 8 hours works? Will it not lead to fatigue of hands and shaky for the future. Common problems of cooks and chefs.

@@OLIVERAYRE Yep, the Hep C virus does not "die" even using disinfectants, if contamination occurs the maximum virus life is six weeks.
@13R^D but Oliver didn't autoclave anything
@13R^D you're right. The fact that he told us he soaks them overnight did.
Why not one clean one dirty when breaking down? You made a ton of extra work for yourself at the end
