- Yes, Changi Airport is 100% one of the best airports in the world, there are few places that compare BUT from having this experience, there are some things I would have planned differently! Hope you enjoy the tour around and make the most of your next trip there!

I've traveled through both Doha and Singapore Changi Aiport, and will say that I personally loved the latter. It's more than just an airport, it's a tropical oasis. Amazing video!

I prefer Singapore, hands down. I've travelled many times through both airports, and Singapore is the world's greatest airport, in my humble opinion.
@@AlinaMcleod Doha airport is big with nice amenities but kinda "cold" and the immigration officers are rude AF. Also, the airport has built a little gardens by the bay but they claim they have it first when Gardens by the Bay Sg has been there way before Doha new airport is built.
I love Doha airport. It’s big but somehow very comfy and convenient. Will check out Singapore in a couple weeks time and will be able to compare 😁 Saying that, flying to Singapore through Doha so will refresh my memories of Doha too 😁😁😁

When I had a layover due to a bad storm, I just slept on airport lounge bench because I didn’t want to pay for a hotel when my rescheduled flight was due in a couple of hours! Sometimes you have to put up with a situation beyond the airline’s control. Changi Airport has a thoughtful, modern design and its waterfall and rainforest cenrepiece is a unique attraction. Alina, you don’t normally show airports, there’s usually nothing special about them but the exception here is Changi manages to be the top airport in the world for good reason. It was unforgettable leaving it for Osaka!
If you are in China, there are many inexpensive hotels near the airport, and the hotel has a free car to pick up and drop off. You just need to book the hotel on your mobile phone.

I have been to Changi Airport when I transited a connected flight. After getting off a flight from Guangzhou to Singapore, I stayed at Changi airport for about 6 hours before returning home to Perth.
Inside the airport, they have food court upstairs, while downstairs they have some duty free items there.

Changi Airport is amazing but you saw way more of it than I did. When I landed cleared customs etc and got to luggage pickup maybe 15 minutes or so after arrival they had unload all luggage from the carousel and had staff looking after same. Never have I had my luggage waiting for me with such a speedy entry. I really felt that Changi was like a high class shopping centre with an airport included. I was told the Changi and two other airports actively compete for title of best airport in world and that really shows. Singapore doesn't like coming second so they upgrade to try to regain first place if they lose first place status. Thanks for showing me more than I saw when I was physically there.

Yes, very familiar, been there many times. Did you go to the restaurant area that's up the stairs \ escalator on the left? - where you choose your dish, go to the cashier and then present your chit.
PS: I presume you checked the short stay hotel at the airport.

Regarding the sleep lounge... i think the idea of having it in an open area is security. If dark and tucked away in some corner, might be a bit scary for some. Just my thoughts.

Yes, that waterfall is beyond gorgeous, and at Christmas time their tree was spectacular.
Hi! I worked at the airport before and here are some tips for places to sleep! even though you cleared the immigrations at T1, you are able to transit between terminals via the skytrain (or shuttle bus in the midnight), there are "sleep/snooze lounges" across all 4 terminals. best places are typically the one closest to the gates. if my memory didn't fail me the quietest and biggest lounge is at T3! Hope to see you again in SG!

Terminal 1 is our first terminal, so the layout may not be as well thought out. You may wish to explore our terminal 2 / 3 which are newer, and have better amenities and layout. Take the free skytrains that connect the terminals
But you can’t enter past security in the other terminals unless you have a flight departing from there
@@AlinaMcleod All, if not most, departure airports are linked! There is interior shuttletrain/skytrain to carry passengers to the different terminals. :D
however, I'm not sure if Terminal 4 is included because it's really out of the way. 😅
@@AlinaMcleod once you are in the transit zone (past security/immigration) you can take the skytrain between t1,2,3 and try the snooze lounges in those terminals.

That was my experience too in Changi Airport . Overall nice place but not good sleeping options , also the Jewel opens only at 11 AM so anybody who depart the airport before that have no chance to see the waterfall .

@@AlinaMcleod you can go anytime, the forest area is open all the time. but most of the shops open between 10-11am and the waterfall doesn't start working until 11am.

You don’t need to be 3 hours in advance in Changi. 1.5 hours is more than plenty of time. Typical security and outbound customs is less than 10 minutes…

Hi Alina. I've been through Changi a few times a long time back. Not sure but the amusement centre seems new (and interesting). I shall share this video with my Singaporean friend and see if anything gets done with the snooze area 😄. No, she doesn't work at the airport.

My experience was pretty good. The food was sub par and you're not supposed to bring your own, so that's a downside.

I just wonder if there is a place where we can leave the luggage while exploring the airport. We are arriving to Changi around 3pm and would like to look around before heading to our hotel, but we will have a few suitcases with us. And we are flying out of Singapore from the Seletar airport so won’t be back to Changi

You could take the sky train inside the airport to terminal 2 and 3 , there is a area which is nice to sleep in and is quiet and not so bright but I had forgotten in which terminal
I just payed the money to stay in a room at airport hotel .. yes it’s very expensive but I didn’t want to be a Zombie.. I just know how horrible I would feel with the ongoing flight without some sleep

Amazing place and great tour! It would be nice to visit but disappointing they don't have more rest / sleep areas. Also strange the automated check-in didn't work. Travel used to be fun now it seems to be a hassle, even in a world-class airport! Thank you, though, for the lessons learned.
