Yup! I think that was probably the motivation. I asked him if I need to start building a 350X for him next. He said no... but I'm sure it won't be long!
Just setting in after a good but long day and tuning in. This is a GREAT machine for Bennet to step up to. Perfect size. And let me know when that ATC250R is for sale! 😁🤣 But seriously 😳 And funny how you're replacing and mentioning the rear master reservoir. It seems to me the 1 design flaw on all the old ATC/TRXs as it's located right next to exhaust and they melt and swell.
Yes sir! Before I know it he'll be after some 350X power! Or maybe he'll be a 250R guy... who knows?! Yeah, it's funny how those reservoirs get all funky and deformed like that. I hadn't even thought about the heat they'd see... but I bet you're on to something!
Well I'm glad I did then. I saw you comment on something and connected the dots... then I saw you had already sent me a request. Sorry it took so long!
Wow, the 250r is looking great ! The new bars look awesome, the blue ones always bugged me. The motor never let me down … I would get it off the shelf once a year and run it , it pulls real strong … a little bummed about the loose plug ! The trike is just the way I got it decades ago … just enjoyed it as a rider… but glad you’re doing the detailing ! 😎👍
And I'm loving the 83 looks good. I think she deserves a oem or Serwa front tire. I think you said you're doing an oem. And get the boy some oem Honda grips and that sweet lil 200X. That will be a sweet machine for him!
The tire swapping comments were about the 250R. But now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure I sourced an OEM front for that 200X and I have it out in the other room. I need to go find that! Yeah, those red grips suck... but the bars are kinda bent on that 200X too. I'll have to see what I have on the shelf to remedy that.
Yeah, they seemed pretty well built... time will tell of course. The reservoir was Mati, but the caliper wasn't. Probably came out of the same factory though!
Nice to see some more 200x content, because soon I will be getting a 86 200x. I do have some questions what type of red spray paint would you recommend for painting a atc gas tank? P.S I have a lot more questions about 3 wheelers so I messaged you on Facebook.
We just did the same. It works enough to lock up the rear brake at 60. Stainless brake lines and clean fluid make a nice difference. I feel like the 40 year old oem master could be refreshed for better result. Also, if the rotor is warped at all, like ours is.. its not gonna be as nice. We used the soft EBC pads on ours and it works until we have Greggy rebuild our OEM
Well that's good to hear! I just picked up a bottle of fresh fluid to bleed them out the rest of the way. I'll report back with a follow-up in a future video!
Looking good! Also that caliper you got for the 200x almost looks exactly like the one we ordered for one of our fourwheelers. I wonder if they share the same mount and disc size even if they are two different brands?
I think Bennett is hooked...my son Riley is as well, since trikefest he's been coming over and ripping my 86 350x regularly! Awesome to see you guys wrenching together! 250r looks awesome, did you say you were going to sell her?
Thanks brother! Yup, it's becoming a more frequent thing for sure! And he's starting to say things that tell me he's actually thinking about things. I'm excited to see what the next year brings!

Hey there guys. Greg here from South Africa. I am rebuilding an '85 250R, which were very scarce back in the day. Hence, parts are basically unobtainable. Shipping parts like rear fender plastic and tyres to South Africa more than doubles the cash outlay, and it is just too expensive. However, I will be in the USA around this time in 2025, so I will be shopping for my much needed parts. Do you think you will be able to help me put together a bag of spares that I could bring back home with me?
@@theDeeJayCee Hi there. 2 big parts I need is rr fender plastic an frt fender. Also looking for original handlebars for the wideset clamps. I have purchased parts since 2014, in US, and either had my son bring them over, or fetched them (2016). I would probably bring tyres and exhaust muffler plus other parts back with me next year. I might need 2 sets of piston rings, but don't know if Honda can get for me. I am trying to build one as close to original, for show, and one to ride.
