My husband and I are Canadians and have had the absolute pleasure and privilege of living in Singapore for the past 15 years. It is a beautiful city with a mix of modern and traditional, offering an exceptional quality of life. Yes, it can be expensive, but a lot depends on one's lifestyle choices. I love that Singapore is a clean, safe, and vibrant city and that everything is efficient and convenient. The city/state runs like a well-oiled machine! The thing that I appreciate the most about Singapore is its strict rule of law. Yes, I am in favour of all the rules! These rules are why Singapore is one of the safest cities in the world and continues to attract foreign talent, investment and capital. The strict rule of law has created a cohesive society where there is a lot of trust, be it in the government /politicians, institutions and people. Trust is the foundation of any successful nation, and in this day and age, it is sadly lacking in other countries. While things are declining in many parts of the world, I see Singapore continuing to thrive and enjoy economic, political and social stability. Majulah Singapura (Onward Singapore)!
Wow, you are speaking like a true Singaporean! ❤ haha… you see, Singaporeans are not very expressive generally, tend to be on the reserved side of things in most occasions, but you said exactly what we would feel. Safety. Trust. The software that clicked with the hardware of beautiful infrastructures. So much so that I know that folks around wouldn’t harm me one way or another, no guns, minimal crimes (usually very petty ones), no drugs… Am a frequent traveller myself, but I find it most comfortable here. May that be the conveniences of daily life, the efficiency of public transport grid, availability of nice food everywhere (literally everywhere!). Most importantly, communication. Everyone here can speak English (plus another language). I find it less appealing to go to another country and I can’t convey my message across effectively, or can’t read the signages. For example, I like Tokyo or Seoul, but I’m having tonnes of issues trying to get around or find something or just to express a request. So I’ll say Singapore is definitely much more liveable and cosmopolitan, at least among Asian countries…
I just got back to Canada from Singapore and my wife and I are already thinking of moving our family there in the future. There were no homeless drug addicts, tent cities anywhere in Singapore, our kids would have a much brighter future there with such high quality of life.
Rule of Law and Respect. What an interesting concept we have seemed to have forgotten and lost sight of here in many Western nations sadly. Well written and great points. It’s a wonderful place.
For stability there is no country better than Singapore, other countries are affected by crisis, disasters, scandals, but Singapore is shielded from the atrocities happening globally. That's how Singapore keep its economy and currency strong, the wealthiest foreigners park their money in Singapore.
@@contrarian2496 ah… talking about crisis… you’ve just reminded me… Singapore is not along any platonic fault lines, and doesn’t have any natural disasters, touch wood. So yeah, nice to be in.
right, it really lets me gain a new appreciation of my country, even with my problems and displeasure towards some stuff. no matter what, this will always be my countryyy
It's so funny that for other counties like America, EU & Japan people don't need to be reminded how "wonderful" it is. Because there is no need. As for Singapore I keep seeing por lam par videos that totally ignore the bad side of Singapore. I live here all my life, I've studied abroad. If not for racism I wouldn't have returned to Singapore. However when I started work, Singapore imported racism into our work place. Especially in MNC locals are being discriminated. Many sporeans don't work with foreigners they are happy in their own bubble
I am a foreigner working / staying in this beautiful "garden city" for more than 10 yrs already. Still in-love with this place and proud to say this is my home away from home.
What's makes you think you are more qualified than locals? Foreigners have a big advantage in the Singapore job market because they are up to 17% cheaper than locals because exempted from pension contribution by the employer. Being "cheap" is not a talent.
