I loosened my grip a lot, like I used to swing, and it freed me up instantly. I started striking it instantly!

oh well, I was doing more training with my driver, and while tee shots were getting better and better, I found myself can't hit the irons all the sudden, not even a pitching wedge........took a few days of practices to get it back and still not complete normal yet...........lost swing is the one of most scary and frustrate thing.......

For me it's 3 things. 1) Fatigue. Due to injuries, I'm out of shape. The back 9 becomes torture 😅
    2) Not eating regularly to keep my energy up. More snacks and additional electrolytes really help. 3) Loss of focus. I have to pull back, and regroup.

Thanks, Pro for another brilliant analysis of our shortcomings and solution. I would request for a clarification with reference to your tips on "...finding low point of the swing...". My question: Should we find the low point or should we rather make sure that low point is few inches ahead of the ball? Highly appreciate your guidance always

For me I prefer to focus on weight transfer anytime I am swinging badly it’s mostly because of poor weight transfer. So I just think of that one swing thought of shifting to the left with my back to the target. Also if your feeling tight I find exhaling your breathe before starting your swing helps greatly.

I felt like you made this video for me! I watched this the night before I played 18 holes. I was so sure I was going to have a bad day because I had lost my swing. I’ve been playing a lot of pickleball and it has messed up my golf game. I did everything you said to do and I played better than I’ve played in a long time. I like the way you break things down. You explain things so clearly that I know what to do. Thank you so much for your amazing instruction.

This happens to me regularly. I’m in a vicious cycle with golf. I start out playing good and striking it really good and shooting 74-82. I play good for about a month then out of nowhere in the middle of a round I’ll shank one. Then I’ll chunk one. My driver and irons completely get lost. I’ll come back the next day and it’s worse. I’ll come back the next day and I can’t even hit a single solid shot. So I have to quit for 2-4 weeks. Then I come back and I’m good again. Striking it really well and posting good numbers for about a month and then all of a sudden I’ll shank one and then proceed to hit nothing but shanks or chunks for 2-3 days in a row so I quit again for a few weeks. It stinks because I love playing and want to play 4-5 days per week but I refuse to play when the only shot I’m seeing myself hit is a shank or a chunk. So I’m literally playing for a month then taking a month off.

    Thank you.
Actually what you suggested for getting back the swing is also good for a warming up whe. One goes to range.
    Kisses.

Michele, your so right about playing too much, in the Midwest of U.S. June and July can play 20 rounds or more, because it’s so beautiful out and the game is so enjoyable, can get into a comfort zone with your swing while playing well, then go for it more because of confidence, that’s when I tend to lose my swing. Especially on the tee box. The short game always saves me, us middle age guys, read and chip from 40 yards in. Great video, thanks’

I am coming from 0 to 1 in terms of golf via watching your beginner's videos. I really appreciate all of them. Someday, I will definitely come back to this video because I have to have yet to have a swing to begin with to lose it. I am working on it. Thank you so much.

Best tip is to feel like you’re dropping the club at impact then grip it even lighter. You can’t feel the downswing shaft angle with a tight grip, you need a slightly tighter grip in the backswing simply to get the club up and back , but once in the slot let it go or you will never feel the correct angle and the slot will be guesswork. You’re all welcome!

Many times! Playing thru injuries is always a mistake. But just this winter I had a round where I shot 50 on the front, 38 on the back. How? Started building on the positives. My swing was gone, the ball was going sideways, but I could putt. A positive. Then, my 6-iron punches from the trees were very effective, getting me closer to a full swing. A few good chips = more positive thoughts, and I got a little looser as the round went on, suddenly started hitting golf shots. If it's a mid-season collapse I review my setup & then go to a field somewhere with an old club and make big swings & literally throw the club into the distance on the follow-thru. Gets me out of my own mind, out of constipating swing thoughts, out of ball-lock syndrome , and more focused on "out there" where the target is. Then I go back to real practice, feeling looser & mentally liberated. I keep religious notes on my swing (setup, feels, past problems & solutions) for reference in the dark times.

My number one reason is: too many fancy swing thoughts. That'll usually cause me to forget about the basics. The remedy is to clear the mind and go back to basics.
