Narrative:
The Experimental Leon P Archambault RV-6A aircraft, registered as N715PA,
sustained undetermined damage after impacting the waters of the Merrimack
River. This occurred during an apparent ditching while in a right traffic pattern
to Runway 23 at Lawrence Municipal Airport (KLWM) in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
The pilot did not survive.

When he said he had a emergency and was coming right in. He turned away from the runway. I think if he would have went straight for the numbers(on the runway) he would have made it.