@@franciscody9622let’s face it. Foreigner with big paychecks probably has what it takes to warrant a big paycheck. Jobs which probably that require experience and exposure, or connection to the country they came from. Those cheaper salaried ones, Singaporeans wouldn’t even want. How many times have someone applied to be a janitor, general cleaner, construction worker. And stay in dormitories? As for white collar ones, whatever salary that are drawing, they have to pay for their rental, which could effectively wipe out half their salaries. Salaries as you’ve mentioned, lower than yours to begin. Foreign business owners, have to contend with local employment requirements, which is to hire certain quota of locals before they are eligible to hire foreign workers. They create jobs for locals. Finally, if you feel that your salary isn’t that good, 2 things. 1. Empower yourself with new knowledge to earn and deserve a higher salary scale. 2. Start your own company, the sky is the limit. If you have never been someone whom understand how to manage a company’s P&L, costs and expenses, it’s easy to blame everyone else. Bosses, foreigners… some even government. 😂
Love Singapore.......... the food, the people, the city itself, the transport system, the Hawker Centers, Bak Kwa, Kopi C, Santosa Restaurants on the beach at night , the Shopping, the bar at the top of the Swissotel etc, etc....... been there 13 times and looking forward to the next one. Oh, and I won't fly with anyone else but Singapore Airlines!
Singapore is a legitimately happy place. It has a genuine social conscience combined with a deeply-rooted entrepreneurial culture. Plus the food is out of this world! Can't wait for my next visit.
@@ryerye6587nonsense, my brother and my best friend are the LGBT community, except legal marriage, they have every right like the rest of the populations, Singapore doesn’t have laws that target the LGBT groups like the US, even half the states in US, homosexuality is actually illegal, while in the past 40 years, no one in Singapore was being prosecuted for being homosexual so please stop the lie, not being able to spread hate is not the same as no freedom, any intelligent person could tell the difference.
@ryerye6587 My boss is gay and I have many friends in the lgbt community. If they are discriminated in any way it's due to their attitude/ lack of respect for others. There are many lgbt members here with great careers and wealth. So no, they do not face discrimination. Just don't bring the woke communities here haha.
@@EVL-xj5vc 377a wasn't repealed until recently. It isn't strictly enforced, but it /is/ a discriminatory law. The situation here is some of the best for LGBT individuals in the region, but that doesn't mean difficulties don't exist. Marriage laws are a lot more important than you think, getting approved for gender change can be a complete nightmare... not to mention adoption... and the general backlash the community gets from religious folk. I do love my country, but it would be a disservice to the community to lie about them not being discriminated against.
Being from Vancouver, I find the prices in Singapore to be comparable. A large latte/bubble tea here costs something like $7-$9 (CAD). But Singapore's redeeming quality when compared to Vancouver is that there are much cheaper options, especially for food, that we just don't have in Van. Also the weather and services industry in Singapore are way better than in Vancouver!
naw. weather is miserable in singapore. the insane humidity which makes the heat that much worse, the annual haze coming in from indonesia. you can't be outside for 10mins without sweating profusely. you can't do any sports outside during the day without being in serious danger of heatstroke or sunburn, and you don't have mountains anywhere that doesn't require a long-ish flight. you're just constantly on the lookout for the next climatized indoor venue to escape to. i can't stand it. and that's leaving out the prices, materialistic culture and rampant use of slave labour. already knew it wasn't for me when they announced on the plane coming in that drug trafficking carries the death penalty (and that is me being clean as a white sheet, i don't even drink). guys had me so spooked i almost flushed my aspirin down the plane toilet. what a welcome. no thanks. apart from that I actually did like it but climate is the biggest turn off of them all.
@@mysterioanonymous3206Although the weather is warm and humid but I like like it that it is more or less the same. Maybe you are adventurous and prefer extreme heat and cold with occasional typhoons and blizzard. 🤷🏻♂️
Singapore being expensive is a misconception that many tourists have when they visit Singapore. Trust me, everything is reasonably priced outside of the city centre and a meal can be as low as 6 SGD. However, it is very easy to exceed that if you go to high end restaurants
food is a secondary, or tertiary issue if you live there. housing is no. 1. and food does quickly become an issue worth considering, too, because most foreigners will, at some point, want the staple foods they are used to. Like dairy. And then you are paying out of your ass again. If you 100% change your diet to a local one, sure, it is possible to eat affordably.
@@makanimike nah, when you are drawing a Singaporean salary. It’s not unaffordable at all. Look, just for comparison. A fresh grad from Singapore earns SGD 2.8k to SGD 3.5k. A Malaysian fresh grad earns RM 2.4-2.8k. A bowl of noodles cost SGD 3.5-5, whereas a bowl of noodles cost RM 7-12. It’s a clear price parity and cost advantage, as well as a strong currency and wage structure all rolled into one.
