One of the most beautiful things that Jason Carter said about President Carter was he demonstrated that you don't have to change who you are to be involved in politics.

I have been a long time supporter of the Carter Center and I met and spoke with Jason, as well as other staff, earlier this year. My sincere condolences to the Carter family and to everyone at the Carter Center. While he received some criticism of his time in office (most of it undeserved), there has never been another ex-president that has done as much for society as President Carter. For example, one of the goals of the Carter Center was to eradicate the guinea worm. In the 1980s, when they started their efforts, there were 3.5 million cases of this terrible disease. Now, thanks to their efforts, there are only a couple dozen cases yearly. President Carter's goal was to have it eradicated in his lifetime, but the fight continues. He truly deserved his Nobel Prize!

Didn't drink or smoke and was religious which means less stressing over things that do not matter and comfort in the hard times. I saw a movie once where some explorers got into a bad place and the two members that were religious were calm whereas the non believer was freaking out. The Muslim and Christian told him sometimes you have to just let go and leave things in bigger hands than your own. Carter did that.

His faith, connections to family and community, and sense of purpose through humanitarian work definitely helped him live to 100 however he wasn’t as healthy in his elderly age due to a family history with cancer. He outlived his last sibling by 35 years which is extremely impressive. I wish Carter had lived to 110 (which is theoretically possible) so he would go down in history as one of the oldest politicians ever.

What a wonderful legacy the former President Jimmy Carter leaves behind. He and his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter, have touched so many peoples lives for the better because of their service to America and humanity. In fact, it would not be flattery to say they were an inspiration to many people of different faiths, as well as progressive Christians. Thank you for sharing your grandfather's life stories with us. He stood up for what was right in the deep south when few people would have. It's hard to stand up for your beliefs when you're being persecuted and no longer welcomed in some circles anymore. But, he's welcomed in the Lord's circles now. Amen!
"For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, 🫴 and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith."
    ~ 2nd Timothy 4:6-7 (NKJV)
"Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."

First and foremost, he was a true believer of God. He was doing God's work going around the country and the world helping those less fortunate. Second, he had his dear wife, and it appears they worked side by side throughout their whole life, He loved her so and she loved him. You can tell just how he looked at her and held her so, it's really quite endearing. He also exercised, keeping in shape Mentally, physically and spiritually is very important to living a long and rewarding life.

President Jimmy Carter, what an example of a true public servant! His legacy of humility, decency and staying true to his moral code is an example for us all. When he and his wife started Habitat for Humanity, I happily donated money every year and I will continue to do so. I will watch his services and mourn the loss of such a good man. Jason Carter's comments indicate he is carrying on his legacy also. My condolences to all the people that knew him and his wife. I read the comments below and join with these thoughtful people in wishing him and his family peace.

Sorry that his vote for Harris didn't pane out. I wished we had a Democracy but now with trump in office it's gone. The death of Jimmy is the death of Democracy sadly. I wonder if that was why he remained alive for so long. I do hope G-D sends Jimmy back as an angel to help us from above

It was his time ge saved a nuclear would be disaster, his clarity on japan gaining energy and ability to discern certain factors of what most people have no idea of. So now we will discuss the care factor .
