Gratz on the record! If you want an easy record to beat, both ending B wr runs are fairly slow and not too hard to do, as long as you have decent strat vs gro. Also, during all my time speedrunning this game, I've never seen both quill and empty scroll drop from those crates. So if someone actually does that strat, I would be very surprised.

By all accounts, F&H is a game that should NOT be as fun as it is to speedrun, but something about it just propels you to keep getting better and better at the game, and putting some of the speedrun strats in motion is quite enjoyable.
Now if only I could get up off my ass and try a run in a non-Dungeon Nights category...

something weird about speedrunning is that the longer the speedrun is, the less stressful it is. one mistake will cost you such a small fraction of time in long runs that it doesnt matter at all
That is also true, but the longer a category gets explored, the less mistakes you can do!
Every time "Fear and Hunger" is uttered, the video speeds up by 1%
I swear at this point frapp could reverse engineer the whole game
It's probably easier to rebuild it from start!
I mean when you get to the point you can fix the bugs in the game yourself

Frapollo it was very good video, my suggestion to not be affraid of speedruning other categories, this speedrun was very hard because you needed only to be mechanically faster, in other categories you can find better strategies that are used now. Just for example first speedruns in dark souls 2 was about 3 to 4 hours now they are literally less than hour. I think you have very big chances to get WRs in other categories

About that strategy Frapollo mentioned in the end, I have been trying it for multiple months on end. It takes a lot of patience and it's happened sometimes, but not fumbling the writing part and positioning is excrutiatingly difficult after, say, 6 hours of mindlessness.
Yeah I absolutely think having the nerves to not mess up once you get the perfect rng is very difficult!
Watching frapollos first stream when hes actually stopping and thinking what to do. To see him speedrunning and gaining confidence in himself in the game and his voice changes to more confidence in his videos is truly the best thing please don't stop frapollo, As a starting player I really enjoy all the guides and the streams even though they are old lol.

While waiting for your streams to return a friend of mine and me started playing some funger and when I fought the crow mauler for the first time, I knew exactly how to use the items I had in order to defeat him without losing any limbs or party members, I felt pretty proud of myself in that moment. My friend who was watching, achieved the same thing when he was playing and fighting it. Yeah speedrun is so stress full to another level of good at the game. I play funger a lot lately know many trick and win but almost like 1/4 of game i just pause and slow thinking as my reaction hard to be faster for thinking.

Once I tried to casually speedrun an old grindy RPG for fun. It probably takes 80-100 hours to complete legitimately because of how grindy and slow it is. I think my best time was like 75 minutes or something, about half of it was spent farming for a specific rare drop so I could duplicate it and kill monsters way above my level.
Sometimes you need luck, but having intimate knowledge of the game can help you plan an optimal route

that's actually how I found out about this game. I was searching for music that was 100% unrelated to the game... or that particular category. TH-cam just went "oh, we got something a little different you might be interested in...."

Longer speed runs are.... somewhat less strressful, because it's no longer about making every input perfectly. By necessity they are more forgiving. The stress starts when you have a good run and are near the end.
Ehhh I know what you mean, but the longer a category is explored, the less chances for mistakes will be left!