@@makanimike most prices are great, and considering the wage structure as compared to any other country, as well as personal income tax rates. If for some silly reason like dairy, then certainly they can leave their Singapore salary behind and go back to their home village. 😂
@@vennsim71 my how edgy you are....'pack up and leave!' you go girl! if you are there as an expat and do not have access to rent controlled housing it will quickly screw you over. Rent increases of 30% (and much more ) after 1 year in a place is tough. Is it possible? of course. you pack up your household (again) and move another few kilometers away from the CBD. All I am saying is that if you come from a western country, it MIGHT be worth it. But at the cost of some conveniences, stability and long-term planning that you might be used to. Just remember the classic 5Cs. If you used to drive Mercedes or Porsche in Central Europe on your professional salary chances are you will have a Toyota or no car at all in SG.
Singapore is an expensive place to travel to, but in my honest opinion after living here for more than 10 years, not an expensive place to live in. Incomes are decent and taxes are significantly lower than countries in the west. I agree it is very close to being the perfect city (:
I think you get a good vibe due to the cleanliness, integration of greenery with city structures, futuristic designs, amazing food, picturesque cafes, neighborhoods, malls, delicious hawker food, over the top airport and interiors everywhere, the fact that the locals all speak English and are polite and friendly, the Asian diversity, high number of Western expats and Western families that make you feel comfortable and most significantly the safety. A single woman can walk around at 3 AM and nothing will happen to her in Singapore. This mix of traits doesn't really exist outside of Asia (Maybe Australian cities come close, but Australia is part of APAC geographically and culturally in my opinion). So it is refreshing for you.
I really liked Singapore when I was there, and I'll agree with you that the Botanical Gardens are amazing. I would say I'm an ambivalent flora type of guy, and I'd go back there in a second. It's an amazing place and the orchids are not to be missed. I also had my first Calamansi juice which during the hot humid days quenched my thirst like nothing else. It's a citrus beverage that a cross between a lemon and a lime. The Gardens by the Bay were being reconstructed after typhoon damage about six months before I was there and were nowhere near as spectacular as they now are. In my opinion there are two gems that you missed. Even if your not staying at the Marina Bay Sands you can purchase a ticket to go up to the Sky Deck on the 56 or 57 floor and the view is stellar. I caught a sunset from there and it was truly breathtaking. It only cost about $25 or so Sing but was worth it to me. The other is the Night Safari which not quite a zoo or wildlife park but something in between. It's it's own unique thing. The animals aren't enclosures as such but many of the animals that are nocturnal and as such snoozing during the day are out and active. I went twice cause it was raining during part of my first trip. I don't really think Singapore should always be called super expensive. It is more expensive relative to most of it Asian neighbours, but like you said it equivalent to Canada, and although I believe we're being ripped off, I don't not do things because it's so expensive. The other thing Singapore didn't decide to become independent they were kicked out of Malaysia, and Britain refused to take them back as a colony, so they're the only country that became independent against their will. It truly is an amazing place to go and really should not be missed. As usual a great video.
As a born and bred Singaporea, I welcome you to stay in Singapore, whether mid-term or long-term. Singapore has much to explore and experience. Hope you enjoy your stay and come back soon! :)
Visited Singapore years ago, beautiful city. You’re there during the dry season, any other time of year get ready for a sauna. I stayed at the YMCA One Orchard which has always been good value for the money, centrally located and even today only around $100 per night. But I agree, Singapore is worth the price of admission.
I must say the light show at Gardens by the Bay is truly spectacular!! Unfortunately, it wasn't around when I was last there in 2008 but definitely plan to visit first thing when I'm back. Overall, this video was an absolute treat to watch and can resonate with your admiration for this city-state 🇸🇬
Thank you for this quick tour of modern day Singapore. It was 40 years ago that I first visited there and the changes are astounding. I have fond memories of sharing a meal of pepper crab by the bay with colleagues and the great people and places.
