You didn’t need 74 hunter :/ ... with 32 thieving you can pickpocket rogue for a poisoned iron dagger. I’m almost positive you need observatory quest to access fossil island. There’s a possibility you can get combat xp so it’s best to do that as soon as possible after you start the account
At 23:45 he does address that he is aware you can get the poisoned dagger from the rogue, but chose to do this method of getting hunter up instead because a diary requires the p+ instead of the normal poisoned dagger. Not sure which diary it is since he doesn't state it. As for the fossil island, Observatory Quest isn't REQUIRED, but it is helpful. If you do Observatory Quest, you don't need to do Demon Slayer, which is guaranteed combat xp on an ironman account skiller, since they don't have access to recoils anymore. All of the other quests can be done without combat xp gain (including Merlin's Crystal AND Shilo Village if you use a 2nd account). I do agree with you, he should attempt Observatory Quest early. If he does get the constellation that gives cb xp then he doesn't even need to hand it in.
The diary it was "required" for was lumby easy to kill the cave bug. I should have mentioned this in the video, however, if you watch the future episodes you'll see that this was pointless anyway due to unforseen circumstances :'). Regardless, hunter is always a useful skill to level so all in all it's worth it.
