I was a kid when I played this and I got stuck on this level. It didnt help that I never read any of the rules or instructions. Basically I didnt know I was supposed to blow up the tanks, when I realised I had the mines I just wasted them randomly. There was a spot on near that little belt thing at the end and when the soldiers come close they can glitch you onto the belt. Im not sure how I did it but I would end up on top of the belt and the soldiers could not shoot me because I suppose you're not supposed to be at that height in that area. They will just run to you and stop. You can shoot them and because of how close they are you will pickup their guns. They wont stop coming, they will come one at a time. I thought I was supposed to kill all of them. I did that every day for a month for hours until somebody told me what to do.
Is the default pistol seriously the best weapon, or is it just the one you prefer?
+Omniplayer It's the one I prefer, but it has great accuracy so it's great at all distances and easier to deal headshot damage, so you could say it's one of the best ones, yeah. As you can see through the whole playthrough it's my most used weapon unless I run out of ammo or get other that's obviously better, like the AR33 in Jungle.

My personal best is 1:24 now. I never got into speedrun strats for GoldenEye though, only for Perfect Dark, so it's not close to the record which is 0:52.

More like the power of having the horrendous trademark N64 anti-aliasing switched off. But sure, the resolution helps a bit too.
Switching to PC now is a huge mistake in my opinion. Nvidia is practically having a monopoly on gaming graphics and charge more and more for smaller changes and longer upgrade cycles. Steam is getting more and more customer unfriendly and publishers explore other platforms, forcing you to have several different store and DRM accounts.
PlayStation 5 will use a Ryzen 3000 CPU, which will be a huge uplift* and open the door to true MMO's on console and pave the way for games with a vast and unprecedented amount of details and possibly even new genres.
PS5 will also use Navi graphics, which will be at least on par with Vega or GTX 1080 today. And remember that theoretical computational power is much better utilised on consoles than on PC. Typically you need a PC with twice the performance to be on par with any given console. PS5 will be a beast.
Nintendo Switch and, later on, the PS5 will rule gaming the coming years.
*The Jaguar CPUs used in the current consoles were designed for thin laptops and are only marginally more powerful than the PowerPC based CPUs in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And those PPC CPU microarchitectures were lacking a little in some ways, mostly no out-of-order execution. So we're still on 15 year old technology in the consoles. The CPU uplift in the next home console generation will be huge.
And we can play Goldeneye in 4K too :D
@Analyzing Male Slavery PC will always be better... the games for consoles are MADE on PC and the graphics will always be the latest, whereas consoles you have to wait for an upgrade every 5 years.

Don't get me wrong, I've been emulating for years. I even do it through my Series S. But the fact this came to Xbox my friends and I made a major game night. Pizza, beer, and 007. We were all ten again. Well, aside from the beer.

I remember trying for months to get the cheat on this level. So hard! Plus you need Dr Doak to be in the right spot.
I remember the first time I was on this level as a kid that I killed Trevelyan as soon as I got to the bottling room as I thought he was a guard since I hadn't read the briefing or seen the movie at the time lol
I'm here after remastered and I had to search for the second time I a row because I keep forgetting there's items in my inventory. First the modem now the decoder 😡
I've only recently watched the film for the first time, and it's so cool how it recreates the movie scenes.
When I played this on the n64, id set this to secret agent, go to the scientists and shoot them twice in the leg and make take their gun out. Or camp at the end of the level on the second floor on top of escape door, and gun down the soldiers. First Id have to put gun cheats use the golden gun to kill Ouromov. Lol
i wish thet released this game on nitendo gamecube but clear graphics
PC. Smooth game play. I noticed being able to turn fast means you getting more accurate shots, and also rarely ever getting hit. N64 controllers were much slower. Playing on PC looks really satisfying actually.