I share your sentiments completely. I'm here now for a second time after 5 years and will be spending weeks in the city. It was the only thing I was thinking about for the past 5 years. My top 2 are also Singapore and Tokyo :) The relocation schemes are a bit bothersome, but that's completely understandable. But yeah, you can't choose which city you fall in love :) Cheers Alina
When in The Navy (US) we spent Christmas there in the late '80s..., the city was just fantastic and so clean. I was surprised and delighted at all The Christmas decor, too. I miss travel 😌.
@Daniel C Just 3 years after separating from Malaysia...They started the Keep Singapore Clean program, set by legislation..and yet continues. How far we've come from Nietzsche to imps uttering lol.
@@lawrencemitchell5983 I did some backchecking, the Singapore River cleanup was only completed in 1987 so if your late 80s was about that time period, yeah you probably caught the final part of the cleanup. Before that, the river really, really stank to high heavens. One thing I do notice about the difference between the cultures is that they approach problem solving very differently. Singapore has no qualms about making a development or problem solving plan that'll span for a few decades, while in the US, if the plan is not completed within 10 years or less, it ain't worth doing. This is kind of a big problem because long term problems become endemic and over time, solving them will start requiring huge amounts of money up front, which the US can't afford. Basically, the US system is a lump sum plan while the Singapore system is an instalment plan. You can guess who has it easier financially.
Alina, your Singapore travel vlog was absolutely breathtaking! Your camera work and editing skills are top-notch. I felt like I was right there with you experiencing the sights and sounds of this incredible city. Your passion for travel and adventure is truly inspiring. Can't wait for your next adventure!
So proud to be Singaporean, and honestly, after years of living in London, I'd say Singapore is actually more affordable due to having affordable choices, e.g. hawker centres that are cheaper than a Tesco's/Sainsburys meal deal. Also, it is safe and clean, which are all things I took for granted...and now I really miss home.
Alina, you have done an excellent job presenting my favorite place on earth. I have traveled to Singapore many times and have fallen in love with the people and culture of this beautiful country. I appreciate your passion for travel and adventure. I will certainly be subscribing to your channel. I look forward to your video on Changi airport. It is truly an amazing place. Safe travels and best of luck to you!!
Another incredible video! Singspore is a fantastic city where I could live, but perhaps, because it is a "little bit" expensive, it would be impossibile!! Just a dream. Anyway it looks really amazing. Thank you very much Alina for sharing this travel with us.
Great vlog Alina about my hometown of Singapore 🇸🇬. Singapore 🇸🇬 is City State also called the Lion City because of our national mascot "The Merlion". Also known as The Garden City. The “Garden City” vision was introduced by then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew on 11 May 1967 to transform Singapore 🇸🇬 into a city with abundant lush greenery and a clean environment to make life more pleasant for the people of Singapore 🇸🇬 to live a healthy lifestyle.
Lived in Singapore from 2000-2005. Enjoyed my time there. Easy place to live as an expat and is well-located to visit the rest of Asia. Was not as expensive when I lived there.
Ive been there many times lately, I use to take layovers also in Singapore and spend the day, for renting or buying houses/apartments is expensive, also well located hotels are expensive, but if you don't mind to go to a hostel or a cheap hotel Singapore is not expensive at all, you could have the best food in restaurants for less than 10 usd and the most important attractions are free or very cheap, also transportation is so cheap and the service is great
You had the good years. These few days, landlords are evicting tenants to either increase the rent 100% or move out thanks to the swarm of PRC locusts driving up the property market and trying to destroy Singapore like they did to China.
@@limchyehock6722 I did, but I mean that you could get amazing food for few dollars, even in Marina Sands foodcourt Italian food is also very expensive, but I don't want to spend 40 usd in a pizza, I prefer to eat Asian food for 10 usd

Thank you so much for this beautiful vlog! Singapore is definitely something truly outstanding! Highly recommended to visit and spend as much time as you can afford there. Cheers!
