- So, this week we had a return customer stop in that had a little controversy around her the first time she came in. She brought in some really good stuff last visit and brings some more this time around. This time she tells where she might be getting it. While going through what she had the shop gets busy with just me working it so im trying to juggle helping four customers in a few minutes span. After that, we go to some yard sales and find a super clean with ten games Super Nintendo we try to buy to flip. She has the same story every Tweaker uses. They always helped clean out an old person‘s garage and was lucky enough to keep hundreds of dollars of stuff that was gonna be thrown out

BS ... she said she worked in bars most of her life... she was on the PAYCHECK end of things .. not the PAWN STORY. Two different walks of life. Yes, there are folks out there that get to pack'n their parents and grandparents things, and they ask others to help them downsize the pile. Many have no clue the true value of the items they are selling. People should care more about their history. I never did hear what the value of the Platinum Ring was ... I'm not convinced of 'fair trade yet' ... I struggle with this alot, as I am one of the people that is left to manage things of "Ago" whether I discover them, or they discover ME. 🙃 @PawnBrokerPickers

My son bought his fiancé's engagement ring at a pawn shop. Paid $1800 and it had the receipt from the jewelry store next door, which we verified and talked to the lady that sold it originally. It appraised for $7k. I couldn't believe it.
Jewelry always appraises for far more than you pay for it, providing you're buying higher end stuff. The issue at hand is simple. What it appraises for and what you can sell for are world's apart, end of story.
She's a hard workin woman cleaning out garages and she got her reward. Very nice.

Nice follow up and clarity video on the woman with the silver. People need to realize she probably took the job of cleaning out that barn for some extra money and came across these items. She clearly said the person who hired her said to throw out everything. She just hit it at the right time and place. Plus you have checks and balances in place, so if something seemed off, you would catch it. Great video as always.

She may sound a little crazy, but I don't think she is lying. I've known a few people myself who made extra money cleaning peoples garages and basements and found some hidden treasures. Just a bonus for the job. More power to her.

I found a envelope with £1500 in it when i was a kid, handed it in to police. Owner came forward to claim it and asked who handed it in, police told them it was me, they came to see me to say thanks and give me a reward, they gave me £5. I would never hand money in again, not that i have found it since though lol

I you lsten closely I think she said she got the items "cleaning out a ladies garage", not her garage. And yeah, its crazy but you wouln't believe the items people throw out. I know a few people that do garage cleanouts for a living and I've seen them come up with all kinds of neat stuff including complete sets of sterling flatware.
I used to work at a storage unit place about 25 years ago. I can't tell you the number of old spoons and "silverware" I threw away. I was 16 and had no clue that silverware was actually silver. At the same time silver back then probably wasn't worth near as much as it is today.
People need to stop judging folks like that lady
