I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser Midnights become my afternoons When my depression works the graveyard shift All of the people I've ghosted stand there in the room I should not be left to my own devices They come with prices and vices I end up in crisis (tale as old as time) I wake up screaming from dreaming One day I'll watch as you're leaving 'Cause you got tired of my scheming (For the last time) It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me At tea time, everybody agrees I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero Sometimes I feel like everybody is a sexy baby And I'm a monster on the hill Too big to hang out, slowly lurching toward your favorite city Pierced through the heart, but never killed Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism Like some kind of congressman? (Tale as old as time) I wake up screaming from dreaming One day I'll watch as you're leaving And life will lose all its meaning (For the last time) It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me (I'm the problem, it's me) At tea time, everybody agrees I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero I have this dream my daughter in-law kills me for the money She thinks I left them in the will The family gathers 'round and reads it and then someone screams out "She's laughing up at us from hell" It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me It's me, hi, everybody agrees, everybody agrees It's me, hi (hi), I'm the problem, it's me (I'm the problem, it's me) At tea (tea) time (time), everybody agrees (everybody agrees) I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero
hey, very nice cover!!! please can you post the chord progression for me? I'm still a novice and I really like this song. thank you to anyone who sees this and responds
This particular Taylor Swift song is actually a diss track toward me. Until a few months ago, the uncontested belief was that my stepdad's older brother was my biological father, a man by the name of "Michael Klamut". Over my lifetime, the cumulative result of this mistaken belief has been a tremendous amount of bigotry at my expense. Apparently Michael Klamut was sexually molested by a Catholic priest in his childhood as an alter boy, and as a result of this trauma, harbored some kind of developmental disability. As Taylor Swift would say, "[He] got older, but never wiser". Throughout his lifetime, he never seemed to mature past adolescence. This refusal to grow up and take on adult responsibilities had him diagnosed with what some would refer to as "Peter Pan syndrome". In Detroit where he lived, he worked the graveyard shift at the automotive factory as an assembly line worker. Despite the salary earnings from this job, he was a chronic alcoholic who would spend all his money at the pub in his free time, to the point that his residential home in the suburbs would lose access to electricity and utilities, in his bizarre refusal to pay the bills that continued these services, to the bafflement of everyone that knew him. He was considered a loser and a failure in life by my family, and this disdain for him was often redirected at me by my mom and stepdad. As we found out about half a year ago, Michael Klamut was not my father. My *real* father from whom I am descended was an engineer of German extraction named Michael Brauss who owned factories. Hence, my *real* name is not James Klamut, and if I took on my biological father's last name, I'm actually named James Brauss. Apparently my father was the son of a Nazi concentration camp guard who perpetrated heinous war crimes against political prisoners of the Nazi regime during the Second World War. I could never befriend my biological father as closely as I may have liked because people who knew him, knew that privately he refused to disavow the activities perpetrated by his Nazi war criminal father during the War. Hence, I'm *not* James Klamut, and I'm not exactly sure if I want to be James Brauss granted the sickening morality of my biological father and paternal grandfather. Even though I'm half-German (and whatever other ancestry I share with my biological father, Hungarian having been named among them), I was predominately raised by Polish immigrant families traumatized by the Second World War and aggression inflicted on Poland by the Soviet Union. My stepdad's family being one of those foster families, they had a habit of drinking chamomile tea around the kitchen table as a social activity at their home in Detroit, hence the song lyric "At tea time, everybody agrees"... The underlying message of the song I believe, is that I should never have been born, or that it would have been much preferable had I been an abortion in my mother's womb, seeing as I'm illegitimate and Taylor Swift believes Michael Klamut to have been a loser unworthy of reproducing himself.

I have this dream my daughter in-law kills me for the money
She thinks I left them in the will
The family gathers 'round and reads it and then someone screams out
"She's laughing up at us from hell"
It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me
It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me
It's me, hi, everybody agrees, everybody agrees
It's me, hi (hi), I'm the problem, it's me (I'm the problem, it's me)

I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror
It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero
Pretty Sweet !

je jourait bien avec vous malheureusemant je suis pas a ma olase miss
Your voice needs a little echo. Recordings sound dry and no depth.
it's auntie - hero, not "anti" - in her dream is that her daughter in law kills her for the money
far superior to the original