Hey sir I really wanna know how to come there and get a work visa if you don't mind please tell me everything about Singapore and the works that paid good I look forward your reply
It's a nice place that's for sure, I visited twice last year and really enjoyed it. It's convenient as a half way stop on the way to Europe from NZ. Looks like the mask wearing on the MRT has been relaxed since I was there last.
Yes Singapore is absolutely fantastic, I was there when it wasn’t like it is now and I still loved it. I love visiting there, as much as K.L., and Taipei.
Welcome to Singapore Alina. Hope your vacation in Singapore was good. Yes i agree with you that Singapore is expensive if you are staying at the city area. Our local heartland is very much cheaper. Just like what you enjoyed our local hawker centres. Do explore other parts of Singapore which is much cheaper or even free. I enjoyed your video as a local and hope to see more vlogs from you. Cheers !!!
There's more to Singapore than just the touristy places you showed in the video. Next time come back to Singapore and explore the heartlands. Experience the life of the locals and where we go to shop or eat. Some good, cheaper local food you can try in the heartlands. There are also malls you can check out. It won't be the same touristy spots like I've seen in many videos tourists have posted of Singapore, it'd be different.
Gardens By The Bay's two conservatories are worth the visit if you can't take the singapore heat. It's basically a huge air-conditioned dome with tons of different plants like botanical gardens but with cooling air, and a man-made waterfall.
Yup, not sure why people get so frazzled when I say the US could learn a thing or two from Singapore (I mean, that is true, 100%). I stayed at the Marina Bay Sands in December for an entire weekend. I splurged and even got the upgraded room since this was a bucket list place for me. From my balcony, I had an unobstructed, front and center view of that nightly Gardens By the Bay show. The rootop pool is to die for. Yes,, expensive stay, but honestly worth every Sing dollar!!!! (Yes, there is a daily resort fee, but in your room, you get unlimited FREE snacks and drinks!!!!)
Alina,The Marina Bay Sand Shopping Center is just amazing with so many great things in Singapore City, Singapore in March of 2023.I also LOVE Chinatown & Little India with so many great stores, restaurants, hotels, etc. in March of 2023❤❤❤

Glad that you enjoyed your stay in Singapore, Alina. There's actually more areas to explore and discover. But I do get it that it isn't exactly affordable should one be on a budget. Well, there's always a next time. Have fun in Japan too!
Singapore is Han Chinese majority so think China with English and Confucian culture and a mix of different influences and you have a phenomenally vibrant, successful and safe city-state! It wouldn’t be ideal for a budget traveler but if you have spendable income, you’d have a good time here and enjoy it. Alina, thanks for the tour of Singapore and we’ll be seeing you in Tokyo!
As a Singaporean who's ethnic Chinese, I've to again enlighten foreigners, especially Chinese Mainlanders: Singapore is NOT a Chinese nation. In reality, Singapore has always been a multi-racial, lingual, cultural and religious society. Our forefathers and pioneers who laid the foundation for this country comprised not only Chinese but also Malays, Indians, Pakistanis, Eurasians, Sikhs, Arabs and Jews. That's why you can also find a Hindu temple and a mosque in Chinatown. Not just Confucianism, but also Asian values such as being family-oriented, respect for elders and teachers, diligence, thrift, emphasis on their children's education and care for the community. P.S. Our national anthem is sung in Malay.
If you don’t mind just egg and toast, there are breakfast outlets that serve affordable options. You can also go up to the top of marina bay sands for a drink even if u don’t stay in the hotel, just that there isn’t pool access, there are restaurants and bars. Lovely seeing you here, Singapore welcomes you 💗
Great video, Alina. Breakfast and for the matter, any meals can be much cheaper at our hawker centres. While there, try the breakfast set of KAYA Toast (grilled bread) , COFFEE /TEA with half boiled eggs at S$4-5. Definitely cheaper than the eateries /restaurants.

Was in Singapore 2 weeks ago , for a short layover (36 hrs). It was raining like hell ! Still, a beautiful country. Everything is clean & super efficient.
