Honest question, the barrel path through the zone looks awfully steep, almost upper cut like. Is this an exaggeration in drill format? I fully understand getting on plan with the pitch, a slight upward angle to the ball. Teaching a more vertical bat path seems it would result in a majority of fly balls rather than driving the gaps. Honest question, not trolling. Thanks!
This video is pretty outdated with all the things I’ve learned. I don’t think he enters the zone too steep and he stays through the ball pretty well. This player in particular had a better year after working that program. Some of the differences I would teach now I wouldn’t try to generate as much hip and shoulder separation. Data and tech shows that the hips only need a head start and you can teach active tension to shorten the swing cycle.
Do you have a new version of this? Really like and want to use with my 11u crew
Nice work!!
Funny how things come back around, slightly different but back in 1980-1985 ish
With pvc pipe
And then also the chain swing

Thanks for putting this together... Very helpful!!
Great drills. Does he gave a pullback? Maybe a subtle one? Can that be added in the drill sequence?
Not sure what you mean by pullback
This is gold right here. Thank you for breaking this down.
agreed
Does this training work for Fastpitch softball?
Yes applicable to all hitting
Zach doesn't know were he is😂
The gum is driving me crazy for some reason. Chomping like his life depends on it.
Very helpful thanks.
Hello. Where is your school or training facilities located at?.
Located in Chicago. Also do remote training.
This was hard to watch
What size did you the pvc cut?
Matt Boragine 3/4in 5ft. Maybe a little taller depending on the player but not any shorter.
If you need to use PVC pipe to teach hitting you must be a plumber
Mark Doran by far the most vacuous comment I’ve seen on TH-cam today.
