What kind of medium do you use to thin the paint for the inicial layers? By the way, I'm a huge fan of your work!

Just turpentine and transparent oil color.

When you used the fan brush in the beginning... What did it acheive?

The original was painted on wooden panel and the surface is absolutely smooth. So we had to smooth the edges that left the brush.