For breakfast, you should try roti prata with curry or if you're not looking for a punch in the morning, then sprinkled sugar on top. 😊 Another favourite bread option is kaya (coconut jam) on toast. For the chicken rice, a thick dark soy sauce usually accompanies the chilli sauce. Never mind, you have a few reasons to return for another food safari.😁 Happy to hear you enjoyed your visit. I know when it's time for me to return home to visit my folks. I start dreaming about my favourite dishes...
Thank you for your video, I actually arrive this weekend, was only going to do 1 night due to the cost, changed to 2, pleased I did that after watching your video. Thank you
if you get the chance, those big trees that light up by the Marina Bay Hotel, one of the trees has an elevator on the back side that takes you up to a bar a viewing area at the top. Very cool to go up there. Many people walk by and have no clue it is there.

chicken rice chilli sauce is usually fine, pretty average spice. Good enough to just eat it with the rice itself, which is one of my fav ways to eat it. If you try indonesian style ayam pengyat(Crushed chicken rice), the chilli they serve is truly spicy!
I absolutely LOVE Singapore. I've been a few times for business, and it is without a doubt my favorite big-city destination on the planet. The city feels is so clean, safe, and vibrant. Everything is planned so well, and because of it's multicultural history it can feel like you are in many different countries at once. The food is absolutely top-tier, from the stalls to high-end options; if you are a foodie, this is a bucket-list destination for sure. I actually ate at that very Tian Tian Chicken stall 12:40 last year, and I loved it (get the cuttlefish and bean sprouts!). Yes, it is expensive, but I was able to great food for very reasonable prices if I excluded alcohol (which is really pricey). Cafe Sia w/Toast for breakfast and a meal from an average food-stall can all be had for under $12/day total, easily. That is way cheaper than the US, for example, with out high taxes and tips. I got a fabulous room at a 5-star hotel for under $300/night. The same room in US/EU would be double that. Also, you can get a Metrocard and use that to get around, and it's very affordable as opposed to using Grab taxis to go everywhere. Can't wait to get back over there, it's an awesome city!
Alina,I can’t wait to watch your new remarkable video from Singapore City, Singapore this week @ the Singapore’s International Airport with great Flower Garden & Entertainment Centers.I am hoping to watch it soon in March of 2023❤❤❤
I love Singapore! I'd consider moving there if it weren't so expensive. Food is cheap, but housing and everything else costs a bloody fortune. But you get plenty for your money. Singapore is as close to a utopian society as you'll find anywhere on earth. Even the Muslims get along with everyone! When I went i stayed in a flat just north of the city centre near the Golden Mile shopping centre. Maxwell Road and Golden Mile are the best hawker centres. Newton Circus is a tourist trap. And yes, the botanical gardens are amazing, but it's best to go early in the day before the heat gets too intense.
"Even the Muslims get along with everyone " had me 🤣 Yes I have many Muslim friends, and neighbours and I'm a Catholic Chinese. Lau Pa Sat is also a tourist trap but food is delicious .
Your videography is beautiful. Do venture to the local areas. Eat at the food centres and try kopi..coffee. I prefer that over any lattes. It's what I miss most when away...

There are many non-aircon hawker centers & coffee shops in different areas of Singapore which offer food cost around $4 - $6. You can save a lot if you choose to live like a local in Singapore who are really good in looking for cheap deals for all stuffs. But prices in all restaurants will cost a lot more after adding the Tax & fees. Singapore are more expensive for foreigners for home rental especially if choosing to live in condos. Anyway recent 1-2 yrs, prices of home rental have increase around 20% - 30% due to many ppl moving to Singapore & shortage of condos & flats due to covid which delay the construction. Expect rental price to reduce after around 1 - 2 yrs when supply catch-up to demand.

Just caught this video. The next time you visit, you must go to the theatre. We have orchestras, theatre companies that put up excellent concerts and plays the whole year round. There are jazz clubs too. Also literary, music, dance festivals. The museums and art galleries are also worth a visit. The walking trails and park connectors are being continually upgraded and extended all over the island. Here’s where Singaporeans go for leisure. I don’t know why tourists always miss out these things. Singapore is not a boring place if you know where to look.
Absolutely we love Singapore. Thank you for sharing. Lots of love from Montreal. Thinking of moving to Singapore you are most welcome to stay it will be my pleasure.

