Out of 30 I got about 26 right, and I don’t even know anything about Sterile Tech yet, but am just now looking into it. Neat. Tho I am aware I can see it on paper and realize what is the best practice and that in no way do this practice test translate to knowing what to do in a hands-on situation where I have to choose what to do based off of knowledge and experience. So that’s where learning comes into play.
CBSPD: This exam covers a wide range of topics related to sterile processing, including but not limited to, decontamination, sterilization processes, surgical instruments, and distribution. The broad scope of the exam may require a more extensive base of knowledge. CRCST: This certification also covers comprehensive knowledge required for central service technicians but with a strong focus on U.S. standards and practices, which might make it more straightforward for those already working or trained in the U.S. healthcare system. Exam Format and Requirements CBSPD: Requires recertification every five years, which might indicate a less frequent need for keeping up-to-date with the minutiae of daily changes in procedures, though staying informed is always crucial. CRCST: Requires annual recertification, including continuing education credits, which suggests a continuous engagement with evolving best practices and could imply a more demanding ongoing learning process.