Glad I watched this or I wouldn't have known how to get into the bottling room. I didn't remember. They didn't make it at all obvious. There'll be a lot of people who searched around for how to get in for ages and eventually just gave up because they didn't know they had to select the door decoder in the watch

If you complete this level under a certain time and on the hardest difficulty, you could unlock the god mode cheat :-) I could never quite make this achievement.

Just have to basically run through the level taking the most direct route....
Best level is Silo for invincibility.... Shoot a plastique and watch the fireworks.
I'm honestly better than this guy, not blowing my own horn or anything, but I played the N64 version which is harder imo as the controls aren't as fluid so it requires more skill
As I already replied on the other videos; you don't know how I play on N64, and yes I also played it there with the original controls. I've also unlocked everything in the original game.
Not saying you're bad or that it's not possible that you're better than me, which is totally possible, but going through several videos saying this is indeed trying to show off a bit on something you can't really prove, specially when this gameplay is not meant to show off skills or is related to how I play on N64. These videos' purpose is to show the game in clear quality with good gameplay in the background, that's it.

I always found this one and Statue absolutely amazing how low they put the target time. Like you handled this like a boss, and you're still almost DOUBLE the target time. I see you have done it though, I did too when I was a kid, but I must have beaten the level a hundred times, and died a thousand times, before getting it.
i remember i used to shoot trevelyan on the end of this map and have him chase me around the map trying to hide from him not getting killed x'D

Well, i Like This Game But something that this game has and also 007 reloaded is that it has things that are inaccurate to the movie like here, in the movie, bond presses the button and jumps layed down in the moving conveyor belt, but here just crouchs and the conveyor belt doesn't move, also bond is alone in the start unlike the movie which he comes with Trevelyan aka 006 in the ducts

POV: The year is 1997, You’re 7 years old, you’re just about to get outta school.. this has been on your mind ALL FUCKING DAY, you finally get home, blow on the cartridge n pop it in. Your mom is in the kitchen making dinner and you ain’t worried about shit accept bedtime n what’s for dinner. For a moment we all thought those times would never end.
And we were in a rush to be “grown up” just so we didn’t have to have a bedtime. Smh I miss my childhood so much.

so 1st time yesterday for a long time playing this, did the 1st 4 missions on secret agent. Went bk to do them on 00agent. Definitely struggled. Took me long enough to do the Dam.
Biggest thing to remember is don't shoot the scientists or you'll find yourself running around the corridors in circles with nothing to do.👍

Facility it my favorite level with god mode infinite ammo and double auto shoot gun at the end i kill ourumov with golden gun and i kill lots of soldiers
my first time at the ending i thought i was meant to gun down all the guards. Second time i ran through the doors. I was not meant for 1997 gaming.
I literally killed 006 the first time attempting this mission because I didn't know which one was 006 lol
I always end up blowing up 006 but at least I got the rendezvous with him objective first
my briefing:
you'll be working with 006 on his assignment, the bottling
room is the rendezvous point. don't forget to contact our double agent scientist before you leave, and warn him to get out. he will provide you with a decoder for the final security door. there are no woman or casinos for thousand miles, 007 so even you will be able to concentrate on this mission.

A modern take on Goldeneye 007 controls-
You CAN play the original game the way modern FPS controls work.
Here is how:
First choose in game controls menu "1.2 solitaire" and use an original N64 controller (sorry Brawler64 I still love you). Now put your left hand on the D-pad for walking and strafing, and your Right hand to use the stick for looking and aiming only. Change the inverted or non-inverted as desired "Reverse" or "Upright" in game. The right index finger is now to shoot. Your left index finger is now to aim with the L button. This functions similar to and mimics the hand assignments of most modern FPS and newer controllers. This fixes the original tank-like control option that a lot of kids used back in the day.
BTW, you can also use these similar controls for Duke Nukem64, Turok, Doom64, Quake 2 already has this control setting by default!
These videos are played with mouse and keyboard and 60fps, nothing more modern than this for a 1997 game lol