For stability there is no country better than Singapore, other countries are affected by crisis, disasters, scandals, but Singapore is shielded from the atrocities happening globally. That's how Singapore keep its economy and currency strong, the wealthiest foreigners park their money in Singapore.
@@contrarian2496 ah… talking about crisis… you’ve just reminded me…
Singapore is not along any platonic fault lines, and doesn’t have any natural disasters, touch wood. So yeah, nice to be in.
Always like watching foreigners enjoying Singapore…reminds me not to take it for granted
Funny if Singapore is soooo fantastic why do u need a foreigner to remind u? Also let me remind u, many foreigners refuse to convert.
right, it really lets me gain a new appreciation of my country, even with my problems and displeasure towards some stuff. no matter what, this will always be my countryyy
Me too. I just tried settling in Canada. Not sure it's going to be long term LOL.
Same here! So true! And reading positive comments about Singapore makes me grateful for what I have here.
I have lived here for eight years already. I am still in awe and wonder in this most beautiful city state!
You tried their Hor Fun before? Or the fried prawn dumplings (Sia Jiao)? Wonton noodles are also worth a look! SLURP!!! lol.
Wow ure sure easy to impress. Maybe travel more OK?
I am a foreigner working / staying in this beautiful "garden city" for more than 10 yrs already. Still in-love with this place and proud to say this is my home away from home.
How did you get a working VISA in Singapore??
What's makes you think you are more qualified than locals? Foreigners have a big advantage in the Singapore job market because they are up to 17% cheaper than locals because exempted from pension contribution by the employer. Being "cheap" is not a talent.
Don't create trouble here. They called u guys Foreign Trash
I visited singapore with my family in 2019 .
It was a Wonderful experience.
I just came from Dubai trip.
Hey, Bak Kwa is a trigger word for me!
I haven't tasted this sweetmeat for decades. And, I have a desire for them!!!

Singapore is a legitimately happy place. It has a genuine social conscience combined with a deeply-rooted entrepreneurial culture. Plus the food is out of this world! Can't wait for my next visit.

It is not though for LGBT. So not for everyone. I've been there and it was clean and safe. But i'm not giving up my freedoms just for that
@@ryerye6587nonsense, my brother and my best friend are the LGBT community, except legal marriage, they have every right like the rest of the populations, Singapore doesn’t have laws that target the LGBT groups like the US, even half the states in US, homosexuality is actually illegal, while in the past 40 years, no one in Singapore was being prosecuted for being homosexual so please stop the lie, not being able to spread hate is not the same as no freedom, any intelligent person could tell the difference.
Beautiful city and great video Alina, thanks for sharing.
'cause we have hawker centers with cheap and good quality food.^--^
naw. weather is miserable in singapore. the insane humidity which makes the heat that much worse, the annual haze coming in from indonesia. you can't be outside for 10mins without sweating profusely. you can't do any sports outside during the day without being in serious danger of heatstroke or sunburn, and you don't have mountains anywhere that doesn't require a long-ish flight. you're just constantly on the lookout for the next climatized indoor venue to escape to. i can't stand it.
and that's leaving out the prices, materialistic culture and rampant use of slave labour. already knew it wasn't for me when they announced on the plane coming in that drug trafficking carries the death penalty (and that is me being clean as a white sheet, i don't even drink). guys had me so spooked i almost flushed my aspirin down the plane toilet. what a welcome.
no thanks.
apart from that I actually did like it but climate is the biggest turn off of them all.
@@mysterioanonymous3206Although the weather is warm and humid but I like like it that it is more or less the same.
Maybe you are adventurous and prefer extreme heat and cold with occasional typhoons and blizzard. 🤷🏻♂️
hahaha all relative. agree with you about cheaper food but not the weather!! :P
i can get less than $3 bubble tea , of course is not those “branded “ franchises. Personally i awe vancouver weather.
