    The dialog talking through this video is very helpful. Describing everything going on, little tips and hints really help. Great work!

    Showing stuff as you are describing it sure does help the understanding of the process. Kudos cameraman!

    Great video. Thanks. I need to do this job because my impeller froze to the auger housing and I burned through the belt before I realized what was wrong. My bad. First time that has happened in over 40 years of blowing snow. Live and learn.

    Just used this video to fix my snowblower so thanks. One thing to add is that the top pulley is a two piece version so if you remove the bolt you can just slide the belt on and squeeze it in place as you put the pulley halves back together. Note, if you look closely you can see the center line between the two halves of the pulley.

    I will have to try this. I watch so many other videos where they empty the gas tank and flip it on the auger housing. I feel like this will save me the hassle of doing that.

    I replaced the belt with the oem MTD one. Now the problem is at the very first, engines starts, auger does not engage (suppose be this way). But after I press the handle to engage it once, the auger remain engaged while the handle is in the up position. Thoughts? Maybe I should loosen up the auger belt tension?

    I installed the new auger belt and now the new one isn't moving. What gives?

      Impossible to diagnose without seeing the machine. Is the belt not turning because it’s not properly adjusted? Is the belt OEM? (original manufacturer equipment). Are the augers spinning freely or can you spin the large pulley that drives the augers? When the engine is running and the auger handle is engaged, what is the tension?

    What size is the auger belt?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot tell you that. I use the model number from the machine and look on the internet parts look up to find the correct part number for the machine I am working on. You need to do that. Once you get your part number, you can either purchase the correct one at your locals MTD dealer or you may be able to call a local automotive store and they may be able to cross reference the original part number to a aftermarket belt.
