That scene where Naruto was gasping, it brought me back to Naruto Shippuden ep 209, when he was hyperventilating in the snow. I was worried if it was a panic attack or he was thinking of killing Boruto right there.

The anime says it’ll stop the process completely but frankly that’s a contradiction to what he said earlier about there being no way to stop it. It was just an extra layer to justify anime canon arcs. If you think about it though, the change wasn’t needed.