Singapore being expensive is a misconception that many tourists have when they visit Singapore. Trust me, everything is reasonably priced outside of the city centre and a meal can be as low as 6 SGD. However, it is very easy to exceed that if you go to high end restaurants
There’s meals as cheap as $2.50 outside the city areas… can always ask locals for directions ☺️
food is a secondary, or tertiary issue if you live there. housing is no. 1.
and food does quickly become an issue worth considering, too, because most foreigners will, at some point, want the staple foods they are used to.
If you are a normal human being, you have nothing to fear about the laws of Singapore. Excellent video!
spot on
What it normal? Cannabis is legal in Canada but can get you killed in Singapore it's a matter of perspective.
Totally agree.
Are you working for the Singapore Government public relations ?
@@lambertois11 nope! So you think otherwise re the laws of Singapore? Are you a Singaporean?
I am in Tokyo and found it way cleaner than Singapore. I think its due to irresponsible smokers
@@NewmaticKe That's why I said doesn't really exist outside of "Asia" because much of Asia is clean and safe.
We have come home to Spain from Singapore 3 weeks ago - just want to go back as soon as possible. Loved it beyond measure and loved your video too.
I’m a singaporean and I absolutely love it when anyone says something great or good about Singapore
There is no typhoon in Singapore, strong winds maybe but not typhoon. And Singapore didn’t want to be a British colony.
Strange. I have not heard the story about typhoon damage at gardens by the bay. In fact Singapore has no typhoon
Fantastic suggestions!
But, after sometime it's small and boring.
I lived in Singapore for 60 years and it is still an exciting place for me
As a born and bred Singaporea, I welcome you to stay in Singapore, whether mid-term or long-term. Singapore has much to explore and experience. Hope you enjoy your stay and come back soon! :)

I stayed at the YMCA One Orchard which has always been good value for the money, centrally located and even today only around $100 per night. But I agree, Singapore is worth the price of admission.

You must visit Singapore again. It is different from the 80s.
@@mlu8395 It looks quite amazing now 🙂.
... in the 80s, Singapore could hardly be called "clean". lol. From that statement, you can guess the bar got raised over the years.

P.S. Our national anthem is sung in Malay.

chicken rice chilli sauce is usually fine, pretty average spice. Good enough to just eat it with the rice itself, which is one of my fav ways to eat it. If you try indonesian style ayam pengyat(Crushed chicken rice), the chilli they serve is truly spicy!
Oh hello!. You popped up on my recommendations. First time viewer. Thanks for the journey, will check out your others.
Are you working for the Singapore Government public relations ?
Singapore truly has a magic all its own! ✨ With its incredible food and diverse culture, it's a place that leaves a lasting impression every time! 🍜🌆
Alina,Thanks you so much for this remarkable video about Singapore to shows many great places about the city in great joy March of 2023❤❤❤
Your videography is beautiful. Do venture to the local areas. Eat at the food centres and try kopi..coffee. I prefer that over any lattes.
It's what I miss most when away...
You are so beautiful Alina and I love your beautiful tour and commentary about Singapore, my home country. You made me love my country even more than ever before.
Thank you very much 😊
Alina,This is my favorite video that I really LOVE to watch in great joy this week from Singapore City, Singapore in March of 2023.I am hoping more are coming up soon this week in March of 2023❤❤❤❤
There are many non-aircon hawker centers & coffee shops in different areas of Singapore which offer food cost around $4 - $6.
It will inch up 5% year on year..it would not drop..those can’t make it to rent will leave, open more doors for foreigners that can afford to come
Singapore is a very nice trip!❤❤
A mountain person.

Hi Alina, Thank you for showing our beautiful garden city Singapore. I hope you come back visit us again. Stay cool. Cheers🤗😉✌👋
Awesome video. Hope you enjoyed the Lion City. Also, try visit some of the older residential neighbourhoods.
Would love to check it out next time!
Your information about Singapore is very interesting and useful
Absolutely we love Singapore. Thank you for sharing. Lots of love from Montreal. Thinking of moving to Singapore you are most welcome to stay it will be my pleasure.
Singapore needs many rules to maintain social stability and harmony ....People do not have to worry about all these rules if they do not commit any offence ....
Welcome to Singapore. Happy that you enjoy this city.
