Leica M11 Monochrom takes on appalachia - E7 S1

We continue east into western North Carolina. Before we head out on our next photography adventure, we open our new Leica M11 Monochrom, and attach our 35mm Summilux version 2 lens. This combination is quintessential of traditional Leica style and aesthetic.
We explore rural America in the towns of Boone, Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain, Gulf, Bryson City, Wilkesboro, Meat Camp, and Sands. Check out the abandoned tomato shack and church!
We meet up with a young couple from Germany that are traveling the United States in a converted school bus or “Schoolie.” We take their portrait and give them the prints.

I am documenting the decay on a black and white medium the fade of iconic American roadside sights, mixed in with the landscape and portrait shots of the people we meet along the way. This project was inspired by a combination of inspiration from the photography greats in street photography, landscape photography, new topographic photography, and portrait photography. This photographic project isn’t limited to a genre, disciple, or discipline, but rather being able to adapt the variability of life as it comes your way.
I shoot with Leica cameras and many Leica and Voightlander lenses. I am a big fan of vintage lenses and the lens designer Walter Mandler. My everyday carry is the Leica 35mm Summilux Steel Rim reissue. More on Leica photo equipment in practical use in coming episodes.

Yes. Have the Canon Prograf 1000. I switched from Epson which gave me lots of problems.
